They are a kind and compassionate family oriented business that genuinely cares about your pet! They are reasonably priced, knowledgeable, experienced and make you feel like you are part of the family. Support your local veterinarian, your best friend deserves it! Where did all the veterinarians go? As you may know the health care industry in the US is in crisis mode, nurses and MDs are in short supply and staffing is a problem everywhere. Did you also know local veterinarians are closing their doors due to not having enough staff to keep the doors open and not having the ability to sell their medications? Complicating this is the internet. With Amazon and big box stores like Chewy, 800 pet meds, ect. are putting your local veterinarians out of business!!! Even the emergency vets are being affected, Blue Pearl and Ann Arbor animal hospital are now only open during daytime business hours, no evening, nights, or holiday hours. 2 months ago Leo needed to go to the vet emergently on a Sunday evening, I could not find any vet open that was able to help us, what A HELPLESS FEELING! And the ones that I could find open were hours away and had wait lists up to 8 hours to get into see a vet!! Dollars are tight everywhere, everyone wants to save cash wherever possible, I understand I do too, but some food for thought. If everyone continues to get your pet medications from the big box stores that can buy millions of doses cheaper than your vet, and your vet goes out of business, who from that big box store is going to come and help you with your sick pet???

Pittsfield Pet Care (PPC) is our first choice for many reasons, including Dr. Karr's and his staff's innate and obvious love for animals, prompt follow-up on results after visits, and the fact that the team always takes as much time as needed to explain aftercare. There was an immediate trust on our side after the first appointment and boarding experience. You just know your animals are getting the best care while under this team's watch. I also love that PPC is a smaller facility. Other day and overnight dog camps are just too big and jam packed for our dogs to get the care and attention we feel is important.

Your pets are in safe hands if you board with Dr. Karr and Cyd!…read more I boarded our corgi here for the first time ever after my friend (who has also left a review here) raved about Dr. Karr. We have a situation where our dog requires 5 different types of eye medication, three times a day in his eyes. So that means someone has to be able to give him the meds at night around 9 or 10. Until I heard about this place, the only place in town who could do this is Petsmart. No other boarding place has someone working there late at night. Cyd told me this wasn't even an issue and of course they'd be able to give him his meds whenever we said he needed them. So it was a non-issue. Unheard of. I spoke to them on the phone a few times and they reassured me Gryff would be in good hands. First off, they take your dog out six times a day. Without a charge. That's just normal and routine. This is UNHEARD OF, people. You're lucky if your dog can be let out more than twice and they get to be outdoors. Not in a room like at Petsmart. You also have the option to let your dog be taken out in a group of other dogs (so they get some play time) or they can go out with just the people. Since our dog is getting a little older, playing with other dogs is hit or miss. To prevent this, they just spent more time with him and said he was great! I've also been told by people at Petsmart that my dog gets put in "time out" because he'd bark at other dogs. He's a mediator. That's a trait of corgis; big dog in a small dog body. But they took it as him being "aggressive" and he wasn't allowed in the group plays. At Pittsfield Pet Care, Cyd told me he was fine. Sure, they spent more time with him than him with other dogs, but they said he was totally fine. I have to trust two people who know and understand dogs over a kid working in a pet store. Dr. Karr is a licensed vet so if something happens there is someone there who will be able to take care of them. This is extremely reassuring. Given our dog's medical history, and a slight toe injury he was getting over, it was good to know he'd be in good hands should anything happen. Bottom line: board your pet here. They're going to be in compassionate dog people who know, understand and love dogs like their own. Their rate is great too ($30/night) and we only had a pay an additional fee per day because of the amount of medicine he needs. The facility is clean, which is a big thing on my list too. Drop-off and Pick-up was a breeze and these two people are two of the most friendly and wonderful people I have met.

Dr Dasher and Dr Driscoll are amazing veterinarians. Back when they were at the now closed…read moreBelleville Animal Hospital, Dr Dasher took care of my Pomeranian, Taz. He had suddenly become ill and the pads of his feet started bleeding. She suspected possible cancer. As we did not have the money to do the expensive testing, she decided to treat him with oral steroids first, to see if that would work. He had to come in every other day. Knowing our financial situation, she only charged me for the meds, not the office visits. When, after a week and a half or so, my daughter called me at work to tell me that it was time, Taz would not get up at all, I called Dr Dasher. There was no way I would make it back to Belleville before they closed. She waited at her office for me to rush home, pick up Taz and my daughters, and bring him in to be pts. She took her time with us, did not rush us. She is one of the most caring, compassionate vets I have ever known. This past Sunday night (August 9), my 16 ( possibly 17) year old cat became ill, would not eat or drink and was likely in kidney failure ( I had been through this with a different senior cat years ago, and the signs were the same). I did not have the money to take our Babydoll to an emergency vet. I stayed up with her all night and was going to take her in to Dr Dasher's office first thing Monday morning. Unfortunately, our precious Babydoll died in my arms very early in the morning. I called the vet office to see about having her cremated. Because I'm no longer working and am on a fixed income, they went above and beyond and gave me a discounted price. They did not have to do that for us. I am so grateful for the kindness and compassion we have always experienced with these veterinarians, and they are who I will continue to take my beloved fur babies to for care. I highly recommend them. The care they provide for their furry patients is phenomenal and so is the kindness and compassion they show to the pet parents of their patients.
