The point of Yelp is to post fair ratings to help other consumers to make informed decisions. Nora King was recommended by my real estate agent for a house appraisal. One thing that should be noted - she will tell you it's fine to pay her the day of - but then will come to you days before, annoyed that she hasn't been paid yet. If you are on the lower end of the income range, you will want to find someone else. She will let you know during the appraisal that she prefers not to deal with houses under a certain price range. More of a concern, she mixed up annual figures with monthly figures in her report. When politely asked to explain her figures so they could be explained to a buyer, she came back with aggressive and unprofessional rhetoric. Her comps were not within an appropriate radius, leading me to believe she doesn't have adequate access to the appropriate databases used in FF County. I think the anecdotal relays above are enough to make a potential client think twice about a document you'd rely upon for a financial decision. However, it should be duly noted that her customer service is atrocious. She insulted us on a personal level for asking legitimate questions about her analysis. She refused to phone us; we had to chase her down if we wanted any sort of explanation for perfectly reasonable questions. I think the most egregious part was that she could NOT justify her numbers ( because she mixed up the annual and monthly figures). She didn't offer to redo her work; instead , she threatened to report us to the municipality for housing violations. For the money you pay, her appraisal is useless. If you are assigned Nora King through a bank appraisal, you should definitely request a reassignment. Her slovenly work could definitely affect buyer financing. As a side note, once the property was sold, her appraisal was 15% off the actual sale price on a house under $500,000. It was a significant difference at that price point; certainly not as noticeable in properties above $7M, but again, could affect the successful sale or financing of your property.
