This was my daughter's 3rd cleaning at No Sugar Bugs Club, and unfortunately, our experience with Christopher Chung was unacceptable. I initially tried to give this office a fair chance despite noticing during our first two visits that he seemed impatient with my (now) 4-year-old. But after what happened this morning, I cannot stay silent. I genuinely wish I had checked the real Yelp reviews instead of relying on the reviews on their website, because those website reviews can be bought, and they do not reflect what actually happens here. The Yelp reviews describe exactly what we experienced today. My daughter is only 4. She was doing much better this time than last time, still a little nervous and fidgety, which is completely normal for a child her age. When Christopher Chung walked into the room, he was immediately rude and impatient. My daughter accidentally kicked his leg while crying from fear. Instead of responding with care or understanding, he said, "I would appreciate it if you do not kick me," and then added that he "just had surgery" and couldn't look at her mouth with her "acting that way." She wasn't acting out, she was scared. He showed no compassion, no patience, and absolutely no child-appropriate bedside manner, which is shocking considering he works with children every single day. At that point, I stood up, told him we were leaving due to how he was treating my daughter, and requested corporate contact information. While I know there may not be much more I can do formally, I will warn other parents. Your children deserve a dentist who is gentle, patient, and genuinely good with kids, not someone who gets irritated by normal child behavior. Also, the responses this office leaves under their negative reviews on their website are extremely misleading. When multiple parents share the same exact concerns about the same dentist, that is not a coincidence, it's a pattern. For the office to reply claiming he is "the best" and that children "love him" is honestly absurd. To the office: I do not care for a scripted or dismissive reply under this review. My responsibility as a parent is to warn others before bringing their child here. And no, Christopher Chung (I will not refer to him as a doctor) is absolutely not the best dentist. From my experience and others, he is the worst. These are children he is dealing with. If he cannot be patient, compassionate, or gentle, then he should work with adults or reconsider practicing altogether. was searching for a pediatric dentist and someone told me about this place. My child came in for a cleaning and did fine. When the Dr did the exam I was given a long list of work he said my child would need along with being completely sedated. My gut was telling me to get a second opinion. I found out my child really only needed three things and did not have to be put to sleep for any of it. The second and third.opinions I got both said this was an aggressive amount of unnecessary work. My child is now on a healthy plan at another dentistry and I'm just thankful I listened to my mother's intuition and spared my child all that agony. read more

Drs are emotionally challenged and only concerned with one thing-money. My two young kids (4&6) came in with a few teeth needing work. The next second the doctor was suggesting I put them under with propofol the next morning and shell out almost 4k and have multiple teeth pulled in the process of crowning others! Yeah RIGHT! I'm an OR nurse and would NEVER put my kids out Willy-nilly unless it was 100% necessary and thoroughly assessed the risk vs benefits and was treated with dignity. They tried to rush me into scheduling it and said straight up absolutely not. Anyone that willing to put small kids under just so it's convenient for them to do their job and kids aren't moving is gonna be a hard pass for my family. Made an new patient appointment 2 weeks prior. Took the day off, picked my child up from school arrived signed all paperwork just for them to tell me they don't accept my insurance. I gave them the insurance information long before the appointment and verbally discussed it when making the appointment yet no one thought to call me and tell me they didn't accept it. read more

Very happy and grateful to have found this office. The doctor is friendly and knowledgeable. The front desk staff is phenomenal. My son and I enjoyed the office atmosphere and although we live quite a distance away, We will definitely be returning to this office. Been through a couple bad experiences with dentists and the Dr got me in the next day bc my son needed work done ASAP and I was told we needed a specialist. I highly recommend. read more

