So. Much. Fun!!! As a fan of close-up magic, I've had the pleasure of seeing multiple shows by multiple magicians over the years. In San Diego, I've been to the Red Spade Theatre (also awesome), and in New York, Monday Night Magic. How awesome was it to find out that there was another magician performing locally here in San Diego! Nick Ivory is awesome! His show is fun, entertaining, and perfectly tuned for whatever audience he is catering to. I saw him at the Vin De Syrah 7th anniversary party doing sleight of hand at the bar, and I immediately lined up to be his next test subject. We went through a couple tricks w/ a buddy of mine, and he was very attuned to our personalities and responses to his flourishes. When we left and I came back later to evesdrop on another group in the middle of another trick, I noticed how the audience participation part changed based on who he was talking with. Super professional and high level performance! I would highly recommend anyone who appreciates great sleight of hand, card flourishes, Penn and Teller, or just general entertainment while having a glass of your favorite adult beverage to make a point to see Nick Ivory at one of his multiple locations. She wrote him asking when we could see him perform and he responded quickly and was super friendly. He let us know the time and place, and made sure we had a place to sit once we got there. I have booked Nick twice now. He just recently did a gig for me for my bday party. I had everything go completely wrong that day!! My water line broke in the kitchen and I awoke to my kitchen being flooded the day of the party so I spent most of my time repairing that instead of preparing for the party. Also at noon my 5 piece band cancelled due to a singer being sick. I made a play list on my phone to play over speakers outside. I had about 30 or 40 guests and quickly ran out of food and alcohol and was super nervous that the party was a total disaster. Then walks in Nick.
