They recently added one of those cool library vending machines, and I love that touch--it makes the park feel even more welcoming and community-focused. The playground is great, the baseball fields are well-kept, and it's the perfect place to walk, relax, or hang out with family. It's definitely my favorite park in the area. If I had one suggestion, it would be to add a trash can and hand dryers inside the restroom. Other than that, I just hope people continue to take care of it--it's such a beautiful space and it deserves to stay that way!

It's such a gem to have in the area…read more There's space for children to play, and open space for throwing frisbees, or having a picnic, or reading a book. Plenty of space to walk your dog. There's at least two lakes that I've seen and numerous hiking trails several of which I've enjoyed. Some people like to fish, I'm not sure which type of fish are in the waters. There's also horse trails and bike trails. Most of the trails are accessible whether you have a motorized scooter, cane, or wheelchair, you can enjoy the nature trails. There's a variety of different wildlife and birds. A great place to bird watch. There's cows nearby. I love cows! There's clean restrooms, but they never have soap. There's overnight camping available and space to keep horses, not sure if it's for overnight horse lodging. I'm grateful for the Regional Park card they offer to veterans. That's a huge benefit and I appreciate it. I recently discovered the Celeste De Blasis Memorial Garden which was so beautiful it made me emotional. It's nice to see things like that in this area. This is a beautiful park and one of my favorite parks to visit. It's open daily from 7:30 am to 7pm.

There is a fee per day/per car ($15 as of this writing), so plan accordingly. While I didn't camp, I did see some stunning campsites right next to the water and in beautiful condition. Lots of great hiking spots, lots of folks fishing and overall a wonderful atmosphere. There's even a Frisbee golf course. Very clean and well-maintained. Parking is included in the entrance fee. He claims to have shot one of his tweaker neighbors too, so that tells you what kind of guy he his right there telling a stranger you shot a tweaker. Real nice jackass. Then he tells you the tweakers will charge you 30 bucks a head to use their entrance and scams you outta 20 bucks instead, when his sign said $5 bucks a head, and 10 for overnight, yea buddy thanks for overcharging me too, jackass. We planned on staying about 2 hours and told him he could catch as many as he wanted. Big mistake for us. The little booger caught 4 trout and a carp that was 1/2 his size. At $8.00 per fish, it was pricey. But......We were paying for the experience. He loves fishing. We would have paid $$$ to go to an amusement park and the memories wouldn't have been the same. All the staff was terrific. The only negative is, it is a little run down.

THE spot for rock climbers and hikers of the high desert. It's not for the faint at heart when…read moretaking it to the top. However, you can still enjoy a moderate hike with family and less able folks. There really is no specific route when approaching this gem. Pick a direction and go for it, it's natures jungle gym. For the lighter hike you will want to park at the base near the BMX track. To the right of the water tower there is a beaten trail which is, if you choose, the hardest part of the hike. After you peak you have the option of adventuring through large boulders with small caverns or sticking off to the left for a more flat surface. I started my 3 little boys on this hike a couple years ago when they were 3 and 4. So that should give you an idea of the capability. Additionally, this is where I take my adult friends to put their money where their mouth is and push their limits. Great place! BBQ pits and small playground here too.
