I really enjoyed my experience here. My braider was Ashley and she did an excellent job. She listened to my concerns and did not braid my edges too tight, even while somehow getting all of my hair into the braid. At first I did not want to sign up for the appointment system, but it was easy to make an appointment, easy to pay (with card!) and I was not waiting for 4 hours to see a braider like other places I've gone to. I've been getting my hair done here for a few years now and I absolutely love Stephanie. Stephanie has less availability and I needed my braids done for a vacation. I booked with Nerice and although the conversation was great I have noticed the technique difference in my braids. I booked smedium knotless and the braids are a lot bigger than they were before when I had Stephanie. I also seem to have several braids with the hair poking off at the ends. I am sad because I spent so much money on this hair and it hasnt been a week yet and I dont feel like they will last as long as they normally do. Overall I would not rebook with her. read more

I can't believe they only have 4.5 stars???! THEY ARE a 5/5 EVERY TIME. And I've had my hair braided my two different stylists. The best!!

I had an appointement December 13, 2018. When I arrived, Tyvon (my stylist for the morning) was detangling an open pack of braiding hair. She cheerfully greeted me then asked me if I was there for a 9am appointment. I said yes then she asked me to have a seat and give her a moment to finish detangling the hair. I asked if I was supposed to wash my hair prior to the appointment and she said yes. Unfortunately, I didn't know that. I was under the impression that I'd get my hair washed since this was a beauty appointment, I was mistaken. For hair novices, like myself, braid bars don't provide full salon services. Don't go there expecting to get your hair washed. When Tyvon motioned for me to take a seat in the chair position in front of her, I took a moment to look around. The 'braiding bar' is spacious and clean. A relaxing place to get your hair unsatisfactorily braided/styled. As you will see from the pictures I've post, I went to get crochet braids done and boy did she do them...terribly. The spacing between my braids were incredibly wide and Tyvon failed to fill my braids completely with the twists I provided her. I brought ten packs of hair but she only used 5.5 packs and left large gaps of empty braids throughout my hair. When she cheerfully proclaimed "I'm done" I looked in the mirror stunned at how terrible my hair looked. (I definitely picked the wrong color). Somehow, she managed to make the hair bulky in the front and empty in the back. The artistry was lacking and the quality of her skills was disappointing. Immediately I stated my dissatisfaction and asked to have them redone. she gave the impression that her schedule was too full to correct her sloppy work that same day. When I spoke with her later that day, she told me she could re-do my hair for the same price. I was dumbstruck. I couldn't believe poor service was handled so tastelessly. Tyvon stated the owner would be willing to allow me to have my hair redone for a ten dollar discount (basically the amount I tipped Tyvon). Essentially I was expected to pay $120 for CROCHET BRAIDS. That's like going to the dentist, getting a botched root canal then being told that you'd have to pay to have the procedure corrected, even though the dentist is at fault. Overall, I'd say avoid that place if you're hoping for quality hair services. read more

I booked my daughter an appointment with Sonya at 10am for medium, waist length, box braids. We arrived about 5 minutes early and she was there waiting on us, ready to start. They have a TV there and they checked with me in the content to ensure we were comfortable. I was told it would take about 5 hours and when I returned about 4.5 hours later she still had a section to go. I left and when I returned at 4:10pm she was just finishing. My daughters braids are very nice! The parts are super neat and the braids are not frizzy, at all. They charge $160 including the hair, if you have your own hair they take $10 off. They are all professional and friendly, without being over the top. I highly suggest this place for all your braiding and Loc needs! read more

Nina's Braiding Bar isn't much to chat about, if u want average hair Quality and u don't trust Craigslist then this play will do. Their website gives them 5 , I guess when u have ur college peers and friends write ur reviews. I do like the fact they wash the synthetic hair before use. The space is clean, however the energy is off they talk about other clients(not in a good way). I have gone there 4 times and it's like u don't know if ur going to walk out with what u asked for,its like the memes;the expected vs reality. WhY do I go back because it's Safe, clean and doesn't cost much. Nina's bar will do for now. read more

The ladies at Nina's are AMAZING!!! They are always flexible and work with the styles that you want. Even when I come to Steph (the owner) with an impossible hair style, she makes it work; even better than I expected!!! My natural hair is mid back. I came to Steph with the request to do a faux locks bob . She did research and watched many YouTube videos, and managed to give me amazing locks without cutting an inch of my real hair. I loved this protective hair style. Steph out did herself!!! She truly made my day because she took the time to provide the service that I asked for. I also have 2 children. Any time I make an appointment, the salon is able to work around my clock so that I can find someone to watch my kids while getting my hair done. The braiders are very professional and always kind. If I could give this place 5+ stars, I would. From the moment I called, the customer service was EXCELLENT, if they missed my call, they called me back right away, and answered all my questions, which made me feel comfortable right away. Their website is very easy to navigate and book appointments with and their prices are reasonable. My appointment was fantastic as well! I went for small, mid-back braids with Andrea J, and she was wonderful, she asked me Before putting any products in my hair and she made sure I was satisfied with everything. The other girl was very nice as well. The location itself is very clean, they cleaned up after every guest. There were also snacks. Over all I would 11/10 recommend and I don't ever go to shops, but I will definitely come back. read more