The dentist is not good with children, first visit was great, 2nd visit it was a little awkward, then the 3rd visit was unbelievably horrible... having 2 special needs children he did not understand their needs and dismissed my family without notice with one of them requiring oral surgery. He made me feel very uncomfortable as he spoke to me about not checking on my children during the open room procedures parents are supposed to be allowed back for, as I would bring them all together bc we live almost 2 hours away, I told him I would always let my children know I'm there for them as they are always nervous when going to the dentist especially my autistic son, he was very rude and completely unethical & unprofessional in the manner he spoke to me and he tried arguing with me and I explained to him that I was their mother and will always make sure they feel safe and comfortable and that shouldn't be a problem as I'm very kind and only ask that in return. He was very upset that anyone would not agree with his way and I was in awe of the arrogance of this man, at that moment I planning to never return as his personally was a red flag from the beginning and then the rudeness, talking down to me and unprofessionalism was the end for me. We deserve better, you all do. But good luck if you go, the dentist and staff have bad personalities to be working with children they need to be friendly... Especially the dentist. Sad really but I hope this helps someone! Now off to find a dentist to get the surgery done for my daughter as he never informed me he dismissed my family and told me I had to wait 4 months for the surgery as he was busy.. Nice.. Dr Chris is great with my son. The whole staff is awesome and very welcoming. Its always a nice visit and my son loves the office.

Our experience at Dr. Chuong's office was highly unpleasant. He may be a good physician but he certainly has no intention to act with a good moral character. Dr. Chuong became upset when I contacted my insurance about a nitrous oxide/ oxygen that was applied to my daughter for a special treatment. His office made me pay out-of-pocket when it was not necessary since the insurance had sent proof of coverage. Therefore, I went back to the office to request a full refund, which I ultimately received after several exchanges with the Doctor's office. This is what the Dr. emailed me afterwards "We will provide you a full refund. We will no longer contest the fees and a check will be placed in the mail tomorrow. However, the lack of trust is something we can not overlook. We feel that it is best for both parties to go our separate ways. Your daughter's treatment is complete and she does not require any future treatment appointments." Hope this helps you "parents". I wish I had read reviews that would have been me an idea of what kind of person this doctor is. I was fooled by the great visuals and colors on the website but that's not the type of service you will receive at the end of the day. read more

Dr. Chris and his staff are amazing. Top notch. I have 3 kids ranging from 8 to 17 and they were awesome with all the different ages. Staff all talked to my kids on their level and they actually seemed to enjoy their jobs and be enthusiastic which helps the atmosphere for the kids. The office is not overbooked and appointment times are on schedule. Office is very clean and well maintained. The personal attention Dr Chris showed each of my kids and myself is unparalleled. Its very apparent his dental knowledge is excellent. He is very easy going, did not try to oversell us on services, and explained everything all my kids needed very well. Their rates are on par and they worked well with my insurance plan to get what we needed that was covered. Dr Chris himself even called me to follow up on some things we discussed in the office. Service from all his staff could not be better and the offive is super engaging for all kids. All 3 of my kids said they liked him and his staff and going to that office. Warning!!!!!I strongly DO NOT recommend this place at all!! Dr. Chris should not be a child's dentist he belongs with adults not children . Just a few reasons from my experience. 1) My ten year old daughter went and got some work done . He came in the room did not say hi started working away my daughter had said hewas a little rough . Then he started talking about LeBron James? Not sure why a 10 year old girl would know about LeBron James it's more like 1 Direction and 5 seconds of summer ect..then he proceeds to work and commented to her you need braces . Her response was I don't want braces. He then commented so you want to have those teeth in life. My daughter is gorgeous and never wanted braces until this man said something to her for her to feel self conscious. Unbelievable and by the way he never mentioned to us anything about the braces. 2) My 2year-old had to get some work on his teeth and we were informed that he would have to be put under a sedation to do the work he needed. I of course am scared for him being the first time doing this. I had a bad feeling about this the whole time should have listened to my gut! We go to the surgery center the morning of the appointment @7:45 a.m. mind you no drinking or eating after midnight we sat there for 2 1/2 hours before we were taken back . We get back there and a nurse showed us the way to the room sat there for about 20mins. Before seeing Dr.Chris and the anesthesiologist came into the room they both have no personality's to be around kid's at all never said hi to my son didn't really even acknowledge he was there until he whisked my son away into the dental drive through like atmosphere. They completely ignored me and was talking to my son's father the whole time once again I felt sick to my stomach letting my son go back with them ! They took him and he was done in approximately 25 minutes. The short time worried me as well being they told me all procedures last 45mins. It was just too fast and let me tell you my son's face showed me that he is just another money hungry dentist! I walked around the corner in the recovery room to see my son with a swelled up face,neck ,lips and eyes so bad that it looked like he had gotten beat up!! Of course I flipped out saying what did you do to my son's face!!They told me to wait and talk to the Dr. I could not speak to that man at the time cause god only knows what could of happen to him at that moment I left the facility and called his office later. Only to be greeted by one of his girl's in the office . They are the only one's that will make your child's visit some what good . That is if you can sit through the fakeness. They have all these wonderful videos on there website and elsewhere but those are false!!!! This guy is dull and has no personality to be around children let along working with them he needs to be working with adults. I once again say I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMENDED THIS DENTAL DRIVE THROUGH TO ANYONE WHO CARES FOR THEIR CHILDREN. He is as fake and money hungry as they come! read more

