We parked in the underground garage right at the concert hall for only $10, and the elevator brought us right up near the front entrance. We ate at the café before the performance, which was convenient and quite good. There was a nice selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and other choices, so all three of us found something we liked. Then came the real highlight: the concert. We were in Row E, almost directly in the center, and our view was incredible. Honestly, after looking around the hall, I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. The seating seems beautifully designed so you can see the stage from just about everywhere. The acoustics absolutely blew me away. From our seats, we could hear every instrument, from the most powerful moments of the orchestra to the lightest touch of the triangle and the tiniest rustle onstage. Swan Lake was breathtaking, and conductor Elim Chan was thrilling to watch. She was so animated and expressive that watching her became part of the experience. She brought so much energy and emotion to the music. During the final ten minutes, I had chills running down my spine and actually had a tear in my eye. It was that beautiful. An unforgettable evening of music with my daughters. Walt Disney Concert Hall is an extraordinary place to experience an orchestra, and I would absolutely go back.

The performance was even more amazing than we had imagined & so lively! Music | The LA Phil was incredible! The sounds of the different instruments, made a beautiful melody! The soft, beautiful, magical, fairytale-like sounds, as if butterflies are fluttering about were my favorite! I especially love the sound of the flutes! It was also incredible hearing the powerful, booming sounds, as the musicians played fiercely! It really stirred up excitement inside & made my heart race at times! Performance | Elim Chan & Masabane Rangwahasha | 100% fabulous! They were both incredible! It was amazing seeing a female conductor lead with so much passion, grace, as well as excitement! It's as if she was doing a beautiful yet powerful dance! Hearing the beautiful voice and talent radiating from Masabane, as she sang opera was mesmerizing! She stood confident, poised & proud and was a sight to be seen and heard! Walt Disney Concert Hall | Magical! I loved all of the curves and shapes of the building, both inside and outside, as well as the majestic shades and colors throughout! Drinks & Bites | I was excited to see refreshments, as I know, we were going to eat afterwards, but a light bite was perfect! I enjoyed a few bites of my chocolate brownie & my friend and I had a glass of red wine! Our bartender was awesome! I believe he was located on the fourth floor, personality plus, thanks again! I recently just watched a musical here at the Ahmanson Theatre here in Los Angeles…read more I've been here once before many years ago to watch Mary Poppins. I don't live too far away from here but it's always a trek coming down to downtown LA. And the tickets I received is said to park in the music center garage. Parking was $10 and really efficient. It took a while to get our bearings to find out where we could park and what was available. And at the very end, it was actually pretty efficient to get out of there as well. We're on level P6 and we were directed to go down towards the lower level and everything was very efficient to then come back up to the surface.. It's a beautiful venue. It's not huge, but they're able to make great use of the space. We sat in the balcony and got a great view and we were able to see everything fairly well. There are lots of concession stands throughout and you're even able to pre-order drinks and snacks and beverages for the intermission. Overall, it's a great venue, it's even closer to me than the Pantages, where they have a lot of other musicals as well. We caught a great show here too. This is definitely a hidden gem that I'll be excited to come back to again in the future when there are future events. Everything is so well organized and it was a great experience.

Some great things with the venue but a few negatives that for me have a higher weight in my…read moreexperience compared to other theatres. Positives: -If you're driving, once you get through traffic to DTLA it's just off the freeway with beyond reasonable parking at $10. If you're taking public transit its not a far walk from the Civic Center/Grand Park stop; roughly 10 minutes. -They have a 15% processing fee for online ticket purchases vs 20% at the Pantages. Negatives: -They do programs here vs playbills so as a collector it's a really big letdown that it won't fit in your playbill binder, frame, etc. as the programs are larger. -Esthetically it has almost a collegiate lecture hall vibe to it with the wood paneling and tan seats. There's no drama or emotion within the building. -The staff here seems less invested in the productions. I've only been to 2 shows and the staff didn't seem to be consistent/care if people were filming the show on their phones. I saw them approach one person in front of me but allowed another person a few seats over to film. Any other theatre I've been to in LA or New York they are very strict about filming with some even making you delete the video immediately in front of them. -Each row is about 30-45 seats so if you're in the middle you're either stuck or going to be bothering a lot of people to exit. Contrast this to the Pantages which is on average 7-14 seats per row.

