Just happened to be walking by and the very friendly proprietor enthusiastically invited us inside. We were in search of a little souvenir for some friends in the form of a nice wine representative of the area. I have recently been making a (very slow) study of various fine Scotches and noticed that he had some bottles of these as well. Since I was unfamiliar with any of the names (likely more to do with my own inexperience rather than his selection), I was initially a bit skeptical. Since I don't really drink very much, I want to drink "very well".
Well...the Proprietor was undaunted by my inexperience and had me taste one of his stock. To my surprise, it compared very well with one of my reference Irish Whiskey (Bushmills). There was a bottle that the Proprietor proclaimed to be better than what I had just tasted, so how could I resist all of that sincere effort!?
We wound up getting our souvenir and one bottle of the scotch he recommended. He asked us to email him to tell him how it was...