My 11 year old daughter was terrified about getting 2 of her baby teeth removed. Dr. Chris and his amazing staff had unlimited amounts of patience and understanding making the experience perfect for her. They do allow parents to go back with their children during the procedure, but I opted to not go back because I felt my daughter would be more nervous with me there. She said that Dr. Chris kept reassuring her that she was doing a good job and kept reminding her to relax. She left the office with half a smile because the other half of her mouth was numb. Lol... Dr. Chris called me the next day to check up on her and make sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. The professionalism and passion the dentist and staff have for their patients are stellar. I HIGHLY recommend this pediatric dentist. Our previous dentist, Cobbe dental can't hold a candle to Dr. Chris. His office offers different types of sedation if necessary and is not pushy when making his recommendation on the work your child needs. Another greedy Doctor with incompetent staff. Prior to contacting Trinity Pediatric Dentistry I checked on my daughter's insurance carrier's website to verify all of the contracted pediatric dental providers. I was thrilled to see Doctor Christopher Chuong listed, as I was referred by a family member who had a pleasant experience there. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I received the same experience while contacting the office to set an appointment. I called this morning and was greeted by a friendly voice on the phone, which quickly turned sour once I stated that I was inquiring if the office was accepting new Amerigroup/Denta-Quest patients. I was informed that Doctor Chuong did not accept my daughter's insurance and informed me to call and switch her insurance company or they could list me as a self-pay patient and offer me a special. Feeling a little disheartened, I thanked the receptionist for her time and ended the call. Thinking that maybe the staff member had been misinformed on the insurance carriers that they accept at their office or some confusion lies somewhere, I called Amerigroup's dental service (1-855-418-1627) and spoke to "Daniel". He informed me that Doctor Christopher Chuong is indeed a contracted provider with Amerigroup/Denta-Quest and that I should contact the office again and let them know and they should not be turning down patients with this insurance. I did just that, called and spoke to a "Jessica" with Trinity Pediatric Dentristy. Explained the whole situation to her and all I received on the other line was a very rude tone stating "We are not contracted with them, I know this for a fact and I will look into it". I then asked Jessica when a good time frame for her to look into it would be, so that I could follow-up and see what the status was. She then stumbled on her words and repeated "We are not contracted with them. I'll see why we are listed on Amerigroup's website as a provider but we can't get in trouble for not wanting to take those patients. You can change her insurance or we can offer you a special". Yeah, the same special the other receptionist wanted to offer after telling me to change my daughters insurance provider. Why would I go through the hassle of changing my daughter's insurance company and all of her other Doctors to be treated the way this office treated me? Just a warning to all of the parent's out there, if you do not have an insurance plan preferred by this office be prepared to be looked down upon and treated poorly and unprofessionally. It appears they only seem to care about money and not the well being of patients. Also, be cautious of all the 5 star reviews that make this office sound wonderful. They ask each and every patient to review them on Google, providing the patient with a $10 credit towards their next visit. read more

