What I had in mind was a wholly different world and it's a funny thought, I was expecting a jewelry store with bright lights with glimmer all over the walls but that was just my childhood memories when my dad took me with him to a jewelry store to get something for my mom. I already had some gold and only 1oz of silver but, wanted more and committing to invest in it per month. When getting in, I sat down in a waiting lobby with my wife, we wanted check out our first place to buy precious metals and believed that this place had to be it. We were greeted by Ron, he's an amazing and enthusiastic man to work with. He made it easy to understand when breaking down their website on how it displays the spot prices, and that an American Eagle is an American Eagle when I asked what would affect the value when I mentioned specific things like age, cleaning or rusting and or what Ron told me about oxidation. Today, I was impressed with the service that I had to drag my wife into it from the waiting lobby (haha). I had to make sure that my judgement wasn't too bias on picking clean or some age or oxidized coins. Since I didn't do research on what were the payment methods, I wanted to pay with a credit card to build up cash back but, if it was card, it had to be debit. Ron was great, I'll try to commit visiting monthly here or the one at Fremont for silver and soon gold.

I knew I had to come back. The next week I went in and was immediately greeted by Eliana. She was patient and very attentive. Allowed me to explore, try on, and take my time picking out my very first pieces of jewelry I was buying for myself. Which, as you can imagine, was extremely difficult as everything was spectacular. She offered champagne while I luxuriated and gave honest opinions on which pieces suited my face and style I was seeking. They offered to customize the length of my chain at no charge, which was a bonus. It was an overall fantastic and memorable experience. Eliana was amazing and another woman with long dark wavy hair who was their the first time I went in, those two are excellent and friendly. They were also having a drawing for a vacation get-away, which was another exciting incentive. She had inspected some old good and silver pieces I had and gave me a really good price on them so we did business. No complaints. At the time I asked her to give me an estimate on a gold ring that I have. After her inspection she had offered me $1850. I did not sell it at the time. I was just curious at where they might be at with the price. Well, now fast forward to April. I decided that I might be interested in letting go of my diamond ring for the right price to do some improvements on my vehicle. So I decided to pay Alicia a visit. At this point I will say that I am honestly expecting there to be more value in the ring since gold is at an all time high since the last time I visited. I decided to call and make sure she would be available. Unfortunately after several attempts I could never reach her at location. Everyone I would speak to would never offer a time so that I could schedule with her directly so I went ahead and just decided to see whoever was there at the time. Upon arrival, I see that they had did a complete remodel of the office from my previous visit. It is much more elegant than previous. There were 2 guys working and I end up with the guy at the desk farthest from the door. ( I apologize, I didn't get names) I show him the ring for the quote and he immediately starts complimenting it and shows what appears to be genuine excitement. While he is inspecting it he asks me if I had ever got a quote on it. I tell that I actually have and that it was done there by Alicia back in 2024. He promptly asks me what price she gave me and I decide to hold that back so I can see what he comes up with. This is where they lose me completely. He ends up offering me $800. Smh. I tell him he is way offffff.......... I then share what the original quote was in 2024 by Alicia. I express to him that his quote can't be right on the fact that gold has skyrocketed since then. I also directly ask him if he is just crazy low balling me on purpose ( I know, of course he is going to say no to that but I had to ask. Right??) after some back and forth he tells me that is all he is authorized to offer?!? Than he goes on to tell me he is "messaging" Alicia. He takes some pictures etc. Now they start to say gold has gone down, and the diamond pricing has gone down, and supposedly the clarity of my diamond is horrible. Let's not forget how he was drooling over my ring when I first walked in. What's even crazier is that as they are insulting my diamond it's part of the value the original quote that she had given me in 2024 was purely on the gold. She specifically told me that they don't count the gemstones because they treated as scrap so it's just a gold that has value Which is crazy but her words. Also, when he quoted me 800 he told me he couldn't price anything on the diamond. So at this point, I'm like one this place is turned into crooks. and second, is he even talking to Alicia? Is she even the same person I dealt with in 2024 or really the owner or still the owner. As far as I'm concerned too many question marks now looks pretty on the outside with the remodel and all, but on the inside to me it's horrible now. And I know you're gonna say well. You only visited one time in 2024, but that one time in 2024 was crazy made a huge difference because I have visited other place prior to going there and she seemed to be honest sincere and had very fair quotes. Hey all I can say is this get multiple opinions do your research before signing off with these guys. I don't recommend them unless you're just not caring about what you're unloading, but k steering clear of this place in the future.

I had been giddy for days leading up to it, the kind of excitement that feels rare and precious in an adult life so often consumed by work. Now my memory of my first jewelry show brings up feelings of disappointment and sadness. I approached the PMI booth at the International Gem and Jewelry Show with excitement, ready to explore and invest in a meaningful piece. Like many careful buyers, I like to take my time, trying things on, comparing options before I make my final decision, especially when it comes to high value items like jewelry. I ask consent before taking photos so I can keep track of what pieces I like and what booth I found them at. I asked to see three rings, the older blonde woman (pictured) assisting me did not just come across as disinterested, she seemed irritated that she had to help me at all. Her tone was cold, her demeanor tense, and every interaction felt rushed, like I was an inconvenience she wanted to be rid of as quickly as possible. I initially tried to brush it off as her personality, but what made it impossible to ignore was what happened next. At the other end of the table, an older white woman was already being helped by an older gentleman. Instead of continuing to assist me, the woman helping me chose to join them, effectively abandoning our interaction. She stood there with them, smiling, engaged, and attentive, without so much as a glance back in my direction. I was left waiting, unacknowledged, until I eventually had to call out to her to get her attention again. And it wasn't just that one moment, or just one customer. As I stood there, I noticed she was kind to another older white lady before I asked her to help me. With them, she was warm, patient, and welcoming. With me, she was curt, tense, and visibly irritated. The contrast in treatment was not subtle. It was unmistakable. For context, I am 32 years old, but I have been told that I look young for my age. Whether her behavior was influenced by my age, my Asian ethnicity, or the fact that she assumed I could not afford their pieces, I cannot say with certainty, but the consistent disparity in how I was treated compared to the older white women around me was impossible to ignore. When I finally said I would be back after making my rounds, she took the rings from me and responded with a flat, dismissive "okay," not even looking at me as she said it. It felt less like the end of a customer interaction and more like a relief to her that I was leaving. I walked away feeling overlooked, disrespected, and devalued.I was saddened not just by the interaction, but by the fact that now my beautiful memory, the event I was so excited for, was soured. Thankfully, the women at Serendipity Baubles, Trinkets, and Treasures at Booth 421 completely turned my day around. They were warm, kind, and treated me with genuine respect. I gladly spent over a thousand dollars with them. Funny how a little kindness and basic human respect can go such a long way. I had genuinely liked one of your pieces (pictured) and fully intended to come back for it. But after the way I was treated, I chose not to support a business where I was made to feel like I didn't belong or worse, like I was a burden. I know a thousand dollars isn't much for your business, but this is not just about a missed sale. It is about how quickly visible irritation and unequal treatment can turn what should be a joyful experience into something disheartening and lasting. I hope this is taken seriously, because no one should walk away from your booth feeling the way I did. I am not upset about the jewelry I didn't get to buy. I was upset about the beautiful memory I could've had.
