I have received excellent service from the student barbers at Premier Grooming Academy. Mr. Tap is…read morea Task Master who vigilantly monitors his student barbers. He means business and his students understand that. The student barbers are courteous, considerate, receptive to input from customers and Mr. Tap. They operate in a professional manner and seem very inquisitive about every aspect of "barbering." They work as a team and constantly listen and observe every aspect of "how to cut hair." They interact positively with their peers and the environment of the shop is "easy going." Even when Mr. Tap isn't in the shop monitoring his student barbers...it's like his spirit is there and the students behave in a professional manner. I receive ultimate attention and treatment each time I get my hair cut. There is no animosity and everyone gets along very well. It is impressive to observe the demeanor of the student barbers. It is quite apparent that they will be successful in the "barber shop world." These student barbers are a positive extension of Mr. Tap and they personify his work ethic, professionalism and attention to detail. It is always a pleasure to step inside Premier Grooming Academy and observe what these prospective professionals learn and how they mature. It's not just about the barbering process...it is about life...and that is what Mr. Tap teaches them. These student barbers are the "Real Deal." Respectfully submitted by: Artemus Flagg, Ph. D. (a very critical individual). My taste is very simple...I only like and expect the BEST!!!. Mr. Tap will continue his legacy and he is well respected in the community, the state and the nation. You have to experience the ambiance of Premier Grooming Academy to understand and acknowledge my perspective of a "Good Thing."

Her massage techniques seriously rivaled those of the estheticians I have worked with at top tier spas across the country. I wish I lived closer or I'd be here all the time. In the past I have come for shampoo blowouts and loved it. They definitely prep students to set them up for success.

I specifically asked the student that if she was unsure about anything I had asked, that she ask her educator for help. She didn't until the very end when she was doing some face framing & instead of gliding the scissors down the length of my hair to do this, she just chopped chunks into the front of my hair. The only way to salvage this was to cut my hair short to even this out. It was a terrible haircut & unfortunately I won't be going back. This is the second time this exact thing happened. While I understand they are students & you're taking that risk when you go, there just needs to be better supervision for the students. This girl who cut my hair was graduating in 4 wks & seemed like she was only 4 wks into the program. That's how bad this was. Also, I have been going here for probably 20 yrs so I k ow the drill. The caliber of students & educators has severely decreased. Back in the day the students & educators were much more professional & put together. Now when you go here, most of the students & educators look like they just rolled out of bed & grabbed anything on the floor. There is no professionalism. The educators used to come over and check in a few times during a visit. Now they come over at the beginning & the end & don't check in at all during the appt. This place used to be so much better than it is now. I would not recommend.

The minute I walked in I should have known to leave, I asked to use the restroom and I was sent downstairs (I have arthritis in both knees) which would have been fine but the lady that came in right after me was directed to a restroom on the same floor as the lobby. My appointment was at 5:45 and I didn't get sat in a chair until close to 6:30. The lady who did my hair was very nice so there's that. When I showed her and her instructor my inspo pic they both said it was doable with the hair I had, I told them if it wasn't I could find a plan b no big deal but they assured me it would happen. So I'm feeling pretty good about life at this point thinking my hair is going to be fabulous. When they started the foils I began to get concerned the instructor did a few to show the student and when the student took over the foils they were kind of haphazard and wonky, but I told myself to have faith in the process. So wash and toner time happen. I get back to the chair and the towel comes off my head and I am horrified to find that the chunky money pieces I wanted were an obscene shade of yellow/orange. The highlights were uneven and you can see where they missed putting product on some of them because there would be brown sandwiched by blonde on the same strip of hair. The cut was ok, I have a few uneven pieces in the back but I can live with that. I am so not wanting to out of the house with this mess on my head. I

The trainee didn't speak much English but there was a translator but it was still painfully slow. The polish job was sub-par. The pedicure had taken REALLY long and I needed to get out of there so the instructor decided it was better to re-polish - after the trainee tried to fix a smudge she caused. She sprayed OIL BASED quick dry between the two coats of polish - guess what that did? A full 30 minutes later, after driving home with the fan blowing on my feet, the polish was still not dry! Also, they use some off-brand of polish that isn't heavily pigmented so the job looks like it was done with that cheap polish you get at Walgreens. Save your money and go somewhere else.
