I was so upset with my visit to Alan Lawrence. I had purchased a Wowcher for a full head of colour,…read morecut and style- and I was really exited for a good experience. I travelled all the way up to Barnet from South London and now really wish I hadn't bothered. I was extremely prescriptive with what I wanted to do with my colour (even had a really specific picture with me of the ombre shade I wanted) and the colourist completely ruined my colour taking it about 10 shades darker than i requested. I was upset and initially they tried to talk me around it, saying it would just take some time to get used to it. They initially offered to put a few more foils in, but then completely disagreed with me and what I was asking (more blonde foils to lighten it up and make it more natural as the colour really didn't look like me). They then told me they couldn't fit me in to fix up the damage. On top of this, they charged me extra for having a toner i didn't ask for. I was furious at paying. I just wanted to get out so i paid the extra and left. I made an appointment with my normal salon (Headmasters) for that afternoon, and they fixed my hair- it' now not looking like what i wanted but still substantially better than what I left Alan Lawrence with. I spent £164 on my good hairdresser to fix what Alan Lawrence had done. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone and would never go back.

On the first occasion I used a half price voucher from a friend and enjoyed a nice haircut (and got to read some magazines which was nice). I would definitely have paid full price but at half price I thought it was a good deal. However, when I booked a second haircut I was asked for the person who cut my hair before. I gave the name but said I didn't mind who I had. I was booked with someone who was a higher level than the original person who had cut my hair and not even told! It was not until my haircut had been done and I went to pay that I foud out- very sneaky! I have not been back since! For a similar price range, I think Toni and Guy offers a much better service as they are much more upfront about how much a haircut will cost.
