Great service! Sam and Aaron were a huge help. Walked in with not very much bow experience and an old Hoyt that needed some service. They made recommendations without trying to hard sell me on expensive equipment. Got me set up with new sights and took me to their indoor range to get sighted in. Offered great tips and suggestions. I got to say all these Soldiers on FT Hood love this place because they don't know how good a real bow shop is. The one on S Fort Hood street is terrible. I went there for a new D loop ($6 anywhere else) but they acted like they were going to seriously help me out by "tuning" my bow without even asking, kept taking it in the back to shoot it then told me to try it out a few times to make sure the D loop is secure and I get hit with a $160 fee for them helping out when I just wanted a D loop. Whole time homeboy is talking to other people about how he's on a tv show and his plans for life while I'm getting charged by the time I spend in the store. Meanwhile I go to a different place and they restring my bow for $50 and charge me $0 for helping. read more

I went to the S Ft Hood St location but I don't see it listed on yelp....anyway, as a 100%, absolute zero, square one bowhunting beginner, I could not have hoped for a better place to go to get started. Mike spent about 2.5 hours to teach me how to shoot and try out different bows. There was also no pressure to buy expensive or even buy at all. Mike seemed surprised when I said I wanted to buy. In the end, I went with a Hoyt Pro Defiant and again, could not be more pleased with my experience here. read more

I bought a lever gun at Nocked & Loaded from salesman Chris. A week later I was able to get the proper caliber ammo for it and found the gun didn't work. It would not lift and chamber a round. I had not intended to buy a broke gun and I didn't think I should spend money on repairs when I payed alot in good faith for what was supposed to be a properly working gun. I returned to the store and asked Chris for my money back. He lied and said he couldn't. I asked to talk to the manager or the owner of the store. He lied and said that was impossible. He showed the gun to his so-called gunsmith. His worthless lying "gunsmith" said it was my ammo that was defective. I then took the gun to a real gunsmith who told me what he thought was actually wrong with the gun. He repaired it and fixed two other things that weren't right with it as well. There was nothing wrong with my ammo or any other ammo I have since bought for it. The total bill came to $450 to get the gun working properly. I should not have had to spend hundreds of dollars to get ANYTHING fixed considering what I payed for it. I emailed Nocked & Loaded and asked to be reimbursed for at least some of the repairs considering they sold me a defective gun for the price of a good one. Amanda, the owner emailed me back saying she would check on it --twice. That was over a month ago and haven't heard anything more from them. Apparently... lying, cheating and robbing customers is company policy at Nocked & Loaded. Nothing but a bunch of dirty crooks. I swear. read more

If I could give Nocked & Loaded 6 stars I would. I'm a beginner bow hunter and went to Sam for help. Sam took 3 1/2 hours (yes, 3 1/2) out of his busy day to set me up--beginning to end. He made sure my new bow fit me perfectly, adjusted the draw weight, tuned it, sighted it in, hooked me up w/ all of the accessories I needed...and even gave me a one-on-one lesson to teach me how to shoot. To say that Sam goes above and beyond for his customers is a complete understatement. He was incredibly patient with me and made sure I understood what he was saying. Bottom Line: I don't image you will find anyone better. Great staff, selection and prices. I had never shot a bow until I went to Nocked and Loaded. I owned a bow, but didn't know what I needed to go with it or even how to string it (recurve). Sam waxed the string, strung the bow, set the brace height and the nock. Not only did Sam do it, he carefully explained what he was doing (and why it needs to be done) so that I could do it next time. The next step he grabbed some arrows and took me back into the range. Sam demonstrated how to properly use the bow, and then coached me through several rounds. I tested a few different arrows so he could determine the best fit for me. I got all of this, and barely spent anymore than I would have shopping online. Beyond having exceptional prices, their service was something the internet will never be able to provide. I came down to get my peep sight fixed and I got told In a very rude manner that I'd have to drop my bow off until Tuesday. Today is Saturday. They have horrible customer relations and were in no way helpful to me or my friend. Won't be back here for anything. read more

Decided I wanted to purchase a compound bow and heard good things about Nocked & Loaded so I drove from Georgetown Texas to see what they had. I had recently visited the local archery shop but due to the low inventory and poor customer service I decided to check elsewhere and I'm glad I did. Nocked had lots of bows, arrows, targets, blinds, etc. (as well as guns) and the customer service was excellent. I was helped by Mark and another gentleman and the two of them couldn't have been more gracious. In fact, ALL of their employees were friendly and helpful. As a newbie I'm sure I looked pretty stupid at times while shooting the Hoyt I bought but they were encouraging the entire time. Don't be afraid to drive the extra miles since it is well worth the experience. At the end of the day anyone can sell you a product but it's how you're treated that counts. read more
