While I can't compare to other bottle shops in France, I was very pleased with their recommendation. To enter Caves Micand, you have to go through the archway (not too difficult too find as the name is emblazoned above it). The old courtyard sets the mood and entering the store feels like walking into an actual wine cellar. Even with the language barrier, staff were attentive and helpful. I asked for recommendations for a sparkling wine and a spirit. After hearing what I was looking for, I was recommended a few bottles, from which I was able to choose. The bottles were beautifully gift wrapped, boxed, and padded for travel. Following up with the recipients, I can attest to the fact that the folks at Caves Micand provided great recommendations!

To be fair, the choices remains somewhat limited but for Grenoble, this is best in class in the city. The owner who is almost always there is very helpful as well. While I adore French wines, this remains a terrific place to find something away from the norm.
