As we were walking away, the manager ran out the door and said "please come in! We'll stay open for you!!" It was music to our ears! I ordered a glass of local white wine and my husband had a locally brewed beer. The prices for alcohol are determined by taxes, so they don't control them. Also keep in mind that they pay their servers a livable wage, so the costs of restaurant food reflects that. This was definitely a "higher end" establishment though with mains starting at around $20. The restaurant is nicely appointed and modern, very clean. There's a gift shop next door that looked nice, although closed after 8 pm. They're situated right on the bay and it would be an incredible view during daylight. We first ordered the abalone for the appetizer (entree). I ordered the seafood plate and my husband ordered the scotch filet. The seafood was incredibly fresh -- and I got to try a yabbie!! Lots of large prawns, scallops, calamari. It was a bit shocking to see all of these words on the same page: tikka, carbonara, cajun, souvlaki, meatlovers, thai etc. but that's okay. I had the barramundi special (a type of sea bass) that was done over fried rice. It was cooked to perfection and was light and delicious. The desserts seem to really take center stage. They are all featured on display behind some glass if you are curious and want a previous. I went with the sticky date. Our server was very helpful on the dessert recommendation. They did have 'skippy' on the menu when we went. We learned that is kangaroo. It's quite popular and they had sold out of it by the time we had sat down.

Each type of seafood was well cooked and comes with paired sauce. We also got the spaghetti and meatball daily special to finish things off. The noodles were cooked al dente and the sauce was good but a little watered down, I'm assuming because the noodles weren't drained all the way. Service was nice and attentive and there was live music from what looked like a neighborhood band. Good experience overall.
