I've seen Dr Ky for plantar fasciatis and for two ingrown toenails. I picked him due to the positive Yelp reviews. He prescribed me insoles for the plantar fasciatis - which literally worked miracles in a few days. It was so bad that I could barely walk when I got up. I probably should have gone in for the ingrown nails years ago, but it got to the point I couldn't stand to put on shoes, so I finally went. We did one foot at a time, which was a good idea - the first one was pretty painful, but the second went smoother. The numbing shots weren't fun, but he distracted me by chatting with me, and he was quick and efficient. In my four visits we had some interesting conversations. What sticks out to me is that in one he said he doesn't wear a white coat because he feels that it puts a barrier between him and his patient. So, $107 for 15 minutes. We contacted the clinic and they said that the amount charged was for a consultation and a nail cut. They told us to dispute this with her bank. Straight forward and easy to deal with. He won't sell you anything you don't need. To the cancer comment below; it is better to detect cancer early than have it reached stage 4 and become incurable. I was playing basketball at 24 hr fitness and landed on another player's foot and rolled my ankle. I tore two ankle ligaments on my right foot. I was in pain and agony. I was be hard headed and tried to let it heal on it's own. But it wasn't healing, so I looked up DPM doctors within my network. I made an appointment and met with dr ky. He examined my foot and felt it with his hands and said that this feels off and most likely this foot will need surgery by the reaction he gets when he applies pressure . So he order an mri and an x-ray and it turns out I do need surgery. I never had surgery before and being skeptical I took the X-ray and mri to two different doctors and they all said I needed the surgery. At this point, I decided to get the surgery done . I don't regret it besides gaining a ton of weight after the surgery for being semi immobile . The surgery took about an hour. He prescribed me some strong pain killer meds which helped a lot . I recovered earlier than expected by 2 weeks. I am currently able to jog again and walk. I haven't been hooping but I will eventually but not anytime soon because I don't want to sprain again . Horrible Doctor. My husband has had issues with him since the moment he started treating him which has been over a few months now. He came to this doctor because of an injury he got from work. Shattering his ankle. After his ankle repair surgery this doctor okay'd him to return to work JUST 2 weeks post surgery even though my husband works in an industrial setting and he was still taking narco pain killers that were prescribed to him. We went back to his office to try to see the doctor to get him back on leave but the front desk woman said that the doctor refuses to speak to him and he's going to have to make an appointment. My husband had to go to work per Dr. Ky's note so He limped and sweated on crutches while trying to walk to his work station which was 15 minutes from the entrance if he was able to walk properly so you can imagine how long it took him to get there . My husbands own manager had to send him home less than 1 hour of being at work because he was in terrible shape and almost passed out so he told him to try to reach back out to his doctor. THEN after complaining and complaining he FINALLY changed his note to 5 weeks off. Then my husband had to do weeks of physical therapy. Why didn't he do that in the first place? Also my husband is 6'2 around 250lb so hoping around one one leg that has screws in its knee is no easy task. Smh! Needless to say we are months into seeing this doctor and it's been nothing less than HORRIBLE ever since. He doesn't care about his patients trust me. Go else where!!!! read more

I went to Dr. Ky from a referral through other doctors. I was very glad and pleased to have a doctor that was part of the new generation of doctors. Many times go have used older doctors and they would not go into detail why I am not able to walk. I have visit this office over the past 3 years due to several complication in both of my feet. Each time I am greeted with warm emailed and understanding. Nhu the administrator at dr. Ly office is very nice and helpful. She always has immediate attention to my concern Dr. Ky. I rushed over there quick and asked how long it would take to get the ingrown toenail done, he said 15mins which was perfect considering the amount of time I had. He was very friendly,talkative and straight to the point about my ingrown toe treatment options. I chose Dr. Nguyen because out of all the people I called, his office offered the most affordable prices for the cost of service. I'm a student with no health insurance, so affordability is a concern. Anyways, he was the only doctor who offered free consultation, and the x-rays were affordable. His availability was flexible, so I was able to make an appointment within 2 days. He is very knowledgeable, but most importantly, he was patient and caring. He explained my injuries in a way that I can understand it, and not in his medical lingo. He was supposed to take 3 x-rays, but he was able to fit 2 on 1 so I was only charged for 2. It turns out that my sprained ankle had a 15mm fracture in my tibia. He offered several recommendations, based on the understanding of my needs. In my experience, doctors tend to tell you what needs to be done, regardless of your ability or needs, and when you object, they get an attitude and irritated with you. Dr. Nguyen, was far from it. He proposed several options, and allowed me to choose. He respected my decisions and advised me according to my choice. I never felt pressured to make a particular choice. For the longest time, I believed that doctors are more in it for the money. Loved Dr.Ky and his secretary! I had corns on two of my toes and wanted to remove them as well as get a hammertoe surgery. My entire process was great. I didn't feel a thing during surgery and I woke up right after the procedure. My feet were super swollen the first week and after that it began to get easier once you Ice and elevate it. The medicine he prescribed to me didn't work well with my stomach so I stopped taking it after 3 days. After that I focused on elevating my feet and icing it. I'm in week 6 from recovering and I can see a major difference! My toes are straight and I am confident in wearing sandals now. It's a crazy procedure especially because I did both of my feet at once, meaning I had two boots on for 5 weeks. I didn't know what to expect but Dr.Ky and his secretary helped me with any questions I had. I definitely felt cared for here and if I have any other foot issues I will be returning here. The check in process was super simple - they took all insurance details over the phone before the appointment so all I had to do was fill in a form of personal details and straight in to see him. Dr. Ky was friendly, knowledgeable and direct. The urgent care center that x-rayed my foot said I had a fracture, but Dr. Ky re-diagnosed it as soft tissue injury, which fit the symptoms much better. I was referred to Dr. Nguyen Ky by my primary care doctor for a bunion removal. Everything went great until the day of my surgery. After arriving to the hospital to check in, I was told that my surgery got cancelled. I was in complete shock because I didn't get a notice before saying that my surgery got cancelled. Apparently, something happened with my insurance but I never got a call or letter saying it was cancelled! I had to sit in traffic on the way to the hospital and waste my time because I never got a notice. I called the office immediately after finding this out and the receptionist told me that it happened a week ago. She said she would figure out the situation and give me a call back right away. Still, NO CALL! The receptionist here is very unprofessional. I had discomfort and inflammation on my big toe (right foot) for a few days. It didn't get better after trying home remedies and I began searching for a DPM in San Jose. Most were booked and I'd have to wait at least 3 days for an appointment. So, after a lucky internet search I came across Nguyen Ky. I called the office and his practice was booked completely. Nonetheless, I explained to the office assistant that walking was becoming difficult and nobody in town would schedule me within 48hrs except an expensive 24hr medical facility. She placed me on hold and arranged a walk-in. I got there and was treated fairly and respectfully. The podiatry doctor explained all options and quoted me a fair price. Going elsewhere is crazy unless it's free! Like the previous user explained the consultation costs $0. If you dislike what the DPM is teaching, walk out and leave!
