As someone with a disability and ongoing issues with my left foot, finding the right shoes is very important to me. After a year of recovery and therapy following a stroke, this was actually my first time going shopping again. My therapist recommended New Balance, and I'm so glad I followed that advice. From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel comfortable and supported. Tafair, who assisted me, was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He spent over an hour with me, bringing different styles, explaining their features, and helping me find what would work best for my needs. At no point did I feel rushed or like I was asking too many questions--he was truly professional and caring. I also had the chance to speak with the supervisor, Imran, to share my appreciation. He spoke very highly of Tafair, and it was heartwarming to hear about his journey and goals. It made the experience even more meaningful. Kyram, Mac, and Denzel were also friendly, welcoming, and professional--they all contributed to such a positive atmosphere in the store. If I could describe this team in a fun way, I'd say they are like a flight crew: Captain Imran leading with professionalism, Pilot Tafair expertly guiding customers to the perfect fit, and attendants Kyram, Mac, and Denzel making sure every customer feels comfortable and cared for throughout the journey. My daughter was looking for a particularly hard-to-find size in a Keds sneaker, and "Brian" was super helpful, cheerfully bringing shoes in different sizes for us, and advising her on the fit. I think it must be exhausting to be constantly running back to grab sizes and colours for customers, but in a shoe store, service makes all the difference, and Brian was smiling and quick. Thanks to him, we were able to easily find the shoes that my daughter was after and carry on with our shopping. The prices were reasonable, and I noticed that the store also carried socks, shoe treatments and accessories, as well, so that's handy.

I was disappointed the head quarters/Kitchener location ignored my direct message on Instagram-it's not like I could call the Kitchener location to confirm stock -there was no phone number online. The pricing has been competitive at this location, but shipping they do sneak a fake insurance guarantee for a few dollars. When things are on sale, stock does go out. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection; there were multiple styles available in the colours I wanted, and different sizes available too. YES, they did. This is a family business and one of the few which carries a wide variety of styles, all competitively priced and in a wide size and width range. The time is taken to ensure a proper fit and pleasing style. I was there for at least an hour and a half on an early Sunday afternoon. They have a wall of high quality clearance footwear of at VERY GOOD prices. They had a variety of top quality sandals and purchased a pair which fit me correctly. I had not ever been able to find suitable sandals before this in any other shoe store. My journey from London Ontario was supported by Google maps and worthwhile. He is a very avid runner and needed new shoes so we took him to Closeout Shoes believing that he would receive the same kind of quality service and customer care that we had come to expect. Unfortunately, he made a purchase that he came to regret when I urged him to wear the shoes around the house for a while. He was experiencing buyer's remorse. I assured him that any "reputable" shoe retailer would take back the shoes with a refund since they were not used outside the house. Apparently, I was wrong with regard to Closeout Shoes. You see they have signs in the store that say "ALL SALES FINAL" that neither of us noticed. When the purchase was made we were not given any VERBAL warning about their unusual store policy. In all my years of dealing with this retailer, I have never noticed these signs before. The owner refused to offer a refund of in spite my family's years of loyal patronage. My takeaway from this is that in her mind, enforcement of store policy is far more important than customer care. caveat emptor!

The changing area is really spacious so your boyfriend has no excuse but to watch you try on clothes and provide opinions.
