Some of the most patient and helping folks we have ever dealt with at a costume rental place. There's also a store there but it looked like the more fun place was the rentals. They have changing rooms and the costumes ranged pretty much from $60-$90 and you get to keep them for a week! We rented on the Saturday prior to Halloween Friday and didn't have to return it until Monday, 11/3. You put down your credit card as deposit and pay a cleaning fee when you rent. Wish they had the Topaz powder but sadly they ran out. The lady at the cash register was very helpful!! This was my second time renting from these guys and it is a fantastic experience. The costumes here are stage and movie quality, constructed for heavy use and authenticity. I love period costumes from 14th - 17th century and you can't go wrong here. This year they had a special $69 for over a week rental with zero, thats ZERO deposit! What? Are you mad? Was directed here to get a 1940s suit for our engagement photos right around Halloween. They have everything! Halloween rentals were mostly around $75 but allowed you to keep the costume until November 3rd (for some that mean a full 2 weeks). These are not your cheap plastic store bought outfits. They are costumes used in stage and TV productions! The staff was great about finding me all of the items that I would need and explained how to put it together in an authentic way. We are actually considering getting our tuxedos for the wedding from there, if you can believe it.....and will definitely look up Norcostco the next time I need a holiday "disguise". read more

I rated them a 3 for overall customer service. However, I give Paula a 5! She was the best. I recently went to a 1920's party and needed a costume. A friend of mine recommended this place. I called to inquire about their costume rental. The woman on the phone was quick to correct me that they were "not a costume rental, but a theatrical rental". She transferred me back to Paula (amazing girl) that answered all my questions. I went there later that day to check out their options. WOW they have killer stuff! Total quality! I went with a gorgeous beaded flapper dress that was a big hit at the party! Paula set me up, checked me out and off I went. During the time I was there I couldn't help notice how grumpy the other employees were. I quickly figured out who the snappy woman on the phone was, and the guy at the sewing machine couldn't be bothered. At least Paula was a sweet person and actually smiled! When I mentioned that my friend needed to rent as well and he couldn't be there until Saturday around 2:30 they laughed! Said they had a group of 30 actors coming in and would be too busy. My friend went anyway and of course he was treated as a nuisance than a paying customer. After my initial experience I thought everyone has bad days. Maybe when I return my costume it will be different. Unfortunately it wasn't. Paula was there, sweet as pie.. But the others were still grumpy. read more

Went looking for some body paint, and was helped by 2 of the coolest ladies. Service was quick and easy. They didn't try to sell me anything extra. I glanced at their prices and was surprised to notice their pricing is better than the big Halloween/costume stores that sprout up every year. I've only shopped in the makeup department so i cannot comment on the costume dept. Although the product selection is great, they stock many products for Beauty, Stage, and FX makeup, and they offer a pro makeup artist discount the customer service from Ava is borderline unbearable. If you are lucky enough to get her attention when you walk in she has an atitude of annoyance with you. If you are compairing products she is very hesitant and condisending when giving you advice. Most of the time you just get a rude look instead of product info or advice or she is happy to tell you she offers a class for $200. I went recently and she has even posted a sign that says something like: "We are not obligated to offer demonstrations". That basically sums up the attitude of poor customer service. In my opinion, customer service should be about providing the customer with information so they can make the best purchase and have a good experience in the store. With norocostco's makeup department you are better off doing all the research prior to your visit and have a list because you wont get any helpful advice or recommendations. If it were not one of the few stores in the metroplex that carry stage makeup i would definitively never go back! Many other makeup artists i work with also agree that service could be improved. Like i said i cant comment on any other department but the makeup department. The selection and prices are great but i would frequent the store more often and buy more product if i didn't dread the poor treatment from staff. read more

I found this place online while looking for makeup,I was running low on makeup and was searching online and came upon this place. I looked at the website and it looked pretty cool and it was not that far from where I live. So me and my mom decided to go and check it out. When we finally found it, it was in an area that was mostly warehouses but its right on the street so you can see it from Wycliff. So we walk in and they have several glass counters with makeup and all kinds of cool stuff like wigs,hats, and costumes. I really didnt know what I was looking for so i started looking at powders and then the guy at the counter asked me if I needed help which I did and I guess he could tell i was kinda overwhelmed there was just soo much to look at. So the guy was very nice and helpful I wish i could remember his name. So after that i was browsing a bit and he got busy with another customer and asked the lady that was there to help me in the makeup section. she asked what i was looking for and gave me some suggestions she said she was a makeup artist for about thirty years i was like wow she must know what shes doing then. so she helped me pick out foundation and powder for everyday wear. She just looked at me and found my perfect shade of foundation. I was very surprised it was basically the same thing that I usually buy at the mall buy way way cheaper. so after that i was walking around still browsing just seeing what they had and she asked if i would like to get some makeup done. I came in kinda plain with just foundationand i was like yes i would love that. so she did some eyeshadow and lip makeup and added blush which i also purchased. i loved the makeup she did it made my face look way better than when i got there. She was a very serious person but she was awesome and very helpful and knowledgable about makeup.Anyway enough about that this store is cool and i love that they have helpfull people to assist you great customer service and they also rent costumes cant wait to come back and visit. read more
