Be aware of the scam being run by a Flashcab driver in the theater district in Chicago's Loop, which we have experienced twice in the last year. When approached by a theater patron for a ride after a show, the driver will ask for the destination and then will quote a flat, exorbitant price, which is illegal. When asked to use the meter, suddenly the driver says he has another customer to pick up. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. DRIVERS MUST TURN ON THE METER ! Niles Flash Cab I Ordered a Van 24 hrs in advance to Ohare, there were 3 of us and luggage. No problem the dispatch said instead of $15 flat rate + $ for each passenger it would be $30 plus the extra per passenger. 1/2 hr before pickup dispatch calls no van available but we could send 2 cars, I declined only if they could send a Full Size sedan. No problem dispatch said. Instead a SMALL car came 20 minutes late and I had to settle for it with 1 passenger packed into the front seat. We got to the airport and had to pay the upcharge for a non existent van, with my intent to cut my losses just to get on our flight out I paid. I called from the airport to Niles Flash Cab to ask for a refund. I left a message as prompted. It is now about 3 weeks with NO RESPONSE. I'll be calling again but do not anticipate any resolution. read more

After hour, a second call to the company and finally calling a family member to pick me up, I get a call from the driver telling me he doesn't know how to get into the airport. Very affordable cab company! They don't rip you off. It's just as affordable as uber. The drivers all have been really nice and down to earth people too. My only complaint is that this one time we called and the man on the phone said the cab will be there in 15 minutes and they will call us back once they arrive. Almost 30 minutes past so we called the cab company and the man was being a complete jerk ( the most appropriate word I will call him ) and he said that he never said that they would call us and that the cab has been waiting their for 10 minutes. Gave me this attitude as if it was my fault and was yelling at me. This man is a complete moron and needs to be fired. However the others have been totally fine with us. Had the unfortunate experience getting in to a flash cab from Chicago ohare airport at around 830 on Saturday 22 Asked driver to take me to Hilton o hare. On arrival he became quite aggressive and said as I was in America I had to leave a tip. I said that if he was angry he's not going to get a tip but gave him $5 for a $15 fare reluctantly. When I got to reception he'd taken me to the Hilton rose and not the o hare. Had to then get another cab to my correct hotel. Not great. Took a cab from Park Ridge to union station for the first time . The driver arrived on time and was very helpful when we arrived . I was traveling with a wheel chair ,a walker, and a suitcase and he helped me put them altogether and get to the door. The trip was a flat rate so I knew exactly what it would cost. I needed a cab to take me to work today, so I called Niles Flash Cab. The dispatcher was a bit snippy with me and even acted like I was the biggest high-maintenance princess ever when I asked how long it would be for the cab to arrive. "(long sigh here) - well, due to the WEATHER - 30 minutes!" weather? give me a break, its lightly snowing out! Hardly a major storm! ugh, whatever. Anyway, I wait and the cab arrives in 35 minutes. The car is absolutely filthy, like it hadnt been cleaned since it came off the production line. When I gave the destination, the driver had no idea where it was, or how to get there. What is that about cabbies lately? Its seems like everytime I take a cab anymore, unless it is to some tourist attraction, airport or landmark, you have to tell them how to get there. Must be a delight if you are from out of town and are relying on them to take you where you want to go! Well, cabs are sort of a necessary evil, so I put up with a lot. I came back from Mexico two weeks ago and at 1am and a 5 hr. flight delay due to bad weather, the worker at the airport got us (family of 4) a van. Once in, the guy was on the phone and kept driving without even asking where we were going. We were a bit concerned right there. Once out of the airport, we told him we were in Des Plaines (just few miles away from airport). The guy started yelling at us for having to pay 4$ for some airport tax ticket and not make any money off of us!!! Our two kids (4 and 9) were scared, because he kept going at it like a maniac. We kept quiet, but looking at each other thinking "WTF?" Once by the house, 10 minutes later, we decided that that kind of manner should not get much tip. He was given a lousy dollar! He told us to get the suitcases ourselves (he was visibly pissed at the fact that he made no money and no tip). At 1:30 in the morning, one sick child, one tired and cranky kid, and overall two pissed adults, we were standing in rain, pulling out four suitcases out of the van. The minute my husband closed the door, he sped off splashing us with water. This was our second bad experience with Flash cab. They are very unprofessional, rude and have no manners. We live in Chicago, near Peterson and Cicero, and anytime we need to go to ORD and don't have a ride, we call Niles Flash Cab the day before and schedule a pick up. Their service is OK, although some of their vehicles need to go to the junk yard instead of the airport. Also, watch out for a fare scam: they have three rates, depending on where they pick you up and drop you off. Some drivers like to use one of the higher rates even when they should not. When you make your rez, ask the dispatcher what rate area you are in. Make sure the meter reflects that when the driver picks you up. read more

