Very laid back, the person in charge was wonderful, funny, helpful and very friendly. The wine wad a lovely selection of sweet, fruit and dry vintages, my favorite was a surprising jalapeño wine which I liked very much and purchased a bottle, I did not see any food offered but would still recommend trying them out for a fun and delicious treat, recommend 100%

How deep does your history-nerd gene go? The answer will really inform how much you like this…read moremuseum. Sure, your six year-old is going to have a meltdown in here. But the fact is that this 3-in-1 museum does a pretty good job of memorializing three pretty consequential history lessons, all of which have legitimate direct ties to the area. The National Road is a terrific representation of the (ultimately successful) attempt by the early United States to expand to the west. Zane Grey was an astoundingly successful writer of ballads with Western themes, a genre that dominated and still informs our national identity. And the development and flourishing of Zanesville pottery is a consequence of the local geology and emblematic of the rise and fall of American industry. And the artefacts for all three themes are really pretty amazing. The 50+-year-old diorama of the National Road is massive, in wonderful condition, and does a great job of representing a lot of the themes of its construction. The circa-1900 Conestoga Wagon is stunning. And the Zane Grey memorabilia and pottery samples are both about as good as you can imagine. Also, if you're lucky like we were, you'll time your visit right and get a guided tour from a dedicated and well-informed volunteer. When your tour guide is enthusiastic, how can you not be too? All of that said, I think my own experience here was ultimately mixed. The exhibits and descriptions get into the weeds well (our tour guides loved the speculative word-origin stories of the likes of "stogie" and "stump" and "pothole"), but I'd have preferred a little more with a broader lens. There could use a little more context and modernization. For the National Road, there's not a lot of context about expanding into Shawnee territory in the early 19th century. I'd have liked to see the museum highlight better the broader context of transportation in the 19th century, including railroads and rivers and canals as part of the greater context. And for Zane Grey, a similar contextualization of the western mystique and American culture.

Obviously there are the…read more National Road and Zane Grey Museums but also housed in this complex is a museum devoted to local pottery. The museums are operated by the Ohio Historical Connection. The lady at the front desk said you could take a self-guided tour or that they also offered guided tours. We opted for the guided tour and has a very enthusatic young man as our guide. Harry was very knowledgeable about the three museums and gave an excellent - although a bit long - tour of the museums. The National Road section of the museum includes a large diaroma of the national road and the history of the road. There are numerous exhibits including an old Conestoga wagon, various sleighs, and vintage and antique automobils. The Zane Grey part of the museum contains a recreation of his writing studio and a history of his work. Zane Grey wrote all his books in long hand. His wife then typed them on a old typewrtier and supposedly corrected his spelling and grammar while typing. Finally, the local pottery museum has an excellent collection of local and regional pottery. The tour guide gave a good explanation of the processes used in the crafting of pottery. The museum is just off of I-70 at Norwich. Allow 1-2 hours - depending on how much you want to absorb.

There is usually missing ceiling or heavily water-stained tiles. Some of the screens have wrinkles. The men's restroom is a disgusting mess. There are 2 urinals, and at least one is always broken or missing. There are 3 toilets and there is at least one that's out of commission every visit to this theatre. We have been this theatre twice this month and they still have no ice for the drinks. Nothing ever gets fixed at this theatre. There are usually 4 to 5 people working behind the counter but still only one line open to sell tickets and concessions. I cost me $31.00 for 2 matinee tickets and concessions way more than a streaming service for a month. I enjoy going to the movie theatre once in a while but at these prices and the overall experience at this theatre are not worth it.

WOW! I love the fact that the plant had everything it needed to be self sufficient and that it produced glass even in the hardest of times. This museum is well worth the $6.00. We had a guided tour throughout and the Tour Guide was AMAZING. Very knowledgeable with the history and she herself has ties to its history. Worth the visit. Kids may not enjoy it but they do have some interactive stuff that will keep them occupied for a while. Stop...You will enjoy it.

It is Eye Candy galore! There is a history lesson here, if you choose to partake, & rows upon rows of glass displayed by color batch in beautifully lit cases. Then there little nooks of separate displays & a Victorian style dining room set for Christmas dinner. Swoon! The Volunteers who work here, yes - they are all volunteers, are exemplary. Their knowledge of the pieces & of the glass making processes will "blow" you away! Everytime I've visited I've left knowing something I didn't know before. There is a small gift shop at the front & they will happily box your item & even ship! You do have to pay for shipping. They are truly experts at packaging items safely. I've had several boxes shipped to my home in Atlanta without any problems at all! Great Job Volunteers! The building is not super exciting from the exterior but you're wise enough not to judge a book by its cover! There is a small private parking lot just for the museum next to the building so usually there's no trouble with parking. Word to the wise: you will be here longer than you thought you would. If George isn't "into" glass, tell him go get a sandwich & come back in 2 hours! Also, this isn't a good place for children unless they are EXTREMELY well behaved & I mean it. They wouldn't have much fun here so why put yourself through it. Your experience here will be a memory of a lifetime. My ancestors worked in the glass factory in Cambridge many years ago which I'd never known until just a few years ago thanks to some great volunteers who shared that with me so I have many reasons to hold Cambridge dear to my heart. Lastly & very important- this isn't Costo - please CHECK their operating hours before planning a visit. They are not open full time year round. You would be so disappointed to travel a distance & find that they're not open. Check their website or call first. You're in for a treat!
