I would give them 4.5 stars for being a decent paper…read more I saw the courts gave them approval to drop the sun, but they have not. Drop it and let them die off, they offer 0 original content. The problem is their services. Try to cancel your subscription online, here is a hint you cannot. You have to call and deal with the person trying to sell you 50 different types of subscriptions even though you know they will not come close to the price they will ask you to come back a few weeks after cancelling. Not sure why companies feel they should punish people that use their service, oh you have been a user. thats $100 a year, or cancel and we will contact you in a few weeks with a $25 for 6 month deal, and if you do not i am not really missing out on much.

They get you with a promotion and then when that runs out, they go up to a ridiculous amount. I am…read moresure the largest part of their customer base are seniors. In other words I am sure they do not have a HIGH percentage of 20 - 30 year olds subscribing. The seniors are being taken advantage of by the Las Vegas Review Journal because they call to get the initial subscription going and then send a letter to go from $5.00 to $65.00 or more. Some of our seniors do not get the letter, so likely 50% missed the fact that it went up, they just have less money. They are attempting to generate revenue by overcharging and not being transparent about the price HIKE. I am just young enough to advocate for seniors NOW (before I cannot for myself). I have a stem degree and I am a data analyst. I will be taking the matter to the Nevada Attorney General's office (Consumer Protection Divison). Everyone has a turn, your parents and then you will have a turn as well, where you will want someone to care enough to advocate for you when you are no longer able. If you are able now, then join me in getting the LV Review Journal to at least "Call" the senior the same way they did when initiated the subscription, do not store credit/debit card information (easy for them to charge any amount after the initial subscription) and to also have a survey at the end of their call, like everyone else that cares about the consumer. The Las Vegas Review Journal should practice transparency over decptive antics with our seniors that are on a fixed income. #LASVEGASREVIEW JOURNALSHADYPRACTICES

There's no other newspaper like this in the valley!…read more I haven't ever seen this in the libraries. I believe there is a list of where it's available, which is a lot of places that have kareoke, which I will probably spell a dozen different ways as I type this. This is a great newspaper that has a few different sections unfound in any vegas guide I've ever seen, including guides online! Oh, they do have a web page lvlem.com . Caraoke is covered in the paper. This is great because they have a grid so you can find it on any given night and in whatever area you're in. There are very few places that have it every night. There are some that are only 2-3 nights, but have a huge following of regulars. I have known of kerioke DJ's that have had disputes/ disagreement, etc. with their host bar and have brought all their regulars to wherever they host next! Who knew there was such power plays in karaocke? I also like all the ads for the bars and hosts, it's the only place I know of that has them. There's even a valley map, so you can pick a place by proximity. The newspaper also has listings for all the (felt) pool halls, steel and plastic tipped bars and even shuffleboard! They even break it down during tournaments for any of the above. I always try to save the first issue of a publication I get, some because they don't last long, some because they do and change formats and styles. Some even change owners. This is definitely a paper worth keeping at least one issue of! I know, karaoke alreddy.

We needed nine pictures blown up and put on poster board for the funeral. Martin helped me with the graphic design of these boards, put a rush order for the job (one day turn-around), and gave me a highly discounted rate. Not only do they do great job, but they have heart! They will always have my business.

Again, no one reviewed this? You can't not go on the strip and not see this magazine tossed around…read morewith all the coupons, booklets and things. It's probably one of the biggest distributed publications on and about the strip. The articles are so standard, I flip thru them all. you're read about all the attractions on the strip if you live here. I go thru the dining section, but all they feature is the most expensive/ celebrity chef places. If you know me, you know I prefer the small janky off strip places that don't have a corporate office and most likely have the owner working a shift. THAT'S Americana. The best thing about this magazine is actually the pullout map. It's not only of the strip, but the whole valley. It's probably the best detailed street map on one page I've seen. It unfolds once, not 30 times like a street map. they have a basic information page or 2 that tells someone stepping off the place what to expect, like the long ignored tip guide. the tip guide should be placed next to the podium on poster board upon entry. I've worked many, many restaurants, not just family ones and made less than the 8% employees are taxed on tips. They're based on the sales tax of what a server sells in a shift and doesn't account for tipping out busser, bartender and sometimes expediter. They also have a nightclub section that is interesting, because it also lists the hosts and numbers you can contact for VIP hosting services. what's interesting is the clubs they leave out where I know they provide such services. If you know, write them down and write me if you see the common denominator I saw. I've seen casinos and timeshares slap their own cover over the existing cover. I've seen Tropicana, Tahiti Village and Buffalo Bills, from what I remember. It's magazine size (only about 3 of the strip guides are), so just look for a second cover if you really need to pursue this.
