Furniture in general you can find anywhere in Miami, but I write this review because I found spectacular pieces there, seriously contemporary beauties that i hadn't seen (very innovative), prices, customer care and hospitality in High Style, i felt were unique. You walk in the store and see marvelous pieces of furniture spread around in different ambients. They seem to have a technique, and to understand the customer who is just walking in, THEY LET U BREATHE; they don't chase you around, forcing you to feel uncomfortable. I was looking to furnish my dining room, and so I did. The prices are actually lower than any other place I visited. I did not only furnish my didning room with them, but decided to return the bed I had bought at another store earlier that week, because High Style's "in-stock" rate and availability, as well as fast delivery was greatly a positive factor. Their customer service is really TWO THUMBS up. The owner attended me with care, humour and the hospitality was tremendous. I was even served with coffee and at times they offered cake or cookies, things they would buy accross the street to make feel at home or in a comfortable and unique, shopping environment. At times I still go, to check out what new things they receive, they are very dynamic with their stock, which i consider positive, since I like to change around the style of my house. As a decorator, I've worked with many stores, High Style was the most friendly of all. They treat everyone (whether buying a table lamp to furnishing their whole house), with extreme care and equal hospitality. Although the high traffic of people, they still manage to care for each with equal care, that I admire. They offer a great variety of services, such as remodeling, all around the house and out of it furniture, and any decoration, thus their slogan "furniture, accessories and art", to chich i think they might be able to include; and remodeling... I am pretty sure their Sunny Isles Location was closed because the terrain was sold or a deal of the sort was made, and they found a new Location in The Diplomat Landing, a vivid shopping mall in front of the Diplomat Hotel in hollywood or hallandale, not sure of the city. Hope it goes all well there as it was before, can't wait until the re oppening, and to maybe hang out there or pass by for a cup of coffee and entertaining hospitality...

The design consultant who greeted us and was such a pleasure to interact with, Johnny, gave us a tour of the space while he filled us in on the details of the store. The story is originally from Naples, and they recently expanded to open their first showroom on the east coast. So happy they ventured close to us! To my surprise I was informed that they focused on high-end outdoor furniture. In my life have I ever seen such beautiful patio furniture. He explained that they carried some of the best brands from Brown Jordan to Tuucci umbrellas to Vondom, and a few interior design companies that are now doing outdoor like Palechek and Bernhardt. Also, I happy to learn of a company called Pollywood that specialize in patio furniture made of 100% recycled milk jugs. Imagine yourself at home on your deck, backyard, poolside, or high rise balcony with beautiful outdoor furniture! What an awesome way to create a gorgeous outdoor space! Shocked...got management involved, they agreed to return two. This was Feb. 2, and to date have not received my credit on my statement. (over 800.00 dollars). They are rude and condescending. When buying the original 5, each one comes with a battery and charging cord in a small plastic bag. I had two lanters with no kit bag attached and asked for them. One of the workers there looked up, rolled his eyes, and said in the snottiest voice ever, "Geez, how many screwdrivers do you need?" My daughter and I were shocked...what if I was buying gifts for people...am I supposed to gift with no charger or appropriate size screwdriver to take off the top? I was so uncomfortable, and just said that I would like to charge them at the same time, to use them adequately. Never mind that I had just spent 2700.00 on lanterns. So now we are fighting over a credit that they have not given, yet they have the returned lanterns. Stay away from this place. Such a joke. They do not care at all about the customer.

Checking out the Christmas lights every holiday season always brings me joy. A family home display…read morethat should not be missed is the Soflo Christmas house in Hollywood near the Seminole guitar hotel. The family who own the home moved there in 2001. Each year they added a bit more to their holiday decorations. In 2006 they purchased their first control box to synchronize the lights to music. The display grew and they have been featured in the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun Sentinel, and on television. The Soflo Christmas house is on a corner so it is decorated to the nines on two sides with 50 inflatables, decorations, Christmas trees, and 250,000 lights synchronized to music every 30 minutes on the half hour and hour. During part of the show the inflatables are deflated to better see the lights. Although the show is free, the family that runs it accepts donations for St. Vincent de Paul food for the poor. An honorable mention goes to the house directly across the street that has the spirit too with a ton of lights and a yard full of inflatables.
