What a gorgeous option for outdoor space, walking trails, and picnicking!…read more After a large lunch nearby, we decided to stop by the Catherine Chevalier Woods for a quick walk since it appeared to have walking trails. With a bit of hesitancy since there was not a lot of information online, we stopped by and were immensely pleased. First of all, there was a plethora of parking spaces, making this a very accessible location! Second, we were immediately inundated with wild life, from lounging and munching white-tail deer to chipping chipmunks to singing birds, we no longer felt like we were in the midst of the city! Third, there were many spaces for picnicking and gatherings of people! What a great place to come for an outdoor gathering! Finally, we discovered miles of maintained and gorgeous walking trails. People were sparsely populated on the trails providing a beautiful and remote hiking experience! There were only three other kids playing so we nearly had the whole playground to ourselves. The girls enjoyed climbing up the ropes, coming down the slides, and running around the playground on the rubbery ground. There was an ongoing basement game that my husband stood and watched for about 15 minutes until his girls summoned him to push them on the swings. There are picnic tables, basketballs courts, and volleyball courts as well.

Obviously this has been a abysmally rain drenched year for the Cook County area and the mosquitoes in the woods have flourished. I would highly suggest more Mosquito Abatement spraying for these woods.

Comfy seats, decent food, clean bathrooms, and genuinely fun entertainment between innings. I mean, who doesn't want to watch a couple of little kids suit up in inflatable suits and sumo wrestle? The Chicago Dogs have not done well on the nights we went, but losing to teams from nearby towns feels hard to resent. For the last game of the season, we watched them play the Gary Rail Cats. Hard to think of a more old-timey baseball team name than the Gary Rail Cats. It's hard not to get a Chicago dog to eat while you're warching the Chicago Dogs play, but those are only okay at this venue, so I would suggest splitting one among your group as a sort of appetizer and ordering something else for your actual food there. And of course, beer. Seats are comfortable, and the size of the stadium makes everything easy to get to. Less than thirty seconds from a front row seat to a bathroom. Which were still decently clean in the 8th inning. Yes, they have adjacent parking for $3. But the last time we used it, it took us nearly an hour to exit with the traffic management situation. So consider the real cost of $3 plus a little piece of your soul that you will never get back. Since then, we park in one of the nearby structures. If you park just across the highway by all the restaurants, you can stop in for a bite to eat or a drink and get the $20 charge validated down to nothing. That parking is about a fifteen minute walk to the field. But it's an easy walk. And walking past everyone sitting in their cars at the Impact Field parking structure, knowing you are a free human being-- well, that is priceless.

They actually paused the game to do the fireworks because the game was going long, and there is strict timing for fireworks as the field is close to the airport. Our group had a box upstairs, so we had unlimited food, beer and wine. The price was right and the food was good! Not a huge spread but a good one. Pasta and pork tenderloin were stand outs. Also a hot dog bar because it's a baseball game.

After my fiancé fell in love with this park location for wedding photos. Apparently only ONE wedding party gets to occupy the WHOLE DAMN park! this rule is bullshit. How does ONE wedding party get to use the WHOLE PARK for wedding photos? the park is huge, and I highly doubt there would be any issue with our wedding party coming the same day to take a few photos. It doesn't make sense, this rule should be reviewed. I've complained to the Park District, but they say "it's their rules". they did tell us though we can go across the street to Monument Park & their water fall back ground. oh yeah, 100 wedding photos for my album all of the same background, yeah that sounds great! anyway, screw Rosemont........................and they charge to take pictures at the park anyway.

I'm deeply disappointed by my recent experience with Doggy Paddle, despite the fact that there are…read morethings they do well. The instructors who actually swim with the dogs are consistently lovely, kind, and attentive (Julian especially), and the facilities are clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the customer service and administrative processes completely undermine those positives. Last August, after my friend's dog Maverick passed away, she contacted Doggy Paddle to transfer his remaining swims to me as a goodwill gesture in his memory (he swam there regularly for several years). Doggy Paddle accepted the transfer -- they requested and received my dog's vet records the same day. However, I never received any confirmation via email or text showing how many swims were transferred, what type they were, or when they expired. There is also no online portal or way for customers to check their balance or expiration dates. Over the following months, Doggy Paddle emailed me multiple times asking for a fecal test, which reasonably implied the swims were active. At no point did anyone mention an expiration date or warn that the swims were nearing expiration. When I attempted to schedule a swim this month, I was told the transferred swims had expired and that I needed to purchase a new package. Apparently, the swims my friend had purchased had expired one year after purchase, on January 1, 2026. When I called to discuss this, they acknowledged there had been no communication on their part to confirm the package was transferred or to share terms/conditions, but repeatedly stated that it was my responsibility to ask or my friend's responsibility to tell me the expiration date, and that expiration dates do not reset upon transfer. They refused to make any exception or accommodation and said there was "nothing they could do." Sorry, but asking my grieving friend when her passed dog's swim packages expired wasn't a priority. This should have been on Doggy Paddle to communicate to the customer at time of transfer. They'd already earned the money from the previous sale; they lost nothing by extending the expiration date a little longer. I requested that they extend the expiration by four weeks and we'd come swim during that time, and they said no. Scheduling itself is also unnecessarily frustrating. You can only book via text or email, which often becomes a long back-and-forth, and there is no transparency about available times -- you can't see a schedule, only ask and wait for someone to tell you what's open. Holding customers to expiration policies that were never disclosed, combined with limited scheduling access and no account visibility, is extremely frustrating. The lack of empathy given the context -- a transfer following a dog's death -- made the experience even more disappointing. It's unfortunate, because the staff and facility are unique in Chicago. My dog loves swimming and we relied on Doggy Paddle during rehab, but I will not go again. This was a senseless policy to hold the line on given the circumstances.

There are swings, which is about as far as we got since my daughter is a fan, but they also had some big playground equipment for older kids. Not sure if there's anything for the smaller children besides the swings. If I had a suggestion to make, it would be that there be a fence around the playground as there is in Chicago parks. Just an added level of safety for the little ones, since the road isn't super far away and of course there's a parking lot and if you have a runner, they can get away from you quickly.