After waiting over 45 minutes for a cab from NorShore Cab Association, I decided to give Niles Flash Cab a call and test my luck. I was ready for anything as this was 2 days after the Great Snowpocalypse of 2011. I needed to get from Niles to the CTA Blue Line Station (4.4 miles). My call was placed (at 6:29am) to a rather apathetic representative for a pick-up as soon as possible. I could hear the dispatch radio station in the background louder than the representative taking my call. The call rep stated it would take around 10 minutes to get a cab. At 6:41am (12 minutes after call - I consider this great timing for a cab service), I get a call from the driver stating he was outside. The driver (Cab #24, can't recall his name) was extremely friendly. He also had great conversational skills. However, the fan in the car was on high setting but the heat setting wasn't well adjusted. It was slightly cold in the car, but nothing too upsetting. Overall, I enjoyed my 15 minute encounter with this humbled fellow. Although I'm a little weary of placing my call to the dispatcher and a 4 is a little generous, I would definitely use this service again because they were there when I needed them most. read more

I called for a cab just before 8:30 Friday morning because I missed my last bus. I was in Niles and figured they'd get there fast--oh, and was I wrong! I had 45 minutes to get there and it usually doesn't take more than 30. But I ended up waiting for 35 minutes. I called after 20 minutes to ask for an ETA and was told about 5 more minutes. Nope. Not a cab to be seen. I ended up taking the bus after all since the next one arrived before the cab, and was really late for work as a consequence. When I called to cancel they were rather snippy about it, since apparently the cab had arrived after I got on the bus. Don't mind taking them if one's on-site, but will not be calling them any time soon. read more

I used to take this cab company every week when I worked at Woodfield in Schaumburg and I still call when going to O'hare but boy do there have a lot to improve on... The dispatcher can be extremely rude. Try calling the number just to hear his voice and have him basically scold you with the words "Niles Cab." Sometimes it's a lady that picks up and she's actually really helpful (helped me with a rude driver once). The cars that I've reluctantly gotten in have been old and messy. I've also encountered a lot of drivers that got really mad when I try to pay with my card. I mean, I understand if my fare is below $5, $10 even, but each time this has happened it's been at least 15-20. One even drove me to an ATM away from my destination so I can take cash out! I hope none of y'all ever experience that and when you do just call the dispatcher to settle things. They're not allowed to turn down card and especially to force you to take money out. I've had a pleasant experience with other drivers (those mentioned above excluded) and they're generally very good with their timeliness. read more

Do not use this company!! I reserved a cab for the airport ahead of time. At the time assigned for pickup, no cab arrived. I waited and finally called them. The rude woman who answered put me on hold and then informed me that the driver had a flat and there were no other cabs available!! When I asked way nobody informed me (since they confirmed my phone number when I called) she got angry at me!! She told me to call Park Ridge and asked what she was supposed to do about it! Very bad experience. My girlfriend needed a ride home from work. I called her a cab and was going to pay for it. 5 minutes into the drive and driver asks my girlfriend where's she's going. She says Evanston. He says I need to see some money up front. She only had ten dollars on her. I was going to pay the rest. He kicked her out of the cab when it was 20 degrees outside. She called me crying saying the driver kicked me out. My girlfriend Is African AMerican. I don't know if race had anything to do with it. We use this company all the time until tonight. This is hands down the worst cab service ever. Please everybody do not use this cab company. They have shitty phones they have shitty service they take forever to pick you up. So I called they said 10-20 minutes I told them I'll be outside. 50 minutes later I left walked to Walgreens bought a uber card and got home. Around a hour and 15 minutes later these motherfuckers called me and asked if I still needed a cab. It's was 10 degrees out. Trust me call Uber! Flash cab sucks so bad they take forever and don't care about customers, it was a Tuesday night in the suburbs not too much going on for a 80 minute pick up. And I was in niles !
