Bland convenience store with your usual mediocre quality groceries. The good thing about this store though is that they're open 24/7, even on Sunday night, and the ATM does not charge a fee. Yay! read more

The girlfriend is very particular. She is also very cute and loveable which is why I put up with…read moreher toilet roll specifications. She specifically likes to wipe her behind with Aldi roll. Other than these bottom delights, Aldi is pretty crap. It is cheap and I went here in between gigs with bad roots to buy food. The pesto sauce here has an additive for every letter of the alphabet. You can buy cheap flowers here that look nice and not in the process of dying for 2-3 pound. The flowers look as good as Waitrose but for half the price. I don't hate Aldi as much as Sainsbury's. This store is usually not filled with kids. A definite plus and if I really want to make a good impression, I'll get Flowers and Loo Roll. Aww.
Yes, I am a fan of Aldi--It is ridiculously cheap and it is supermarket quality! I mean were…read moretalking most fresh fruits and veggies under 1pound! e.g. 50p bags of oranges, 50p pineapples, 25p cucumbers--yea, they are pretty much giving it away! They carry most brand names as well--quaker, cadbury, ribena, etc.. As far as the store itself--it isn't the biggest place, and it doesn't carry everything but as far as the value--you can definitely stretch your pound here! Some drawbacks are alot of the choices of fresh fruit and veggies are gone by mid-afternoon, they don't always have the same selections, and you have to purchase your bags. You honestly can't beat the value, if you live nearby--this place is an absolute steal!

At Dicle, you can get 3 pomograntes for a pound. This is why the store gets a good rating from me…read more We also buy cherry tomatoes on the vine here and they taste better than ones from M and S. They are free rolling in their crate and cheap as chips. This store sells European speciality products and has a meat section (unfortunately for my sensitive eyes out back). There is a small selection at the bottom of the fridge of cheese in brine and olives. There is also a decent selection of packaged cheeses. The only thing this store is missing is coffee cream that doesn't have all the crap in it. This is not uncommon in a small store but I bought the girlfriend Elmea here tonight and she hit the roof :). Oh well.
I second what the other reviewer said. This is a good food shop that stocks wide range of 'ethnic…read morefood' at good prices. It's one of the few places that you can find the Turkish Simit sesame 'bagel' and fresh Iranian breads. Hard to find pickles and dips. Fresh Baklava sold by the pound. You are not allowed to put it in the trolley so the staff told me until payment has been made. People then have to wait behind you. Terrible system. It just makes one angry.
Not a massive fan or this Tesco to be honest…read more I find it disorganised and there is not the normal logical Tesco layout. Quite a few times you are looking for something and it's just not there. A few staff really smell, you can be stood at the checkout with your eyes watering! How nobody says anything to them or allows them on the shop floor is beyond me. The fresh aisles are annoying and I spend half my time going back in myself for something. There is very limited selection of supermarket in Finchley Central, so you just have to "suck it up", however, you can't help but feel they know this so don't really care......
This store has a lot of really good European products like Halloumi cheese, flat pitta bread,…read moreolives, and Mediterranen deserts. Comparitively, to other stores in the area it is quite expensive. They do some fruit out front as well, but the fruit doesn't seem to be as fresh as it should be and I once bought carrots from here that were soft. On the plus side, this store does many good phonecards like America First Diamond Edition and EuroCity. I like the staff in this shop and they always are polite and friendly. North Finchley has good selection of wine and a few beers but I'm more into their juice selection, which has my fav peach in the carton. I like to come here when I need Hummus and I'm in North Finchley.
