The vendors that come are diverse and great to shop, although I can't remember the last time I made a purchase. Due to a smaller number of vendors, today's excursion was short - maybe 30 minutes. Thankfully it was set up in the lot of a local brewery so we grabbed a beer and lingered there. If you're pointed in the direction of The Flea, definitely pull over and browse; however, I can't recommend it as the destination or reason for your outing.

I partook of the Flea Off Market most recently at its annual indoor holiday bazaar, this year held at Mellwood Art Center. This included a couple of food trucks plus vendors set up throughout the two outside buildings at the art center. I also appreciate how well the Flea sets the mood for their markets, with DJs in each building and a bar where you can buy drinks. The Flea has always been more of an experience, where it's fun to shop and also to hang out. During this most recent market, I found several creative vendors that I wished I could buy from. I said to my friend who accompanied me, "I wish I had people cool enough on my Christmas list to buy some of these things for." Alas, I just had family on my list. ;-P Some of my favorite finds, though, included Georgia's Sweet Potato Pie Co. (also has a spot in the Highlands that's worth a visit!), SnoWhat, Eichen Design, FLY Girl Candles and Eden & Kissi (also has a physical location that you should go to in Buechel). I was also struck by the idea that I really need to make it a point to go to more of the Flea's outdoor markets next year so I can shop these great vendors not just at the holidays. Saying that, I don't enjoy visiting as much as I used to. Many of my favorite shops have left for other venues and I miss the grab & go food options (butcher shop, cheeses, etc.). I appreciated the general check out area for the upstairs shops. None of them have large spaces and I felt more comfortable browsing without the shop owner being there. The clerk greeted us, welcomed us and explained they were there to help. Street parking is available and unless there's an event at the market, it's easy to find a nearby spot.

The renewed programming -- yes yes! And the food selection is fun, with the addition of Mooncrust Cafe, Jerusalem Cafe and Full Arepa (at least since I last visited). We attended the Noon Year's Eve for kids, and it was great to get out with them, where we could also find food and drink we wanted as well. LSM was Louisville's first food hall, and I know several have popped up since then, but I will always have a spot in my heart for LSM. Happy to see it's still a neighborhood treasure.

There was a line out the door…read morewhen it opened and they were already sold out of several flavors by the time I made it inside. I was able to grab a cheesecake stuffed cookie and a slice of cookie butter cheesecake. The cookie was AWESOME! I ate it on my drive home. The cookie butter cheesecake but the flavor wasn't as strong as I had hoped. I would definitely go back to try their cheesecake brownie!

One day when I had the time to, that's exactly what I did, and it was worth it! These cheesecakes are delicious! My only complaint is that since people love these cheesecakes so much, some will go and buy like 50 at a time. I wish I was kidding. This can make it scary to know if you'll still manage to get one after waiting, which I've heard horror stories about from some people, but luckily I didn't have that problem.

Quick update to highlight a great new service I've discovered about Walgreens…read more DYK: You can schedule a flu shot (along with other immunizations) via Walgreens website? Getting a flu shot had been on my to-do list for the past month. I am the last in my house to get one, even including my pup. (Yep, in case you don't know, dogs need flu shots too.) So I went on Walgreens' site, chose my desired Walgreens location and chose my desired time. There were lots of openings. At my time, I went to the pharmacy, and the pharmacist had me sit at a chair by the pharmacy and gave me my shot -- red Walgreens Band-aid and all. I was done within about five minutes of walking in. And even better yet, my insurance covered 100 percent of the cost. When another immunization comes along -- fingers crossed, COVID-19 -- Walgreens might be a good option.
