This historical restaurant is absolutely gorgeous!! It is located right in downtown, with a great…read moreview if you are seated on the terrace! We were there during the week leading up to Dia de Muertos so it was a treat to be seated on the terrace, people watching and sight-seeing, all from above. This place is like a beautiful maze, I'm not sure where to start... I wandered around to take in all the uniqueness and eccentric character of the place. This house was built in 1630 and there are so many history to it. Please see the photo I took of the history of the place. For food, we got the steak, guacamole, and shrimp aguaschile. We also got a few cocktails. We only wanted a light dinner so we did not order much. Although when we were there, I saw many people ordered pizza and pasta, they must be the items to get here! Service is very friendly but it took a while for our food. But, it was understandable because they were very busy that night and I think they did not have enough staff. However, every staff who was there was very professional, super attentive and super friendly! Everyone was wonderful! It can get really cold on the terrace at night so bring your jacket! Overall, we loved this place! It has so much history and it is very beautiful inside. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu, the menu is huge! I would also come during the day so I can see how it looks like during the day. Night time was gorgeous though. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

If you are in the mood for gourmet style seafood and feel like paying for a good delicious meal,…read morethis is one of your choices. Service is awesome, food is great, options are many, and prices are fair. I was here with a group of friends and it was a great experience from start to finish. Take into account that I was here on a Tuesday night, so this place was not very busy. However we requested options to our waiter and he offered the ones already advertised in the table (not a good sign). So we decided to follow our foodie instinct. The choices we had (see pictures for reference) were awesome. The dishes that I liked the most? - Camarones Caballito - breaded shrimp stuffed with Philadelphia cheese and mango sauce. - Camarones Primavera - fresh - Volcán de Cajeta - simply perfect and tasty. If you are a sweet, dessert type of person, don't think twice. This is like a thin bread type of crust filled with caramel, with vanilla ice cream and berries - simply delicious! We finished with liquor drinks and they were good. Can't complain. Fully recommended! By the way... they have valet parking in case you don't want to find a parking spot around. There is plenty of parking area, but just in case don't feel like walking.

One thing is for sure, service at Los Arcos was the best I've ever experienced anywhere. This is…read moreall the more remarkable because we had a party of ten. I was impressed by how the servers were able to perfectly time the arrival to the table of the multitude of dishes we ordered. Oh, my AGU family is adamant that you tip no more than 10% in restaurants in Mexico, regardless of quality of the service. More than 10% is considered a faux pas, I guess. My family avers that, though Los Arcos is a chain, they serve the best seafood in Mexico. Los Arcos has dozens of seafood options. You will find some dishes that contain ingredients, say for example "Aurora" sauce, that are specific to Los Arcos, so you will need to ask your server what they are. The restaurant serves complimentary tostadas (in a bottomless basket) that you can eat with a red salsa or tasty sliced grilled onion. Curiously, the grilled onion comes with a white chile pepper that I didn't see anybody at the table eat. My favorite dish of the night was a delicate little taco made with a jicama tortilla. On the jicama taco were breaded shrimp, chili pepper, onion, tomato and a delicious seasoned crema sauce. I was craving something simple for my entree (the Scandanavian in me popping up again) so I opted for the crema de langostino (lobster soup). The creamy lobster soup came in a bread bowl (regular bread, not sourdough). The soup, containing chunks of lobster and bits of celery and onion was fabulous! The only off-note was that the bread was overbaked, making it a little tough and also burnt-tasting. Beverage selection was vast with drinks such as agua de coco (coconut water) and jamaica juice. The dessert menu only showed five items, but there are more; at the end of the meal they brought out a dessert tray with more stuff. But you know me, when I saw creme brûlée, I had to order that. Topped with two strawberry halves and perfectly caramelized, it was silky smooth and delicious! I highly recommend Los Arcos, it's just right for an after-Sunday mass family get-together: the restaurant can seat large groups comfortably. 12/28/14 update - we snuck back over here and service and food were incredible once again (even though we came 1/2 hour before closing). My current favorite restaurant anywhere!