Story was alright enough, ending is always something that needs work, but never happens (Ive been to many many delusions. At least 8...All are anticlimactic ) Sound needs a bit of work. Either too overbearing , or feels artificial to the situation If this was last years I would not have recommended, but this one was enjoyable with good performances and nice effects. Usually there is one big 'wow' effect but didn't feel it like I did in years past. Wanted to note the actress that plays in the pleasure scenario was very good. Also they should work on involving more people, not just picking the same person I always say would I go again? Because wow it just keeps going up price wise. Also their ordering system has glitches that need fixing. It was stressful Its wild to think I paid $45.00 back in 2012. Now it was around $150.00 each for a Saturday not including parking . Damn

It's a 5 minute walk, but it was an intense one. On my way from the parking lot to the venue, I didn't realize the venue was on the left side of the street. I didn't jaywalk, and went to the stop light to walk across. The bus stop lets off on the right side of the street, and there were random people either hanging out(?) in chairs and such on the sidewalk. I was fine, but the walk was a bit stressful. There's a parking lot directly across from the venue and I think it's $30, if you are alone that would be a better choice. But it's manageable. ADA: I didn't see any chairs whatsoever, it's standing room only and did not see anyone using a wheelchair or mobility tool. It would be difficult to see if you're in a wheelchair from the back. The front may work. The restrooms are located on the left side of the venue so there's a lot of people walking to get there. I saw a lot of people standing by the wall on the left side, so in that area towards the front may work. Smoking: They have a small smoking area outside. There's only one way in/out so if people are closer towards the entrance you'll have to excuse yourself to get past them and go back inside. Sound: I wore earplugs, but the sound quality was great!!

I have been to Paris, once, but that still counts. I climbed the Eiffel tower at night with the…read morelights glowing. I have seen the Mona Lisa and was impacted by her smile that seemed to move on its own. And ever since then I have loved Parisian culture because, after that trip, I understood that the city of lights producses so much to love and adore. It is the city that empowered Quasimoto to find his inner beauty. It is the city that had a rat control a human via its hair. It is the city that gifted the world with croissant and funny mustaches. It is the city that gave us french cheese, a queen who let others eat cake, and the guillotine because, I mean, what would a Tale of Two cities be without a guillotine. In short, I can can for gay Paree. Thus, it was only natural to attend a Bastille Day celebration to pay homage to the city of lights and butter. This celebration, I can describe as a capsule celebration. Meaning that the day did not have parades or avenue closures in its name. All the celebration was centered in this courtyard. If one has not attended the plaza, then imagine a micro Hollywood bowl. Meaning that if the Hollywood Bowl was a cupcake, this place would be a tic-tac, not a gum drop. But still, with the festivities of Bastille lighting the spot, it became a firework on display. This might seem obvious but I really enjoyed sitting on the courtyards steps and hearing french music from the stage. And I did not just like the music because it heard good, but also what it produce amongst some of the attendants-- a light-hearted frivolity that could only be expressed in melody and jaunty step. The singers explained that they were about to sing a classic french song. One that paid homage to its famous avenue: Champs-Élysées. As they were hearing words that I could barely recognized, a woman behind me started to sing as well. I turned back, we made eye contact and for a second she serenated me with the words Champs-Élysées. I felt her love for her land in her words. For a micro-second that lasted french minutes, I was back in the land of french cheese and pastries. The note she carried in her song were the tickets I needed to see Paris, even briefly again. I also saw the dancers. Not paid ones. Regular people dancing in front of the stage. I saw a man and a woman dance care free amongst many. He twirled her. She followed. It was melody in movement. Their joyful moves were mine as well. I experienced love for the French countryside through their dance. I guess national pride is contagious. The singers also played a song in English but with a French Accent. L is for the way you look tonight. It was a great afternoon. I also have no power to resist buying stuff at festivals. So I bought some french breads and a charcuterrie board. Me and my friend had it later as a snack, and it was the morsels that make Paris great. This review was tied to Bastille day. But I incldued a picture of all the different concerts. If you want a suggestion, grab a picnic lunch from very nearby Grand Central Market and experience your own music choice amonst DTLA buildings. Recently, I was here for LA Opera Verdi's Falstaff. Previous to this visit, I have never been to an opera only performance, besides having one as part of a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall or watching them on PBS. I read the summary first prior to attending and all the information provided on the website was very helpful (from parking, opera summary, etc.), especially for first time visitors. Despite a road closure nearby, it was still pretty easy to get into the parking structure and walk over to the Pavilion. We arrived early to pick up your tickets and use the restroom prior to the performance. With any "subtitles", they often tend to be to the side, so I often had to look to the right and back to the stage to understand what they were singing about. The stage did not look as big as I expected, but when the sets were switched, I was amazed at the beautiful sets and also how "grand" they looked from my seat. During the intermission, there were snacks and drinks one could purchase. I love that they also offered throat drops to the side, which some patrons should probably have used as they were coughing during the performance. The lines to the women's restroom were also coordinated, as if one was at Disneyland. We were lucky enough to zip through the roped-off lines early on before the lines really started to get long. We also stepped out for air prior to the intermission being over. There were "pre-" and "post-" performance talks and I wished that I was able to hear where the post-performance talk was going to be. I had left after the applause to hurry and use the restroom, so I missed the location announcement of the post-performance talks. Yes, I could have asked an employee but my friend had also already walked outside of the venue. The Music Center also had an "art" installation next door, in a small space so we also checked it out before we left. The performance was wonderful and the employees we encountered were very kind. It was easy to get to and from the venue, from the parking structure. It is a great location and would recommend a visit at least once.
