I was very disappointed to arrive at the Hotel Nireeda after having to drive down an ally to reach the entrance of the hotel. Then a drug addict walks out the front door. Those should have been my first clues.
When I exited the taxi, I walked to the front door only to find it locked. So I waited 15 minutes until someone unlocked it. It would have helped to have a door bell at the front door.
Once inside, I could see the true condition of the hotel which is NOT SHOWN in the internet photos. Clearly, all photos are photoshopped to make the place appear much cleaner than they really are. I would have never booked reservations here if I saw the filthy walls, hand prints all over everything and knew about the smell throughout the hotel.
Every fixture was of the cheapest quality and the stairs going up to the room were similar to those of a back yard deck. As I go towards my room, I notice that the washer and dryers are right outside my room. Nice touch! Love that noise...not. The internet photos failed to Included the lamp cord stretched a foot off the ground and plugged into the closet, which is a fire hazard. The living room couch has the leather pulled
off. The paint on the walls only has one coat of paint and the dirt beneath it is very visible. I could have gotten a better shower in a camper. The shower was as big as a camper shower and same quality. There was no place to set your towel except for a 50 gallon water heater in the bathroom. What a beautiful sight but that's the towel rack.
The window was open to reduce the smell, but it really didn't work because it's throughout the hotel. Above my room, there were animals running and pounding all night long on the floor with music blasting. I would have been better off sleeping in a zoo. My wonderful window A/C unit couldn't even drown the noise out, just a joy.
I was there for business so I arrived tired at the client site. They asked me where I was staying and the people that live in Geelong know the place and were shocked that my company placed me there. It has a horrible local reputation. Of course, my company went by the description on the internet which gives this hell hole hotel a 3.5 stars instead of the NEGATIVE 3.5 stars I would rate it.
I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT "ESTABLISHMENT" (using the term loosely) again. read more
