The sturdiness and beauty of the bricks. The many entrances. The cannon in the North endzone. The band intermingled in the student section. Ohio University has a beautiful campus and Peden Stadium is a great compliment. Again, I did mention my bias, the restrooms do have lots of room for improvement and the lines for the concession stand could be improved. I'm going to focus on the positive. There is not a bad seat in the house! Athens and the Bobcats know how to put on a show. Rufus coming leading the football team out on a Harley is a great bonus! As I believe in supporting local, I also believe in supporting small, supporting the little guy. If you have not been to an event at Peden Stadium splurge the $12 give or take a little and get there. You will have an amazing time. Remember, I warned you about the restrooms, and I'm holding out that someday they renovate them all!

With just a couple of weeks left in the regular season, the NHl's Columbus Blue Jackets had a…read morechance to make the playoffs. Long story short, they snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. I went to one of those games at Nationwide Arena and this is my story. I was able to get a level 200 ticket from a third party and with a $20 coupon the total cost was $45. See my photo for the view from my seat. There are several parking garages around the arena. The farther the garage is away from the arena the higher the cost. Figure $10 to $25 to park, I lucked out at $10 that night and it was only a 5 minute walk. There is street parking but you have to be really lucky. Uber drivers are not permitted near the arena so you will end up walking anyway Hockey has 3 periods with an intermission between periods 1 & 2, and 2 & 3. Nationwide arena has numerous and diversified concession stands. They have concessions that cater to dietary choices. Get out is is also easy. Streets are blocked off to create one way traffic. Traffic is flowing out is directed one way so that cars are not cutting lanes. I'm still proud to be a member of the Fifth line.

Cooper Stadium was a minor league baseball stadium that was packed full of people and one of the heartbeats of the smaller Columbus Sports Scene that is in the shadow of OSU. I enjoyed coming here twice. It was a great place to watch game and I did so twice, but sadly it's been torn down now, recently in fact. It will be missed.

In 2009, a new stadium will supposedly be ready in the Arena District for the Clippers. Still, the history of Cooper will be missed. Though any of the AAA team's games here are a blast, the time to come is Dime a Dog night. Every Monday when the team plays at home, hot dogs are available for $.10. It's not uncommon to see folks with boxes of them. And there's is Leinenkugel's on tap too! Columbus gets a lot of grief for not hosting pro teams from any of the "big three" sports. The Clippers are an asset, though, and a game is a great way to spend a summer evening.

They did a good job manufacturing it and I like it a lot, despite having only been here twice and they were more than a decade apart. And the Wheeling Nailers play here. Bob Marley would be proud of the Wheeling Wailers. Oh wait. Well if you want to get nailed, maybe ask the Nailers. So this is an excellent sports team in a small city that deserves a sports team. They get plenty of support from the locals, and if you want to show local pride, come and check out a game and see grassroots sport in America. And it's pretty cheap too.

Where do I even start…read more I traveled to Ohio for a Drake concert in 2024 and while the show itself was great, there were props and other items blocking my view that made it really hard to see. I contacted Ticketmaster who told me it was the arenas issue. When I reached out to the arena they basically said I should have gone to customer service during the concert. Honestly who even knows to do that in the middle of a show. After several emails back and forth, customer service eventually offered me tickets to another concert as compensation. I picked Justin Timberlake which again required traveling. The night before leaving, the concert was cancelled and rescheduled. Not the arenas fault, but the notice came way too late for me to cancel my hotel. When it was rescheduled, I traveled from Chicago to Columbus and my friend flew in from Houston and while we were literally on our way to the arena the concert was cancelled again. At that point I was beyond frustrated because what are the odds. I had been in communication with LaToya who said she was working with her supervisor to make this right, but after that I followed up multiple times and got completely left on read. I started a new email thread and the last message I got months ago was just sorry. This is a multi million dollar industry and they could not care less about how customers are affected, the costs, the travel, the time, the hotels. It is extremely disappointing and I never heard back again. And now it is 2026 smh. Now the Director, Brook wants to finally respond and flex her muscle. I loved everything about our experiences here! I'd definitely do this again!

It was magical attending my first ever Ohio State game here at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, OH. For a…read more7:30pm primetime game in early October, I got to watch the defending national champion and #1 ranked Buckeyes play against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Just standing in front of Ohio Stadium was a surreal feeling. Affectionately known as "The Horseshoe", it is an iconic landmark in college football. Opened in 1922, fast forward 100 years later and the stadium is still in terrific condition. Capacity says 102,780 yet towards the end of the 3rd quarter, an announcement was made over the loudspeakers that attendance reached 105,000 for this game. Just an incredible number! It's like...the entire city of Columbus, OH comes together and celebrates Ohio State football and their rich heritage and gridiron success on Saturday gamedays. I purchased my ticket about 1 week ahead of time on TickPick and paid $150 (all included) for a seat in Section 26C and Row 40, near the top of the visiting side stands. The seat was parallel to the 30-yard line and views were unobstructed. I had no complaints about sitting too high up. My only issue was the timing of buying my ticket. When re-checking prices the day of the game, I realized had I waited and done more price discovery, similar seats in my section were going for just $40. Ouch! I paid way too much, lol. But still, for being a lifelong college football fan, no real price mattered in the end. It's about having memories that are priceless. In fact, just the week prior to this Ohio State game, I attended a "Whiteout Game" at Penn State and paid $450 for a seat. Ohio Stadium allows fans to enter through the gates 2 full hours before kickoff. During that time, I walked around the exterior of the stadium. My best photos came from the backside entrance near the tennis courts. Yeah, if you walk towards the endzone side of "the horseshoe", you'll discover tennis courts and if you keep walking behind the courts, you'll notice Ohio Stadium in the background and in my opinion, it's worthy of a picture. Off to the side of the tennis courts is a cool Ohio Statue statue that fans were taking photos in front of. It said..."The Incomparable Script Ohio, Established 1936". For this 7:30pm game, Ohio State's team entrance onto the field was electric. Fireworks shot out from behind the scoreboard like a cannon and made for an incredibly colorful display in the sky with the fading sunset. Every time Ohio State scored a touchdown, more shooting fireworks lit up the night. Also behind the stadium scoreboard were 2 residential towers lit up in red. Not sure if these red towers shine every evening or just for Ohio State games. It was cool looking nonetheless. Ohio State dominated the game from start to finish. They defeated Minnesota 42 -3, so by the time the 4th quarter started, half the stadium was empty. I stayed until the end regardless. Who knows when I'll be able to return to Columbus for another game, so I savored every moment. Finally, I must give total credit to Ohio State's band. They were fantastic. Throughout the game they played the school's signature song..."Hang On Sloopy", a tradition since 1965 made famous by The McCoys. After the game was completed, the band continued playing Hang On Sloopy as they marched out of Ohio Stadium, ending another Ohio State game in classic fashion. Overall, it was a true joy to visit Ohio Stadium and watch the Buckeyes play football in primetime. Long been a To-Do List sports goal of mine, sitting beside 105,000 fans rooting for Ohio State was an indescribable feeling that every college football fan should experience. Thanks for having me Buckeyes.

The leather stadium seats were one of the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in my life. Down to the field level where the Band enters and to their practice area. A quick trip around to the locker room and then down the tunnel players enter the field from, very cool. Of course we got to go on the field and grab some photos. What a great adventure !
