The layout is perfect for a family with a lovely master bedroom, heated by a gas fireplace, and a cozy bedroom on the opposite side for the kids (queen and twin). The open-concept kitchen was well appointed (no dishwasher, but not necessary) and sparkling clean. The living room is heated by a flickering gas fireplace. Well placed couches on either side of the fireplace invited reading and snuggling. The west Tahoe location was fantastic. It is a 10-15-minute walk to the nearest beach, Chambers Landing. Lots of hiking nearby, including the short but stunning walk up to Eagle Rock - wow, what a view! The cabin is situated in a residential area, but feels very private. Very dog-friendly! The management even provided dog bowls and waste bags. Our only complaint was the wifi. It didn't work at all and that was quite frustrating as we needed it for work.

Since this unit doesn't have a full kitchenette the breakfast and free snacks at the office was included in my stay. But this room did have all you needed from a sink, to a fridge, and a electrified stove which I used to make breakfast one morning. The fridge gets really cold so just watch out your stuff on the top rack may freeze a bit. The room came with a nice tub which I used every night to relax my body. The heater they have in this room works really well and kept me and my doggies warm throughout the day and night. They come and clean your room everyday so this is a major reason why they request for your dogs to be well behaved. I'm coming back here again I hope in the summer. Its located 1 mile from Homewood resort so if you ski or snowboard it's really convenient, especially if your kids are fur babies. Owner Kelly is friendly and personal, available on the property. Staff is helpful and friendly too. We love the location near our son who lives on the hill above Cottage Inn. Every time we pick a different room to experience with interesting decor, however our least favorite have the animal heads looking at you in bed! (: The setting and location are from a by gone (nostalgia) era which we love plus modern upgrades. The breakfasts are delicious, delivered to our room but we also enjoyed when there was a "communal buffet" in the main building where folks gathered to chat. We love the staff's efforts to be more "sustainable " but we were a bit disappointed that the breakfast was delivered with plastic and so much disposable wrappings. Reusable containers would be best. The Beach and surrounding are beautiful and well kept. Love the trees!

We had a 5 pm reservation, and although we arrived 10 minutes early, and we could see the staff inside the restaurant, they actually don't open the front door until 5pm sharp, so we stood outside in the cold which seemed a bit odd. Once we were welcomed inside and seated at our table, we admired the nicely decorated interior of the restaurant as we perused the menu. Unfortunately, beyond that, our dining experience did not live up to our expectations. My wife and I shared the spinach salad as a starter, which cost $17. I asked our server if it was served warm, and she said it was ... but, there is a split charge of $2.00, so this was a $19 salad. I was hoping / expecting that they would make it and serve it tableside, as many fine dining restaurants do, but when it was delivered to the table, it was on a small salad dish, totally cold, lacking sufficient dressing and was a very small portion. It tasted ok, but was definitely not worth $19. Then, because the server recommended any of their veal dishes, my wife, cousin and I all ordered the veal scaloppini for dinner at $41. When the entrée arrived, we were all shocked as to how small and very thin the two filets were, about the size of a silver dollar pancake. They had a very meager sauce placed atop the veal, and the mashed potatoes that they served on the side looked like they scooped it out of the pan with an ice cream scoop. Definitely not worth $41, and was a big disappointment. For the price, and considering the meager portions that were served, I don't think we will dine there again. If you want a good experience, with good value and very large portions, try dining at Scusa! in South Lake Tahoe. Their Italian blue cheese salad with shrimp costs $11.95 and is delicious. And, their sausage and pepper linguine bolognese is $21.95, with a portion so large that you can divide it in half, and save it for your dinner the following night. Conclusion, overpriced food with meager portions.

There are two food options on site (a restaurant and a bar that serves food). There is also a gift shop (clothing, souvenirs) and a small convenience store (snacks, beverages). The spa has a minimal list of services, you can also get a day pass for $50. They have a sauna in the spa. Overall a great resort and spa.

