The only thing the Wife and I could agree on while planning our wedding…read more
My wife and I were complete opposites when it came to planning our wedding. She wanted the traditional wedding - DJ, bouquet toss, plated chicken dinner, etc. Me on the other hand, wanted something different, crazy, and outrageous. I knew for sure, I wanted live entertainment. While surfing the internet and figuring out possible entertainment options, I stumbled on Josh's YouTube Channel. After watching his Hip-Hop Melody, I was sold.
I was reluctant to bring this to Annie, because I was afraid she would shoot down this idea and then beat me after. However, it turns out, she thought Josh was pretty badass too. I e-mailed his booking agent and we got the ball rollin'.
It turns out, Josh lives 10 minutes from my house. We met up at a Starbucks to go over our expectations and what we needed from him. He brought a lot of ideas to the table, and I remember asking him for a playlist of songs he can perform. He looked at me and said "Anything you want". For real? I knew this guy was pretty good on YouTube, but "anything I want?" I was skeptical.
So the next couple days I gathered music, edited playlist, and sent them over to Josh. I must have bombarded him with 50 million texts, 900 songs, and 250 revisions to our playlist. Josh was patient AND he proved me wrong. He welcomed me over to his house and literally freestyle every song I sent him (and they were all pretty amazing).
At the day of the event, Josh was very punctual. He brought his equipment, got plugged in and was ready to rock. During the ceremony, he played a couple classical songs. Cocktail hour, we asked him to do more R&B/Rock like, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift, Ray J...etc). During dinner, he played really upbeat songs from artists such as Michael Jackson, Busta Rhymes, Britney Spears, Wiz Khalifa, etc. Our guests were clapping and cheering during dinner and his performance brought a lot of energy for the night. Even grandma and grandpa had a great time.
Here are some of my favorite YouTube Clips of his performance:

A little about my credentials:
Being an Asian kid, I was required to play the piano. I didn't enjoy it, but I played throughout most of my life because:
1) My mom would kick my ass if I didn't practice.
2) I thought by learning to play the piano could help me serenade crushes I had in elementary school.
I never got good, hence, I was single for most of my life. But I did learn to enjoy music. We literally checked out 6-7 different live entertainment options and Josh Vietti demolished his competition.
