I really appreciated their large warehouse as there are many docks for multiple moving trucks to unload things simultaneously, so no waiting in line to unload which makes moving in a breeze. Also, this warehouse is 1 level, so I didn't have to worry about using any elevators. The management was also fantastic as they answered every single question I had - including any questions I had about security. I also felt good knowing my locker is being watched by cameras 24/7.

What is the difference between Public Storage Dorval and others? Well maybe others work for other people but for me I have very strict requirements which include firstly safety and security! I don't want my products getting stolen, damaged, or even dirty from forklift fumes and this place is a fortress which is maintained better than some restaurants lol. Cameras everywhere, each unit has alarms and to even get the elevator to move you need access codes which also then deactivate the individual units alarms. Also to even enter the gate security codes are required. Since there are so many security barriers Public Storage Dorval is also able to operate 24/7. For me this makes a world of difference. My old warehouse had 9-5 hours and if you needed to get your pallets off the racks you need someone to come help you out with a forklift and then pick your stock, put it back and so on. Here I have two a 25 foot by 10 foot units which I organize how I like and come and go as I please. This means that before any of my stores open I can pick my stock load up my car or SUV and bring it over as I please. Also at my other warehouses the employees always took Christmas holidays off, which in the retail brick and mortar world are the busiest times. Not having access to goods during these times can mean losi g tens of thousands in sales, and not to mention a huge drop in customer satisfaction! Also whenever I have full sized shipping containers coming in I just tell the trucker to pull right up to their truck dock which is perfect! And the service here really goes above and beyond! Whenever I stop by Dominique or one of the other bilingual staff greet me by name and offer to help with anything they can. I am probably one of the hardest customers to deal with and I always get taken care of by the Public Storage team like I am family and I can say that anytime I had any problem they have went above and beyond to resolve it. Bottom line if you need any commercial or residential storage solutions, this is the place to go! Central location right off the highway, heated, secure, clean and willing to work with you in any situation!

I have rented a 10x10 storage unit from the Dorval location from June 2023-March 2025…read more Moving out of this unit was a nightmare with this particular location. The staff were incredibly unhelpful and rude. After paying almost $500 a month for almost two years, I as a single mother, living in another province, moved my things out, however had to dispose of a few items (one double mattress and a Queen mattress) as I did not have the room or finances to take them with me. I asked Despina for assistance as I was unsure what I should do with these mattresses. She advised me that I would have to take them to the curb at a residential location so that the city could pick them up. After explaining that a) I don't have a residence in the city and b) the city pick up isn't for another few weeks. She simply repeated herself. Although I attempted to donate my mattresses, there was no organization willing to take mattresses as per their policies. In the end, I had to leave these mattresses behind. I ensured that they were in the GARBAGE BIN located on the premises. I was unable to lift the Queen size mattress into the bin, so I placed this one beside the bin. As I live in another province and had to return, this solution made the most sense and was my only option. The following day, Despina called me angry saying I was 'caught on camera' using their GARBAGE bin and that I will now be charged if the items weren't removed by 5pm. I was told I had to remove the mattress placed by the bin and the mattress placed IN the GARBAGE bin. At this point I had driven back to my home province and explained that I placed them in the only logical place I could access... THE GARBAGE BIN. I also explained that I was provinces away and couldn't do as she asked. Well, too bad for me; she was going to charge me regardless. Despina did not care. As I couldn't afford to be charged, which I explained to her, she continued to repeat herself. 5 pm was my deadline to remove the items from THE GARBAGE BIN. I contacted the only person I could (a 19 year old former student of mine living in Montreal) who went to the unit to remove my items. When they arrived, the entire situation changed. It was now " if you can cut the mattress, we'll throw it in the bin FOR YOU, NO PROBLEM" When they agreed, they were told by Despina " oh but you can't do it today. You have to come back tomorrow" So much for my 5pm deadline where I was going to be charged. They went back the following day, cut the mattress and placed it in the SAME BIN THAT I WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED FOR PUTTING ITEMS IN. I was a customer who never missed a payment, didn't cause any problems, and the way I was treated was terrible. I even asked Despina for an ounce of empathy. There was none. This business is a business I realize, but if you want any kind or humane treatment, this is not the storage place for you. If you have ANY hiccups like I did, this is NOT the place for you. GO ELSEWHERE.