He showed us around the property as well as our room all while maintaining a chill, conversational demeanor with us. The Pioneer Room was cute, clean, and functional. The kitchenette was the perfect place for us to enjoy our charcuterie dinner and wine that we brought along. The gas fireplace is connected to the thermostat so the room stayed at a perfect temperature over night as the fall temperatures were already dropping. We took part in the breakfast each day. Even if you are not a waffle fan, these waffles are amazing. Light, fluffy, crispy, and sweet! Plus, so many options for toppings. I loaded mine up with fruit and whipped cream! We also enjoyed some wine and cheese during the happy hour. I wish we had been able to partake in the nightly s'mores. I was impressed that they offer all three food times every day! Some other amenities that are available include a massive DVD collection, board games, a small arcade room with old school video games, honors bar, adults only patio, and free bikes for day use. Also, the location is essentially the last property before entering the forest and trails along the South Shore, so it really is the perfect spot to have comfortable lodging while having nature and adventure right outside the door. The townhomes are beautiful and have 3 levels. I see they've made some improvements- probably based on families. The stairs are steep, so with two kids running around, it can be nerve wrecking. I saw they added nice child gates to the top of their sets of stairs. In the townhomes, you have 3 levels and 2 patios: one patio on the second floor (living area with a half bath) with an egg chair and table setting. The third level is the bed space and that patio has the soaking tub and a little seating area. Their main bathroom is huge- beautiful modern shower with a huge soaking tub for two. The soaking tub takes some agility getting in and out, but is nice and deep and has jets. It takes a while to fill up, but once it does, it's really relaxing. We love how both walls next to the sliding glass doors on both levels have a see thru fireplace. Such a cute, romantic detail that's nice to have running while you're relaxing. The heated floors in the bathroom are an added perk. Oh! And you get your own garage- even though you still have to access the home from outside the garage. They are incredible accommodating. They have a list of things offered on request like kids toys, hygiene kits, ironing board, etc. They get added points for having those really expensive amazing Dyson hair dryers as their hair drying option too It's one of our favorite places to stay!

From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, Casey seriously went out of his way to make sure our stay was great. From helping us get settled into our room and acquainted with the space, to serving up pro-level local recommendations that really enhanced our visit, there was just so much to appreciate about him, his passion for his role in hospitality, and his general demeanor. With 100% sincerity, if we had not met him during our stay, everything would've been different about our stay. The property is showing its age and in need of a freshening up. Tall weeds have entered the chat and filled what appear should be grassy areas for picnics or gathering, making them very uninviting. The exterior decking elements and facade look tired and take from the general vibes. The rooms show the same pattern to be honest. The blackout curtains don't block much. The 24-hour lights in the corridor outside the rooms passes right through it. The actual shades over them don't block it either since they don't even reach end to end, leaving a gap at the center and the edges, letting even more in. More light comes in via the bathroom window as well, though at least you can close the door there. The carpets are in the same position. It's old and stained, and in need of replacement. The credenza desk as well, with veneer that was warped and bubbled from years of spills. The lobby was kept nice and tidy, and was a very enjoyable space. We played games, made s'mores, enjoyed the bar offerings, played cornhole, ate meals, and hung out here quite a bit during our stay. It was always so nice. That said, there were signs of it being tired too, like a candy vending machine with contents older than the hotel itself. All in all, they really need to go over this property with a fine-toothed comb and bring it back to life. This could, and should, be a phenomenal property, and I can only imagine the lower ratings are because of the needs it has currently.

The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The price compared to other places The bad: Oh my god wtf is that carpet? The rooms have carpet which theoretically is a great idea in a town that snows and it can be super cold. Helps with insulation. BAD idea if the carpets are not cleaned and maintained in a way that it doesn't look like I'm walking through sludge. I was also confused because I saw the house cleaner doing rooms and she had no vacuum. It could be that comes later so don't hold me to it but that just gave me the chills. We wore shoes the entire time inside. Don't expect housecleaning services like you typically might. They offer it on request but it is clear they prefer to not do that service. I followed the instructions on how to request towels and I was required to get them from front desk myself. I'm totally fine with that just be aware of what you're walking in to. Overall I was happy, I felt the cost of the hotel matched services offered and had some areas they went above and some areas that need improvement.

I used to frequent Meeks bay in my younger days pre-family and children with my friends and I hadn't been there much besides working in the area. This Tahoe beach isn't my first choice when visiting Tahoe. The beach is always nice of course. We are lucky to live so close to such a beautiful lake. The bad: The restrooms need more attention and a bigger trash and recycling containers around the surrounding beach areas. The ones in place yesterday were overflowing and I was pretty bummed seeing how people left their trash and food behind. I filled a trash bag with trash I found on my way out. The parking situation is a mess they charge $12 cash to park closer to the beach. All in all it was a good time.

Well, that was an understatement! Tractors and equipment all over, loud noise starting at 730am and workers walking through our campsite. We're told they had work to do so were going to be walking through all day. The resort shouldn't have rented the spot. Unbelievable and no way to get a discount or refund. Really bad in site 14. Avoid at all costs. Resort should have sent an email informing us of the construction and offering a discount or way to cancel.
