Sadly, though, when I wasn't thrilled with the results and had questions, he made me feel like I was being a pain in his rear by asking questions about the germination rate for a 1800 sqft lawn installation. When I first saw the work, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of seed that was put down. When I called to ask about it, he insisted it was perfect. I disagreed -- there were many places where there wasn't even one seed for inches (and feet, in a couple of instances) around. I've planted new lawn from seed before, have plenty of friends that have done the same, and I know what it needs to look like when you first put down the seed. He could have had a thrilled customer by apologizing and cheerfully putting down $40 worth of seed. But he protested, before ultimately putting down more seed. He promised to check on the job in a couple of weeks and did not. Even when I prompted after 3 weeks, indicating that there were areas that had no germination, he said again he would be out to take a look and never came. He didn't put down starter fertilizer and then asked me if I did it yet, though he never said I'd need to do it myself. He did not do all the work that that was in the quote but billed the full amount. When I asked about that, he removed an allowance for the loam that wasn't put down, but no deduction for seed, no deduction for labor. I paid it out of disgust just to be done with Josh and Currivan Green. Interestingly, I was chatting with my neighbor who had also used him for a job and my neighbor also said that he felt the work done was mediocre at best. I'd give his work and the ultimate results 3.5 - 4 stars, but his attitude and poor customer service pulled this review down to 3 stars. Would not recommend.
