Attorney Gerstenfield took my call, invited me into his office for a consultation, agreed to take my case and assured me that he would handle the situation and told me precisely what the outcome would be. I cannot accurately state how pleased that I am with Attorney Gerstenfield's "strategy and tactics" which delivered the outcome that he predicted and the outcome that I needed. The case was intended to cover both of my daughters, yet they only filed a residency petition for one of them. They keep switching my legal assistants without giving me any notice, and now they tell me that the window to file for my other daughter's residency has closed. What a letdown--one works so hard to make the payments and gather the documents as quickly as possible, yet they simply show no real interest in their clients' cases.

*Please Read- This law firm is misleading and unprofessional.*…read more Their website, advertising and even answering machine advertises a FREE immigration consultation, so my husband and I scheduled one and met via video call with Noel Vega. On November 18, we were asked to pay a $500 deposit to start the case, which we did in good faith. Two days later, due to financial difficulties, we called to cancel. I was told I had to speak with an attorney, but the attorney never called. There was no notice or apology. When I followed up, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and said there was "nothing she could do." I was later told to come in for a "free consultation," which required me to take time off work. I met with Eunice Cardona, who said she needed to speak with a manager about my refund. Weeks passed with no update. Eventually, Ashley Hass emailed me stating my refund was denied. When I asked why, I received no response. After following up again, Mónica L. Hernández-Santiago said the $500 deposit was used to cover the "initial consultation." So what happened to the FREE consultation they advertise, and why does the receipt say "Deposit" and not "Consultation Fee"? This experience was deceptive and frustrating. Immigration is already stressful, this firm only adds to that stress. Please look elsewhere!

I could say so much about Shawn, but for now I'll keep it brief. I retained him to pick up a case…read morein DC federal court. And the rates were hourly and somewhat reasonable. But after 3 1/2 years of me feeding this case 10's of thousands and it creeping along, I complained. He was also helping me in another case, and I was not happy with him at either. I remember Shawn complaining to the judge that I was breaking attorney-client privilege with some of my rhetoric, and I thought, oh boy,y I'm in trouble, but the judge fired back at him, "It's his privilege," meaning he (Shawn) can't complain. Anyway, he dropped me in the DC federal case and said I didn't have the money to go on, had health issues, and staff issues. I was not happy with what I felt were mistakes on his end, so I asked Who would you recommend. I want to go with his recommendation because had I lost I didn't want Shawn saying he had dome a great job, but who I chose to go with after was the guy that screwed it up. Well, that guy charged MORE THAN TWICE as much as Shawn per hour, and didn't even have support staff that charged less for the mundane work. So obviously Shawn realized that money was not the real reason for dropping me, especially since I've been feeding this new guy for over a year, part of which was to fix things he says Shawn should not have done. So, can I recommend Shawn Bartley? in a word, "No", is he a nice guy? "Yes" But that's not why you hire an attorney. Perhaps later I will expand this review.
