Maybe because there's not a lot of patrons that use the facility which is a plus for me. Space is a little tight, but its great. If you're looking for a spot to do the power moves -- squat/deads/cleans go to the next room, mymistake for not looking around. They only have the basic machines, compared to xsport or la fitness across the street. Complete set of DB's, ample BB's. Lots of attachments for cable exercises, they have a mini running track that goes around just like at LA fitness in morton grove. People that ive worked out so far seems good and nice, they return weights to.its proper place (pet peeve of mine) they seem to know each other as well which is a good sign. Overall, if youre looking for a clean, quiet community gym to lift and run and dont want the hassle of other people's BS. Cant stress enough that this gym is cleaannnnn, lockers are spotless, and its the freakin men's locker room im talkin about! What more on the womens side, you probably can sleep there lol.

After scheduling and paying deposit for the pool party and confirming we have 1 hour set up and 1 hour post party to clean up, we tried to contact the Harrer pool coordinator for room specs, table number, size, chairs and equipment availability so we know what we needed to buy or not buy..table covers wall decor and such. Nothing. Emails and phone calls not returned. Was contacted 2 days prior to party by the new coordinator only to be asked about the cake. Coordinator told my daughter, the birthday celebrant's mom, we had to be out of the room exactly at noon. We were pushed out at 1145.. why? They had their own party to go to. Will never opt for a party space that NEEDS to have a coordinator on site. Have used the field houses for parties before and will continue to use them again. OR will rent Oriole Pool party room and instead (as long as that particular "party planner" is NOT part of the deal) So terribly disappointed.

When I came here for…read moretherapy most of the time I was in the pool with just my therapist but occasionally their was another session going on. The water temperature for therapy sessions is warmer than that, of open warm water pool times. However that not to say the water is cold, it is warm. Check in with lifeguards behind desk. There are lockers just outside the pool area with 2 changing rooms/showers and 1 bathroom or you can use the larger locker room. In there they have a swimsuit spinner, I don't know the proper name but, it helps dries your bathing suit. Lock up your stuff head back through the maze of doors. The warm water pool has a chair lift should you need that but, most people just use the stairs with the rails to walk in. The shallow end has a bench so you can work on sit to stand exercises. The floor of the pool seems gritty in some areas. Sometimes there's something on the bottom of the floor I don't think they vacuum the pool on a daily basis or even weekly, but I don't know. The deep end is 6 ft deep. You can use a pool noodle to just let your body hang and feel weightlessness. Then continue to exercise. The staff are friendly but not overly, the lifeguards are not allowed to talk to you. The noise level in the room when other people are talking and or talking over each other can be quite loud there's no sound bumper. So it's can be very loud which is not something I really want when I come for therapy. When you come you would probably want to bring your own in noodle because you're not allowed to use any of the physical therapy things that you might have used when you were there. Still a great place and I encourage you to go.

The indoor facilities and the outdoor grounds are all very well maintained. The large playground was rebuilt last year and is one of the nicest ones in the North shore area. The small playground (which is part of the preschool) is fully fenced and has a splash pad that operates during the summer months. There is an outdoor walking path that loops around the entire Rec center and an indoor running path at the fitness center. There is also a state of the art gymnastics facility for toddlers to big kids. Overall, this is an excellent recreation center that is very well maintained and has just about everything. The only negative aspect of this center is that the playgrounds can get too crowded when all the kiddos from the preschool, summer camps, and enrichment programs all come out to play. Otherwise, very highly recommended.

Here they run a variety of activities for children as well as adults and seniors. Almost any activity you can think of including sports, fitness, dance, theater, gymnastic and art are offered here. They are always adding new things that are popular. My son just started a video game design class which is really up his alley. During holidays and throughout the year they put on special events for families to enjoy. They run a very good preschool which is one of the most affordable in the area, but make sure you book it early because it fills up fast. The quarterly book that they send to the residents is huge and nicely laid out with programs. You can register for classes with ease online or there. Not only that, but the staff are all very helpful. If there was ever a time when we were not completely satisfied or were suddenly unable to attend, we were refunded our money and never given a hard time. Anyone can sign up for the activities here, however it is just less expensive if you are a resident. What I love the most is the convenience of everything being in one location, so I'm not running all over the place. I also like how many options there are. We are always trying something new and fun. They put on the cutest theater productions and tickets are not expensive. The rec center has alot to offer so check it out for yourself!

It's not the largest park but it is a popular one given its location. The new park has two types of terrain; there's a rubber surface under most of the structures and then under the swings is sawdust. They have a couple structures, including one that's a smaller one for the littlest kids. My kiddo really enjoyed that play structure and the swings are her favorite. She's still getting used to the slide, but I like that there's a couple small ones here for her to feel a bit more comfortable with it. There are at least half a dozen benches around the place which is helpful. The place is very busy but when we visited, it wasn't overwhelmingly so. There's a kind of field house here, so there's ample parking--I hadn't realized there was a parking lot for the place at first, and was glad to see it so that we could check this place out and not have to fight for street parking.

It's just a few minutes from Golf-Mill but not well-known except to the locals. This is probably the most ethnically diverse park in my area, with lots of Indian, Middle Eastern, Hispanic and Eastern European kids from the area. Best of all, it has the one of the most elaborate playground setups I've seen in the NW burbs. So why the name? Well, when my 3-year old went to this park last year, he played and loved it for only a few minutes before he fell off a plaform and landed in a mound of wood chips. Dirt and tears smeared his face and itty-bitty woodchips went into his nose and mouth. The sad sight he was, we rushed him home to comfort him and give him a bath. He refused to play there again and we avoided it for a year, while it earned the name of "Dirtface Park". After a 1-year hiatus, I took him back a few weeks ago and he just got out of the car, tripped on the pavement and hurt his knee before ever reaching the park! Is it cursed? After that fall, he vowed "Never again!" to go back to this park, ever... Well, maybe not. The park is safe in my opinion and my son was a victim of unusual bad luck here. We took him back this past weekend and he got to play for a long time without any tragic injury or a faceful of dirt. My 1-year old crawled around and loved it too. The playground has a short tunnel made of coated wire mesh that looks like a cage and makes for great fun. It also has a series of square stepping blocks for climbing up to the slide, almost reminiscent of the old Qbert video game. I have not seen that done anywhere else. Besides the playground, there's tennis courts, and 2 sand volleyball courts which double as a giant sandbox when not in use. Lots of trees and shade around the play area to sit while you watch the kids playing.

You or your child can learn ballet steps, and proper posture and decorum, while having age appropriate fun and stimulation. A small but exciting portion of each class is dedicated to tap. Ms. Sandria, who enjoys both dance and working with people, puts together a creative routine, starting from day one, building on each new skill and resulting in a gratifying show at the end of the "semester".
