I want to take a moment to recognize Virginia Ansah for being an outstanding success coach. Although I have never personally met Virginia, her support has made a huge difference in my college experience. She is the reason I understand what is happening at this college, what resources are available, and how to stay informed and moving in the right direction. Virginia is truly great at what she does. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and dedicated to helping students succeed. Her ability to guide and encourage students is a skill that should be shared, and I believe she would be an excellent person to train other success coaches. Had an online adviser that basically said to me "do it yourself, you're going to be alright) type of attitude every time I ask her what I should take. Told her that two courses on the online Journalism program has in person, can't make it to the in person courses, I'm miles away from the school. That means it's technically not online. Took classes that wasn't necessary for me because of her poor advising and poor degree planning. But they get mad at me for asking too many questions. For the love of God, don't contact Financial Aid, Bursars office, anything that involves money and question anything. They get a (what makes you think that?) attitude. Honestly, they kind of owe me for the poopy adviser that they assigned to me. All in all, they talk to you like you're stupid af. Had a professor that gotten me in trouble for plagiarism, but she wasn't nowhere to be found when I had a question to ask her... a week after I asked her, and the question was practically irrelevant and I had to find the answer on my own, she gotten me in trouble. read more

This is probably one of the prettiest campuses I have ever been to. There is always something going on or a party to attend. Ask for all the life on Court St, it offers a variety of shops and good eats at a different range of prices. I don't go to school there so I don't really know how classes themselves are, but when it comes to everything else, the school is def a lively one. I'm sure fall and spring are some of the most beautiful times to walk around campus. read more

I'll state up front I'm not a graduate of Ohio University. This being my first glimpse, it's a beautiful tight knit, compacted campus. Everything is close by and relatively easy to get to walking or by car. Brick and white trim is the motif. Brick roads add to the old splendor (but doesn't make for the smoothest driving, as you'll encounter plenty of bumpy patches). OU is know for their excellent journalism and communications majors, and that particular building is prominently placed front and center on the campus. You can't miss it. If you don't see it, then I'm not sure your at the right college. The several sports arenas are pretty spiffy. You're able to see into Peden Stadium from the road and see the beautifully manicured turf field and stands. By the looks of the outside they have a nice recreation/aquatics center, too. It's a blessing from above the outer belts around Lancaster and Nelsonville; makes the commute from Columbus a breeze compared to 20 years ago! read more

This school is the scum of the earth. Why am I wasting my time and money to attend horribly taught classes by selfish and poor professors. I recently attended a community college before Ohio University and boy do I wish I could go back. I've learned absolutely nothing here. The only thing this joke of a school cares about is money. MONEY MONEY MONEY. No wonder their enrollment is way down. People are starting to realize these state schools are the biggest scam you could ever fall for. Ohio University should be ashamed of all the money they take away from students and them not providing anything back. If you're looking for a school to attend, you'd be an absolute idiot to choose Ohio University. read more

I love it so much I got a tattoo....seriously, This place can party with anyone but the students are sober by two onTuesday....I have worked side by side with some bright future professionals as well. My experience at Ohio University was 100% life-changing. The quaint campus and City of Athens is a safe and accessible place at any hour of the day. No need for a car. Not to mention the beauty of the leaves in the fall or the snow-covered College Green are some of the most charming sites you'll come to love. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. During my time at OU, not only did I receive countless opportunities to get involved on campus- I was able to use my resources to gain new experiences off campus. For example, I was selected to participate in a Business Plan Competition at Texas Christian University. I participated in two study abroad programs- one 3 week program in China and one semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary. I also completed an internship at Quicken Loans in Cleveland, OH where I am from, and an internship at Intel in Portland, OR. I couldn't have made these connections without the support of the Office of Career Management and professors who had a vested interest in my personal growth. Through various student organizations, I was able to grow my network through corporate visits across the country. Currently, I am beginning my dream in Washington DC where I have the opportunity to make a big impact in the education technology space.
