After hurricane Sally caused devastation to my condo, I was hoping that the homeowners association…read moreand their hired contractor would make the necessary repairs to my unit. However, that was not that case and the burden to return my unit to its pre-hurricane form fell upon me. As a non-local resident, I had heard that most contractors were way too busy to take on any additional work. After performing an internet search, I came across several contractors in the area including Gulf Shores Remodeling. Scott was the only contractor that returned my request for information. I was a little skeptical at first but something about our initial conversation put me at ease about hiring him, without a recommendation, from over 500 miles away. He indicated he was busy, but would be happy to look at the job and see if he could fit us in. We arranged for him to visit my Condo the next day. That next evening, as promised, Scott called to discuss what he saw that needed to be done and cover any other items that I wanted repaired. He asked to take his business partner back to the condo the next day so that they could give me an accurate quote. He followed through. We discussed everything that needed to be accomplished, agreed on a price, a start and completion date. I have completed many home improvement/remodel projects in my homes. Having done that, I am skeptical about completion dates. However, not only did Scott deliver the project on time he finished early. His work was outstanding, and he went above and beyond. An example of his character is below. Scott had completed the painting portion of the job and was kind enough to go back and take pictures to send to me. The previous day, I noticed the HOA contractor was in the unit with a paint brush via my security camera. I feared the worst. Scott phoned me with the bad news and my fears were correct. The worker had been sent into the unit to repair something that didn't need to be repaired. He did not notice the new paint, do any prep to protect the areas around where he would be working nor did he clean up after himself. In fact, the HOA contractor left paint and plaster all over my countertop and floors. Scott cleaned up the mess and repainted the area that was damaged by the HOA contractor. He took before and after photos of everything, including the HOA contractor mishap. His work was exceptional. Our condo is in better shape post Sally than pre Sally thanks to his work. I recommend Scott and Gulf Shores Remodeling without hesitation. If I ever have another project in the area, I will only be using them.
