This No Frills is not my usual and favorite location. Not a store which I describe as enjoyable to shop as customers here seemed to be all in a high stress level. The sole purpose was to grab as many as you can up to the limit of discounted special of the week. It was a mob scene. The whole family with 4 + members each getting 4 bags of rice. People pushing each other because the quantity was limited. For a banner grocery store under Loblaws, I found this location is not as clean. A pass for me unless I really need something?

Grocery shopping. They still charge for the bags.

Grub. Go! I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the grocery store's main entrance. I backed into a spot that faced Harvey's drive-thru entrance and walked in. There is a sign near the front door that says to not take photos. Oops! Well, I did and no one really cared. Many stores are gearing up for Lunar New Year. I was greeted by everything from candy to nuts. There were plenty of decorations for the occasion if you need some. It wasn't me crazy busy at around 6: 30 pm, but there was steady business. The aisles are nice and wide in the produce section, which I appreciated. Many folks with carts could park them off to the side and not stop the flow of shoppers walking around. I needed celery and avocados. I found them rather quickly. Celery was $5, which is clearly insane, but it is the new price norm. Each celery stalk (the whole bunch and not the rib, which is the singular piece) was packed in cellophane. You have the option of getting avocados in a bag or individually. I used to do the former, but could never consume my avocados as quickly as I would like. I do the latter these days and grabbed a couple, which works out better. The fruits and veggies looked fresh and healthy. I was happy. The bakery section is rather small. It's in a little corner close to the produce. I loved looking at the almond cookies and Swiss rolls. Yum! I browsed around, as I had got everything that I needed produce-wise. I wandered into the snack section and it took a while to leave. My favourite garlic chicharron was available, so I snagged a bag. I also got a bag of mushroom Frito Lay's chips. I love anything mushroom and the flavour was on point. If you dislike the texture of mushrooms, you can eliminate it by getting a bag. Of course, if you dislike anything mushroom, you may want to grab a different flavour. I became nostalgic looking at all the Vita varieties. I drank many Vita juice boxes as a kid. Guava, blackcurrant, and lemon were my favourites. I still love those flavours in practically everything that I consume these days. This place also has my favourite coated peanuts. It was tempting to get my go-to flavour, the coconut cream. The chicken and tom yum flavours caught my attention. I should try them next time I'm here. The tea section is excellent. I loved the varieties available. I could live in this section alone. I went to the cashout area to pay. There were many cashiers available. This store only accepts cash and debit cards only. You are out of luck using credit cards here. The woman who cashed me out was efficient and to the point. She asked if I needed a bag. I declined. I could carry them all to my car and save a plastic bag. I tapped with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and headed to my car. I had to walk by a man who was smoking between his car and mine. I quickly placed my groceries and me in my car, closed the door to escape dying from second-hand smoke, and hit Wendy's to get dinner. I loved shopping here. It was great changing up my grocery shopping and dinner scene. I'll be back. (14)

The entrance opens up into the produce section and transitions to the seafood department and then meat along the back wall. I was looking for plant-based meat products and didn't see them along the wall. There were a couple of staff working nearby and I asked if they had what I was looking for. Since they didn't work in that department they pointed me to the wall of refrigerated meat. Luckily, an employee working in the department was able to take me directly to the freezer that had what I was looking for. Some more meandering up and down aisles and I found most of what I was looking for. I did notice a man on his phone standing in front of the cake display. I'm not sure if he was looking to pick up a cake since he kept glancing over at a staff working nearby but she paid him no mind and continued what she was doing. I had a few coupons to use during this grocery run. The cashier had to call over a superior a couple of times to override something but she got it all sorted out.

I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items. It's definitely more convenient now thanks to this Food World. (174)
