Public art is one of my favorite things in the world. Wherever I travel, I look for murals and graffiti, wheatpasted posters on the sides of buildings, signs tacked up to telephone poles. The need to create is very wholesome and pure, and I love that people do it in public spaces for other people to enjoy for free.
When I visited Jeffersonville a few months ago, I came across this area that had a lot of public art everywhere -- The Depot at NoCo. The temperature outside was about 17 degrees, but I got out of my car and looked at the art and took photos until my fingers were freezing. This area has many colorful, beautiful murals, a story walk, and space to congregate.
There were zero people around when I was there, which makes sense because it was the winter and the temperature was below freezing. But I imagine that in the warmer months, this place is hoppin'. read more
