Crime really isn't all that high in Highland Park and the police dept seems to be very well funded. They set up a traffic check point for insurance card checks at least once a month Tuesday morning on River road. It jams traffic up and it really annoying. Just a heads up.

Centrally located from major towns as East brunswick, freehold, Princeton, East Windsor and heightstown everything takes 20 min. To get too. They're no major malls just basically the average NJ strip malls, everywhere. Not many nice restaurants. It is inundated with pizza places,Chinese restaurants and several fast food chains which are usually on main highways. It does boast a pretty awesome library and a huge senior center and plenty of medical and Dr offices. It is quite a scenic area and quite large. It's nice to see certain areas untouched by progress. Altho developments are popping up to make room for more people. Definitely a nice place to live.

The NWS provides weather forecasts, hazardous weather watches and warnings for general information and protection purposes. The NWS was founded 156 years ago - it's been around a minute! Our regional NWS office is located in Huntsville Alabama. I grew up less than 5 miles from our local NWS office located on Sparkman Drive. Currently the NWS Huntsville is advising about a heat advisory through 8 PM today, as the NSW predicts highs will reach the lower 90s today and the heat index will be between 105-110 degrees Fahrenheit. The NWS gives tips on mitigating this "major" heat risk reminding us to stay hydrated; limit strenuous time outdoors in the afternoon, wear light-weight, light colored clothing." Yeah, it's hot here, ya'll! The local NWS Forecast Office in Huntsville Alabama is very informative including information about current hazards; radar; forecasts; rivers and lakes; climate and past weather, and local programs.