The only good I have to say about this office is how good the ladies are with kids. The dentist himself is TERRIBLE. He may seem good with the kids at first but he has no patience (maybe because he has no kids of his own), he talks down to parents who's kids have cavities as if they're the worst parents in the world. He insists upon xrays at every visit even on young children who have never had a cavity. I must add that I as well as other parents have posted several Google reviews about this office that have been deleted! Which shows all of the "great Google reviews" are fake and the dentist has the ability to delete reviews he disapproves of. Take your kids elsewhere! read more

I took my three year old here for his first and second dentist visits. Dr Chris was okay the first time, but the second times he was very rude and impatient. My child was already nervous about what was going on and he made it worse when he was trying to scold my child for being scared. The doctor never even told me what was going on with my childs teeth after he seen them and just left the room. My child cried all the way home because of how he was being treated. The assistant was nice, but thats about the only thing positive about this place. Don't bring your kid here unless you have a golden child who loves the dentist. I would not recommend this dentist at all. I called before my daughters appointment to find out if the had any knowledge about a condition that my daughter has and was told by his staff that he is wonderful with children (this should have been my first red light) they didn't see the need to ask him and get back to me they convinced me to keep the appointment. I called again to find out what I should expect to pay out of pocket and I was told they verified and it would be minimal. The day of the appointment I found the staff to be nice and good with my daughter the doctor was nice but not exactly someone to rave about. Everything he addressed as far as my daughters conditions goes came straight from Google. I was not impressed. Than I received a bill from them. I called and was told everything was being applied to my deductible, okay I paid 1/2 and was planning to pay the rest when I got the next invoice. Next bill was double what the first was. What they wrote off originally was added back to the bill and just wrote off one item. Then I was told that I would I would be charged a late fee if I paid on making payments. Overall I will never return to this doctor and I wouldn't recommend him. read more

This dentist doesn't appear to me to be good with children, especially special needs children. My 5 year old daughter had her first appointment today, October 7, 2015, at Trinity Pediatric Dentistry at 2:30 p.m. When I first arrived, I was told by the lady at the front desk that they never received my online paperwork. I submitted it at 10 a.m. this morning, online as instructed, and received a confirmation it was sent. Not a big deal. Next, they ask me if my daughter can come back alone since I had another child with me. I explain that she was nervous to come to the dentist, and it would be better if I came back with her. Again, not that big of a deal. Once in the exam room, the assistant asked me a series of questions. I was quick to point out that my daughter was adopted from foster care recently, and she has experienced significant abuse and neglect. I informed the assistant that she suffers from PTSD (due to the abuse and neglect) and sensory processing disorder. She wrote the information down on her notepad. Next, the assistant cleaned my daughters teeth. My daughter was agreeable though out the procedure. Next, the assistant tells my daughter she is coming to get X-rays. They assistant tells me to stay in the exam room while she takes my daughter to a different room for the X-rays. Here is where the BIG problem arose... suddenly, Dr. Chris Chong comes into the exam room where I am waiting and without introducing himself or saying hello blurts out, "This is ridulous, your child just kicked my assistant and she is being completely defiant. I want to make sure you are on the same page to hurry up and get the rest of this done." I tell my daughter she cannot kick people. Completely shocked I respond with, "I am sorry she did that. Did your assistant share with you that my daughter was adopted from foster care and has experienced a lot of abuse and neglect and has sensory processing disorder?" He replies, "Yes I was told that." I then tried to explain to him that she wasn't just "being defiant". She is a special needs, abused child that responds out of fear. My daughter came back in the room and hid behind the plant in the exam room. He tells his assistant they need to see other patients. He leaves the room and comes back in a few minutes. Then, he begins to question me in detail about why my child had previously been to two other dentists. I explained that we moved and her insurance changed. He made me feel very uncomfortable with what felt like an accusatory tone. As I was checking out, the receptionist at the desk was engaging in a what sounded like a confrontational phone conversation with another parent. As a mom of three children with a degree in education, I certainly don't condone my children kicking anyone, but I hoped he would offer us some compassion since she has special needs.I do not know if Dr. Chong has received any training on working with special needs children. Maybe had I brought one of my other children in, my experience would have been different. I do not know and do not wish to find out. read more
