My daughter completed her first year this year and they both deeply love their school. We chose The Children's Place Montessori because of the wonderful environment, the small class size, the affordability, and most of all the total commitment to true Montessori learning, not just having a lot of pretty wooden furniture and saying you're a Montessori school. Children are allowed to explore and go at their own pace. Sometimes that means they go quickly through a subject (though still with a thorough understanding) and sometimes more slowly as time and interest provide. That opportunity makes a huge difference and takes a lot of care and attention in a classroom full of kids. We really did not want computers in the classroom when our son was in kindergarten and are even more glad they're not a part of his early elementary education. Homeschooling was not in the cards for our family, but I really feel like the approach to learning here is the next best thing for our family. This is not a business that also happens to be a school. It's first and foremost a dedicated place of guidance that serves the whole child. I'm so grateful we lucked into an open spot exactly when we needed it so many years ago and look forward to many more years as a part of this wonderful community.

One thing I really appreciated was the support we received during potty training. I was very concerned at first, but Ms. Mei gave us helpful pointers and encouragement, and we were able to potty train him within one week. I also appreciate how communicative and supportive the teachers are. Especially Ms. Olga. My son loves to go to school because Ms. Olga is very supportive. My son was struggling with his workbook activities, Ms. Mei let me know right away and shared ways we could help him improve at home. Because of that teamwork, he was able to continue making progress when he returned to school.

My child has been attending since February, and in just a few months, we've seen tremendous growth, not only in language skills, but also in behavior and overall happiness. That kind of joy and comfort speaks volumes about the environment the teachers have created. Ms. Shelly and Ms. Aya have been absolutely wonderful. It's clear they genuinely care and want every child to thrive. Another year down!…read more My kids beg to stay. They ask us not to pick them up before closing, which probably tells you more than anything else I could write here. The teachers are funny, kind, and genuinely smart people. The chef cooks real food for the kids three times a day. The classrooms are always in the middle of some new learning project- and they listen to the kids' interests! (For example, there was an interest in dinosaurs, so they created a little "Dino hospital" for the stuffies where the kids played doctor...Adorable! While it is still play based, my son is learning to write and he's so proud! What sets Seaside apart, though, is that it feels like a family. I don't have a big village of my own. Seaside became my village, for both of my kids. I cannot thank them enough. I just can't. I have peace of mind daily that my kids are safe, they are loved, they are seen and celebrated for their own unique personalities. Best choice in the South Bay!

I knew he felt safe there and we had zero negative experiences during his time there. He was speech delayed but the teachers were so patient and understanding of this and his language flourished rapidly. He became less food picky once he started school and I believe that was due to the variety of dishes he was exposed to there for lunch. He often commented that he liked the school food more than mamas ! The big outdoor play space was great. Sending your first baby to school for the first time is nerve racking. The teachers are energetic, sweet, and genuinely love kids. The food is healthy, a variety of Korean dishes for my half Korean daughter to learn about her culture, and have never lost a sock/shirt/item. The teachers wipe the childrens hands when releasing them to parents at pick up. They learn something new and challenging on a daily basis such as life cycle of birds, Spanish, shapes, holidays, bible songs, letters, and already knows how to hold a pencil correctly ! They just remodeled the parking lot, there are locked gates for safety, a huge playground, and inside shoes for hygiene. There is a warm breakfast daily, and a warm and fresh lunch daily. My daughter loves going to school and her little friends. The director is also present a lot and super involved with the rest of the staff. I truly appreciate everything this school as done for taking care of her.
