Not one night of drag, but two nights in a row. Yes, I know how to party! I was in town for an…read moreevent and there were drag shows available for the attendees to come watch. My wife and I were excited to check it out-we love drag queens. The first night, we arrived about 30 minutes after the show began and found that it was jam packed. We were standing back by the bar and had very limited visibility to the stage. After about 40 minutes of not being able to see, we left. But we returned the next day, much earlier, and were able to stand closer to the stage. People are respectful of each other and welcoming to all. I appreciate that the emcee (I forget her name) made it a point to welcome people who were drinking alcohol as well as those that wanted non-alcoholic options, which the bar offers. I appreciate that. She also reminded everyone about consent-specifically about taking picture and video, which was sadly ignored by some patrons. But overall, I felt like it was a safe space. Bartenders were friendly and attentive, as were all the staff that we interacted with. My one complaint was the condition of the bathroom. Look, I don't care what your biological gender or gender identify are, but please don't pee on the toilet seat. Both the stall that I used as well as the one my wife used were covered in urine. That's just gross-no matter who you are.

Started a tab where they don't keep your credit card and they have a sign that states that they charge 20% to it if you don't close out. I was ok with the 20% charge since I would probably leave that amount for a tip anyway and almost didn't close out and just leave. I did decide to go to the bar and close out and found out that there were bogus charges on my tab for a drink that we didn't have and for ear plugs we didn't have as well. When I pointed this out to the bartender, she knew exactly which items were not mine and removed them without me pointing them out. This tells me that she knew which charges were bogus and I consider this fraud and theft. No matter how nice it is, I can't go to a place that I can't trust.

There were two other ladies that were behind the bar and in the back, but never engaged or seemed to care about patrons. At about 530 a man shows up at our table with an event badge around his neck and said that he is not an employee of the tequila room, but wanted to inform us that there is a private party or event going on and he wasn't kicking us out, but basically that we needed to leave our table. We obviously found this to be extremely rude that we number one we were not ever told that there was going to be a private event happening around 5:30. We also thought that it should not have been someone from the outside telling us that there's an event that we needed to go. very poor business. When we left with such haste and paid our bill, we didn't realize that we were overcharged on happy hour appetizers. Happy hour appetizers supposed to be half off.
