I was jealous of how their first dives were in warm ocean water with a castle in their backdrop. However, they struggled with learning in the ocean due to poor visibility (and would have benefited from a pool session). Even so, the dive sites in the area were spectacular - with underwater ruins and thermal vents. The cost of the dives was comparable with other Western countries, and we had no issues whatsoever. They also have a collaboration with a local hotel - making the trip even easier to plan. Highly recommend.

It's an underwater city with perfectly preserved mosaic flooring. They have taken some of the artifacts and put in the museum and replaced them with replicas. They will also take you to an area where there are volcanic heat vents that you can feel through the sand. You can also visibly see the sulfur. These are relatively beginners level dives and they also over discover scuba. They only bad thing is it's very silty, so if you have bad divers, your viz will be shot. You will see a ton of cuttlefish! They are literally all over the place.

Named after the 15th century writer Masuccio Salernitano from Salerno, this Porto Turistico…read more(tourist port) is a smaller port area in Salerno where you can catch ferries to other towns along the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Sorrento. It's a convenient 7-8 minute walk from the main train station, an easy transfer for travelers arriving via train from other cities. There's space for approximately 450 boats to dock, many of what I passed were smaller private boats ranging from dinghies to small yachts. There's a parking lot directly along the waterfront which looked like it had around 150 parking spots, and also many dining options within a 5 minute walking distance. There's only one cafe located directly on the marina, though rest assured they carry Italy's iconic happy hour drink - the Aperol spritz - so patrons waiting for the ferry can grab a drink while enjoying a pleasant view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Salerno city skyline and Monti Lattari (Lattari Mountains) in the background. Ferries arrive pretty regularly per hour during the day in peak season though off-peak schedules vary so make sure to check times in advance. Ferry tickets can be purchased online in advance or in person at a small office on the pier. For more info: https://www.portodisalerno.it/en/masuccio-salernitano-tourist-port/

This one was medium-sized with spaces for around a hundred or so small watercraft, though it appeared less than half full in a weekday afternoon in April. To reach sea level by automotive vehicle the road zigzags down a tuff* rock face, with several hairpin turns and enough road width for one vehicle to head up or down at any given time, so there is certainly zero speeding here. If reaching this by foot, you can also take a public elevator down/up, accessible from Via Ripa Di Cassano on the cliff level and you walk thru a tunnel at the bottom to get to the marina. It's €1 for tourists, €0.50 for locals. (See my separate review for the elevator Ascensore del Mare.) Around the harbor are a handful of restaurants, hotels and marina administration buildings. Also a nice view of some of the tunnels and caves incised into the rock faces near the water. *yellow volcanic stone, though probably tough to maneuver down as well.

Like most beaches in Naples, this is not really a beach but rather a set of rock formations from which you can jump into the water. The water is wonderful as are the views. The people are super friendly. Make sure to only use the ladder to get back on from the water (jumping in is no issue), because I got cut on the rocks trying to climb out of the water without using the ladder.
