I have been a patient of Dr. Stubbs for over 8 years. Dr. Stubbs wife assists him in his office, and he had a great long time hygienist named Cae who worked for him for many years before retiring at the end of 2019. Dr. Stubbs always had problems finding a decent receptionist for his business, but overall the business used to be well run. On January 9th, I arrived at his office to have my teeth cleaned by his new hygienist, Shirley Lou Thompson. Thompson would be better off running a jack hammer for a construction crew, as my mouth was full of blood when she finished, even tagging my tongue with her drill. I advised Dr. Stubb's of the issue but he seemed to want to blame the issue on my gums, and he referred me to a periodontal group. Dr. Stubb's prescribed some pain meds and I independently made appointments with a periodontal group, and a new dentist named Michael Green to try and solve my dental issue. On January 21st I went into Dr. Stubb's office to have my dental x-rays sent to the periodontal group, and Dr Green's office for their review for upcoming appointments. I also requested the name of Dr. Stubbs hygienist. Mrs. Stubbs was handling my request when the current emotionally unstable receptionist named Alicia H. began making hand signals and acting like she was upset. I had never seen Alicia so upset, as I usually just saw her surfing the internet on her computer when I came into the office, or looking at her tattoo. When I asked Alicia why she looked upset, she replied that she felt I was threatening her staff. I advised her that I did not know when she became the "boss" of the office. Alicia then replied if I wanted her to "call somebody" I thought she meant her mental health worker, and just smiled at her. Mrs. Stubbs pulled me aside and advised she would make sure my x-rays would be sent out, and not to pay attention to Alicia as she just had a death in her family. To make a long story, short the periodontal group advised me that the gums were not the source of my immediate pain. Dr. Green lowered my number 19 tooth, which had a root canal, and a lot of my pain was gone. Apparently the hygienist "rough" cleaning raised the tooth creating much of the pain. I was also advised I still had a lot of tartar on my teeth which meant that Thompson did a totally lousy job cleaning my teeth. I wrote a letter to Dr. Stubbs on February 8th asking for a hard copy of my dental records. I also advised Dr. Stubb's of Dr. Green's findings. The records were not sent to me, until after Dr. Green sent a letter to Dr. Stubb's office asking them to send me my records. In summary, Dr. Stubbs is in his 70s and he really needs to retire when he has a staff that thinks that a patient exercising his rights to his records, and name of his hygienist, is a threat to his office. read more
