The food and service were decent. The Lychee Martini was to die for. I ordered vegetarian Pad Thai and vegetable spring rolls. I feel a bit disappointed that there weren't many vegetarian options for me personally, but I still quite enjoyed it. Really delicious, fast, and extremely inexpensive food in Oxford. Fantastic for a quick meal for those visiting, or for students who need a break from the library! They also provide an excellent student discount. Variety of food is fairly limited (as one reviewer has said, to food in a bowl) but is well prepared and very tasty. I recently moved to the area, and absolutely LOVE Noodle Nation. The Sweet and Sticky Chicken (number 160 when I was here) is so, so so good!!! Super fast service, especially getting food, it's almost immediate! The waitservice isn't noteworthy in a good or bad way, it's just kind of there. Okay, granted, most places in the world don't have an enormous Chinese community to enforce the authenticity of the food offered, and at least they don't put Worcestershire sauce in the food, as I've experienced at some chippies. (You know, the kind of place that has "Tandoori chicken, egg rolls, and chips" as a menu choice.) But still, after being told that the food here is "just like in Hong Kong", I found it a crushing disappointment. It's not actually bad, you understand. It's just not Chinese. I LOVE NOODLE NATION!!! The menu is similar to a chain like wagamamas, but with slightly more variety and starter options. The staff were all very friendly, and the place had a great atmosphere. Food was very reasonably priced and portion size was very filling. Will definitely return on my next visit to Wycombe. read more

I visited the High Wycombe branch on a Thursday evening. I did not have high hopes given that the other chinese cuisine eateries in High Wycombe are dire. I liked the somewhat casual decor but yet it maintained a nice and clean feel, with good attentive staff. I ordered some Chinese Restaurant classics of Ho Fun Char Sui and Singapore Spicy Noodles, with a side of spicy squid. I must admit I was very surprised at the quality of the Singapore Spicy Noodles and although it wasn't quite as authentic as from a top end Chinese Restaurant or of that in Hong Kong, it was very good. I'm also not sure on whether this was intentional but the dish did not contain any eggs mixed into it, which is present in an authentic Singapore Spicy Noodle dish, so this was a bit of a low point (although splitting hairs.) So i gave the dish 8/10 My girlfriends order of Ho Fun Char Sui was quite good too, but it lacked the fried taste which can only be achieved through a strong wok heat. It was very tasty, but was abit pale and moist for such a dish. So I gave the dish 7/10 The side of spicy squid was quite tasty, although not quite as crisp as expected. So I gave the dish 7/10 Overall, I was very impressed with Noodle Nation. The food, albeit not 100% authentic, was still extremely tasty and by far the best oriental cuisine I have had in High Wycombe. The food came very quickly and the portions were very big and fantastic value for money. I haven't really tried the other dishes yet, but so far, I would definitely recommend Noodle Nation. Wow - pretty bad food. I was in Oxford for a conference last week, and was excited to see a place that served Asian food. Boy, was I in for disappointment. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, yet it was definitely *not* Kung Pao Chicken. The sauce was a bright red sauce - ick. More like a bad westernized version of sweet & sour chicken. The chicken and white rice that accompanied were both lukewarm upon arriving at our table. Now called Noodle Nation, the food here is low cost, fast and tasty. The tables are set out in long benches so as to maximise seating, the staff are efficient and friendly and the menu is quite varied. Perfect for a meal out with friends before the theatre, a quick lunch or a family meal. The portions are extremely generous so you really get your money's worth and the staff are very helpful to anyone with allergies - they happily cook your food slightly differently or in a different pan for you. read more
