NK Convenience store has just about everything you need when you are in a rush needing one or two items to finish off a meal. You cannot do your weekly shop here, the store is more tailored for grabbing a packaged snack on the move. As seems the norm with corner stores there is a wealth of booze to purchase so on those lonely nights after a long day at work, you can forget yourself at the bottom of a bottle of cheap wine or a six pack of beer. One useful point. There is a cash machine outside. It charges though.

Not a bad selection of chilli sauces though. Their veg selection is average, and often looks a bit worse for wear, but if you just need a few onions or something then it's fine. They also do toiletries, washing powder and so on, and there's a unit full of Polish groceries. However, if you've ever needed to buy someone a glass sword full of Armenian brandy, this is the place to come. Hanging above the tills are various novelty glass shapes full of the stuff. I spotted a fish and a donkey as well, but the glass sword was always one I fancied for the living room, but, predictably, was never drunk enough to buy. Despite trying for the best part of 3 years, I singularly failed to get the staff to crack a smile. Come on guys, cheer up - you've got a sword full of brandy! How cool is that?!

I use it regularly on my way to visit friends nearby. It stocks the usual range of basic groceries, ready meals, confectionery, newspapers, tobacco and a decent range of wines and spirits. There can be long queues at peak times (ie when people are on their way home from work) although in my experience they move along quite quickly. The choice is a bit limited for a major shop, though, and they don't provide trolleys, just baskets. Usefully, there are two 24 hour free cash-points outside.

It's open super early, like way before the roosters come out to cock-a-doodle-do. This place is not just good for basic off-licence needs. Their magazine selection is impressive. Their publication section takes up nearly a quarter of their shop and the titles that they carry range from basic Sun to highly stylish Tank. So, if you're on the go and you need to handle business, but you'd also like something good to read on the bus, this is the shop for you.

They are licenced to sell alcohol and have a good stock of wines and spirits. They have a large fridge with beer in it which is handy if you fancy a drink and have run out, you dont have to wait for it to cool down. They also do PayPoint in there so you can top up your mobile phone or pay your bills.
