I'm very glad I came across this particular store because not only was it easy to find but we easily found everything we needed. Walking in, the displays are a feast for the eyes. Everything is organized so well and decorated so nicely. The sections are easy to navigate. There is more in this store than just wine and liquor as well. There's a nice assortment of candies, teas, and other specialty food items. The people who work in the store are also very friendly and helpful.

Turns out he's from Corsica, so there are some more unique things like wine from Corsica, sparkling water from there, and Italian charcuterie like culatello, which I rarely see outside of Italy. Most bottles are large 750ml, but there are also a few 330ml choices. The beers are not cheap, but this is a great example of "you get what you pay for." Yes, there is great beer in France!

I have recently been making a (very slow) study of various fine Scotches and noticed that he had some bottles of these as well. Since I was unfamiliar with any of the names (likely more to do with my own inexperience rather than his selection), I was initially a bit skeptical. Since I don't really drink very much, I want to drink "very well". Well...the Proprietor was undaunted by my inexperience and had me taste one of his stock. To my surprise, it compared very well with one of my reference Irish Whiskey (Bushmills). There was a bottle that the Proprietor proclaimed to be better than what I had just tasted, so how could I resist all of that sincere effort!? We wound up getting our souvenir and one bottle of the scotch he recommended. He asked us to email him to tell him how it was... Completely worth stopping in if you are in search of spirits or just a good and well-educated conversation.

The staff here speak English and very helpful if you ask for their opinion. They have mostly younger wines and a few that are good vintages worth buying. They also have other types of drinks here you can buy. Overall while it's small it's a nice shop with a decent selection of wines packed into a small area. I would happily come here again.

Though the shops are usually pretty tiny, the selection is quite remarkable. Staff always have intelligent suggestions when I ask what will go good with my planned meal. I have found excellent, delicious bottles of rose' for 5 euros. Last week I drank a bottle of champagne that was truly excellent, I liked it better than Veuve Clicot. Price was 23 euros. Trust the wine recommendations from these fine folks.

Using the Vivino app I found some excellent deals on Rose Champagne and felt really good able being able to taste some excellent Champagne that normally would be out of my price range. If you are also interested in Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise, or Chateauneuf du Pape you can find some excellent deals on wines you'll never find in the states. You will need and idea of what you want, unless you speak French, due to the person running the shop speaking mainly French. A great find and if i'm back in Lyon, will be my first stop.
