I reached out to Refined Auto with the same request, and it was a more reasonable price, especially since I had no idea if I needed to do anything to my rotors. My dad was present while Cesar worked on my car, and my dad gave me such a glowing review of how Cesar worked. My dad has not been able to stop talking about how Cesar did an amazing job on my car, how clean he works, how he keeps his tools, and his communication. My dad was so impressed with the quality of work Cesar provided on my car that he decided to get a quote for replacing his rotors. When Ceasr finished on my car, he let me know that my brake fluid was not in good condition. He drained my brake fluid and replaced it with new fluid. He explained to me in detail that brake fluid should not be topped off. I had no idea, and apparently, my dad didn't know either, and we had topped it off because it was low. Now, I know, for future reference, that when it's low, I should replace my brakes. I appreciate the work that Cesar did on my car and his communication. I will absolutely use his service again and recommend him to friends and family.

I requested a quote to recharge the AC system on a truck by method of evacuating and recovering the existing freon gas, vacuum testing the system for leaks, and then pumping the recovered gas back in along with any extra gas needed to meet factory spec. They were the first to respond (in what seem like less than 10 mins) with a base price plus a TBD cost of add'l freon I'd need. Their price was the lowest compared to all other Yelp responses I received by at least $40. Based off this very limited interaction, I'd recommend reaching out to them if you ever need any services.

I've waited a long time to write this review just to be sure that I actually know what I'm talking…read moreabout. My car had a check engine light for a bad sensor. I replaced it and it persisted so I bring it here. They took a look at it and let me know my car needed a valve cover replacement, new spark plugs, and to replace the sensor I had just replaced. There might have been more but this was almost a year ago so I don't exactly remember everything we did. Fine, I trust them because this place has been highly reviewed and it seemed very professional. So I spent about $1500 on repairs. Maybe a week later the same code comes on so I'm confused. I take it back to them and it takes days for them to get to the car because their "diagnostic tech" is really busy. Fine. So they call me and tell me that the code I'm getting is because my timing chain is fucked and it's going to cost $4500 to fix it... Which I don't have. So I sit on it for a few days while I see if I can come up with the money or what I'm going to do, before they threaten to charge me a storage fee for having my car with them. Fine, I understand they don't have all the space in the world. So I get to the shop pay their $150 diagnostic fee and try to take the car. The battery is dead. They gave me a jump and I drove home but there was no check engine light. I found it weird and thought it was a fluke. Long story short I replaced the battery, battery cable, oil, alternator and the car is just fine. I've been driving it for almost 8 months. I put in maybe $500 in parts. While I am trying to figure out what the problem is I message them and ask if they charged the battery, or if the battery died on them at all. No answer despite multiple messages. And this is what bothers me you have no problem messaging me multiple times to threaten me with fees but can't respond to one simple message. My point is this shop is shady. They wanted to upsell me on expensive repairs I didn't need. Now I'm not even sure if I truly needed those $1500 in repairs the first time. How do I know it was an upsell? The guy who gave me my car back said, "we just go based on what the scanner says." And that's when I knew this shop sucked. Why would I be charged a ridiculous $150 fee for you to scan my car? Personally that doesn't seem like diagnostic work (at least a proper one). I feel like some of the things I discovered on my own an experienced mechanic would have found. The car had an electrical problem. In between those two visits I took another car to them to see if they could do a transmission drain and fill. I put that in the appointment request and I made the appointment days in advance. When I get there they say they can't work on the car because it has a lot of miles on it, which again is fine but why are you making me waste my time and bring my car to you if you aren't going to work on it. Do you not have someone who checks the following days' appointments? Why does your website allow me to make the appointment if it doesn't meet your shops criteria. All in all I say stay away and find a place with honest mechanics.

After waiting more than 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging or assisting us, we decided to leave. I remembered there was an America's Tire location in Cerritos and headed there instead. As soon as I arrived, I noticed clear signs directing customers to the air pressure check area. I followed the signs, waited only a couple of minutes, and was promptly greeted by Jay with a friendly smile. I explained that my rear passenger-side tire was showing low pressure on my vehicle's display. Jay quickly checked all four tires and informed me that the other three also needed air. He also took the time to inspect for any other potential issues. What really stood out was that he explained the importance of checking tire pressure at least once a month--something no one at any tire shop had ever mentioned to me before. Jay filled all four tires and advised me to return if the rear tire lost more than five PSI in a short period so they could perform a more thorough inspection. Shortly afterward, I received a Tire Health Spotlight report by email that included tread depth measurements, tread condition, and a visual diagram of the results. I was genuinely impressed. No other tire shop has ever provided that level of detail or follow-up. Based on this experience alone, America's Tire in Cerritos has earned my future business. When it's time to replace my tires, I'll be returning to this location and asking for Jay. His professionalism, knowledge, and outstanding customer service made a lasting impression.

I spoke with someone who was clearly irritated from the jump. I asked if I needed an appointment to fix the thermostat for the coolant and right away the man asked how I knew that was the problem. When I told them I had a diagnostic test run at Autozone, they instantly corrected me saying "that is NOT a diagnostic test", and asked for the code. When I told them the code I received from Autozone, the man said "that's most likely a thermostat coolant issue".... sir? are you okay? I just said that! And he didn't even answer my initial question which was if I needed an appointment or not. He demanded that I bring in my car while it is still early so they can run their own tests (keep in mind he did not ask me if I was available at the moment which I was not, hence why I was calling to see if they took appointments). When I asked how much he would estimate it would be if the issue happened to be the thermostat, he gruffly told me he would NOT be making any sort of estimate or quote until I bring in my car. Overall such a bad first experience over the phone. I consider myself to be a polite person and I was met with irritation and frustration which is no way to treat someone straight off the bat. Why would I want to give someone my business and money who treats me this way right out the gate? My philosophy is to be kind initially and if someone gives you a reason to clap back, then so be it. This man clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed! Anyways, I ended up taking my car to get fixed at Young's Auto Repair in Koreatown which I HIGHLY recommend. They were so nice, clear and concise on what my car needed, no attempt to scam me, and had a fair price for the fix. They also finished the fix quickly and I was able to pick up the car on the same day! Most of all they were KIND! Would recommend Young's over this place any day. Okimoto, please work on your customer service/phone skills! Or maybe eat a pancake in the morning so you aren't so grumpy :-)

This place reminded me of the service stations next to the gas station in the 80s and 90s. Look at the pictures and you might see what I mean. Oil smell, cardboard on the floor to cover the grease, and it does not look like they are computerized... I went there because the engine bottom cover fell off on one of our cars. We are new to the area, I drove around and nobody was willing to help with this simple job. Even though they were busy, they graciously took me in, and gave me a very reasonable quote. I sat there for about 45-minutes, and I saw many regular customers coming in and out, smog checks, oil changes, something wrong with the car please help (just like me), I saw how they took care of everyone with sincerity and care. Assuring this lady they have test driven her car, there is nothing wrong with her car and there is no charge. I feel they are honest, they do a good job, and charge a reasonable price. I think that's pretty rare to find these days.
