Once in a year this place changes. It changes from a normal industrial area to a sporting event comparable to nothing in Germany and even in most of Western Europe. When the streets are closed and you hear the sound of thousands of horsepowers far across the Dutzendteich and the Collosseum, you know it is racing time.
The Norisring race is one of the last few city racing courses in the world. Not only its sharp curves and its accessibility make it unique, it is also the very special atmosphere spread by the imperialistic Hitler architecture, in which the racing track is embedded.
Three days of racing can be enjoyed for quite some money and what you will see during these days won't leave you disappointed. From Seat León to Lamborghini, from Formula 3 to DTM the days are packed with rubber, fuel and adrenaline. Spectacular crashes are almost guaranteed, for those who need this kind of entertainment.
Even if the supporting programme is mostly a commercial for Audi and Mercedes, you get the chance to see some interesting stuff here. From commercially available supercars to Le Mans or Formula cars, everything is there and ready to get photographed.
Speaking of photographs, camera equipment was not limited in the last years, so make sure to take yours with you. And, more important, bring also some sun screen and a hat. One full day under the plain summer sky can become very, very unhealthy. read more
