Hotel Hospes Maricel & Spa - Beautiful view from room

What a stunning property in Mallorca. While in town for a wedding, the brides recommended this spot…read moreas one of their favorite hotels in the area and I can see why. First of all, the views from the main building are absolutely stunning. Think panoramic views of ocean and sand with a beautiful pool that looks like it's floating in the ocean. That alone had me obsessed, but then I saw my room. When staying you can book in the main building, or the suites located in a passageway across the street which you access underground. We booked a room in the main building and got upgraded to the ocean view which was awesome. The room was quite large, with a large separate bathroom space which had the toilet and shower in one room with a tub and sink in the entryway which was great for girls sharing a room. We were also able to add a cot to the room for an extra 125 Euro a night and even with that, the room felt spacious. There is not a lot of natural light, as the one window that we had was super small, but the stunning views made up for it. The service from the folks at the hotel was super friendly. They offer room service, a spa, breakfast every day (include with suites or a la carte with a regular room), and amazing poolside service. I also love that you can go into the ocean straight from stairs attached to the pool. I really enjoyed my stay here. If you want to splurge a little and enjoy the views and amenities this is the perfect spot. It was great to unwind here amidst some jam-packed wedding festivities.

Maricel looks like an old palace, but it was built in 1948 to look that way. Back in the day, movies stars and royalty stayed here. It closed in the 80s and then reopened in 2002 with expanded rooms. Most rooms have terraces and ocean views. There is an infinity pool, a bar and cabanas that are busy in season. You can get massages in treatment nooks overlooking the water. There is a restaurant that serves incredible breakfasts and lunches. The main spa facility also has a separate business center for retreats and events. That area accessible by tunnel is mid century modern, but the overall aesthetic is neo-classical. The staff are friendly and discreet from the front desk to the restaurant servers to the cheerful maids who do a very thorough job maintaining the rooms. You even have a pillow library to pick just the right one for a good night's sleep. The bathroom is white marble with a soaking tub and dual handheld / rain shower. We stayed in #14, one of the best on the property.

Bathroom and shower i have no venting so if you're sharing a room with someone be prepared to get to know them intimately. Their policies make zero sense as well. They have a small gym that's 24/7 but their indoor pool and sauna close at SIX PM. 6:00 PM. The employee that runs around at 5:45 is extremely pushy too. The breakfast buffet is alright. It's the same food they have everywhere else in the city. I'd stay elsewhere for what they charge per night here.

Go for a walk down the street and find quite literally ANYWHERE else. We sat down ordered our drinks and food at the same time. After 25 minutes we finally got our drinks (minus one because for some reason they couldn't make it and waited until the rest came out to tell us) and then waited another 30 MINUTES for our food. Might I add, there were probably only 5 or 6 other people here so any excuse that they were busy is capital B.S. Ate the worst salmon tartar I've ever had in my life (only because I paid for it) and my friend's burger was completely raw when she took a bite. While taking a plate off the table the waiter spilled breadcrumbs all over the food and into drinks, didn't acknowledge it and walked away. Everything about this experience was a big fat ZERO. Hopefully our hotel experience is better than whatever this was. Crap service and even crappier expensive food, DO NOT waste your time here when there are plenty of other local spots that I'm sure are a fraction of the price and 100% more delicious.

She assumed adults only would be fun and exciting. At breakfast the first morning we realized this adult only hotel was for older people like 55 years old and up. It's on a beach so that's nice and the bus stop is super close. I love that you can hop on a bus for only 1.50€!! It took us downtown, by the Marina and the casino !! You can bus anywhere including the airport for 5 €. The hotel had a singer on Saturday we were drinking cocktails while everyone else had coffee or tea. But overall the hotel was nice and clean.

Now let's get to it location amazing! Staff not too bad although they can't all seem to greet their guest while walking by reception. Check in was quick and the receptionist who helped me was very sweet to communicate with me in English and helped others in french when needed which is always a plus ! Had a welcome drink that was never offered found out it's a coffee for those who do remember to ask for it. The food at the hotel is well you guys can check out my photo of the pizza ? From room service, save yourselves! Vegan or vegetarian pretty much forget it at this place unfortunately but luckily there's great food just in the main road. I would have to agree with some of the other reviews of this place adults only is more of an over 45-50ish I would say. We enquired information about a rental car and the receptionist said she couldn't help us to go over to their sister property (super close) but I feel this is something she could of helped with as we are guest in this property. Over all the hotel is clean in a great location (why I gave it 4 stars and not 3) and helpful staff but would skip the food and there's no hotel parking also the service desk is just a desk sometimes with little flyers might be something they can work on.

From the moment that we arrived we were treated like royalty. The rooms were modern, sheik and clean. Depending on the pace you wanted to enjoy your holiday at, you could sip cocktails in the lounge or by the outdoor pool. On the other hand, you could spend a day at your spa or work on your fitness. My only complaint was to use the indoor spa facilities (which the hotel classed as the hot tub, indoor pool, sauna and steam room) were an additional €10 per person per day. It's not like it's going to break the bank, but I've never paid to use a pool and hot tub before. The spa was open from 9am until 9pm which allowed you to stroll in as you please and enjoy your relaxing sun holiday. When I go back to Mallorca, I will definitely be staying with my friends at Hotel Isla Mallorca!~

I booked this hotel through booking.com and my deal included a spa circuit at "Spai" in the price. That was well worth it. I looooved it. In the circuit there was: a Finnish sauna, Contrast shower (cold, sequential and ascending shower), heated relax lounger, Scottish shower, Turkish bath, cube shower, Bithermic shower with essential oils: ( warm and cold water, essences of lavender and orange), recreational hydromassage (pool with different options of columns of water for massage effect), Essence shower (warm water and essences of lavender and orange) among some other options. They provide you with posted signs which show you the order to use the different options in to do a traditional circuit. It was fantastic. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. The hotel is not in a particularly busy area of the city, yet it was easy enough for us to walk to all the interesting places to see. It's fairly near to Castell de Bellver. It's a gorgeous area. The breakfast buffet in the morning is well stocked and watched intently to make sure it stays that way. Choices abound, most are standard fare in a European breakfast buffet (cold cuts, croissants and pastries, cut fruit, bacon, ham, eggs with juices and coffee). I would come back here again in a heartbeat.
