I've heard great things about Nexus since they opened from my now fiancé and my brother. I finally got the chance to go with my fiancé today and try the digital range. You need to be a member to shoot, so you must join for $10 if you are not a member yet and it only takes a few minutes to sign up. Make sure you bring your ID! After deciding if you want to do the digital range or the paper range you will find out your estimated wait time, and if you opt in to text messaging upon sign up then you will get a text when your lane is ready. You can use this time to shop around and look at guns, ammo, or accessories. There's also a waiting area with seats and a vending machine. When my fiancé and I entered our lane I noticed it was well maintained and the digital targets were very cool. I am not super into guns but I'm supportive of my fiancés hobbies and I can see why he loves to come here. It is nice to let go of some stress and go shooting in a safe yet fun atmosphere! To top it off, all of the staff is amazing, from entry to the range to signing out. In the range, Warren noticed I was a newbie and that I was eager to do improve and stepped in and gave me some tips on proper form, from not locking my elbows to standing more forward. He also helped my fiancé with adjusting his stance and was overall so helpful and friendly. Warren took what could be a very boring position and made it fun for the customer and a learning experience. My fiancé loves coming to Nexus and I truly see why! I've been to shooting ranges in the past but I have never had "the best day ever" there. I'm in the sales industry, and I can say that Nexus knows what they're doing. This is a modern take on a gun range with all kinds of digital targets to shoot at including zombies, targets (moving and still) and many other choices. You can also choose the paper target range for $1 per person less. Keep in mind while the digital range is fun, you'll go through a lot more ammo that you buy from them. We went through 200 rounds in an hour that typically we would use 100. And the ammo is not cheap. For 9 mm it was about $22 a box of 50. At shooters world you can get a box for half the price. But we don't have a Shooters World here. Staff is friendly and accommodating. On a weekend, expect to wait about 30 minutes for a lane, many lanes were out of order. Not sure why. Also, a lot of space between lanes. Much more than I'm used to. read more

I have literally been to nexus shooting range 4x times trying to give them my money only to leave disappointed or dissatisfied. Although the building is nice and the simulation ranges are "cool" and different I'm very surprised to see how little the stag seems to know about actual firearms starting with the greeter at the door and the reps at the sales counter. None of my visits have been great and this dates to "precovid" before guns ammo and parts were scarce. In short they always have inventory issues and for a fancy boutique store selling $7k handguns your think they kept gun parts available for sale at the counter or the gunsmith willing to sell parts at a fee Prices are ridiculous in general and I'll continue to support Gun World or Homestead training center both of which are an hour away drive from me. read more

I especially like this place because it's clean and they have good organization when it comes to waiting for a lane. Try the digital firing lanes, it's a little pricier but it's so much fun. Yes they have guns in stock but be prepared for the worst possible customer service. Pulled a number and waited 2 hours to never be called. Watched others walk in after us walk up and just push their way to get help. Manager John could care less when we asked for help. Explained we had number 43 and the guy being helped had 45. He said "well he came in earlier". Said they only had 2 salesman. It's Saturday! Manager told me how to spell his last name when writing a review! So disappointed and definitely Won't be back! I made an appointment on a Wednesday for a private lesson on the upcoming Saturday. After a lot of back and forth with the instructor over text message we finally got the date scheduled. Then the night before my lesson, the instructor texted me and said that he doesn't work there anymore (so weird!). And I didn't hear a word from Nexus apologizing or asking me if I want to set up a time with another instructor. It just seems so disorganized there. Nexus seems to have a pretty good overall rating but there are a lot of recent 1-star reviews. Maybe it's not as good as it used to be. I'll look to book somewhere else. read more

You go through a whole process of getting registered and becoming a member thinking they will use that info to make it easier for you to use their services in the future but no. They send you home if you don't have a physical id, the same ID they asked for during registration. I even tried showing an online, verifiable ID since we are in 2022 after all. What a waste of time and a ridiculous way to treat a "member." All 3 "members" in our group went home and will be going to a different range that uses common sense. read more

The best shooting range I've ever been to. Nexus is my go to range for target shooting. The range officers are extremely professional and very accommodating. Clean, quiet and no gun smoke inhalation like other ranges. The computer and simulator targets are world class and help hone my shooting skills for accuracy and target acquisition. Totally state of the art and what a gun range should be. It blows away shooting static paper targets. They also have a huge selection of high end firearms in every make and model and offer great competitive pricing. I highly recommend Nexus to anyone who loves target shooting. read more

I've been in many gun stores and can say this is one of the nicest ones I've seen. The staff is very friendly and organized. You pull a ticket and they call your number when a sales associate is available. There was a limited supply of guns due to the inventory shortage now but if this was a normal time they have a large amount of options for handguns, ARs, and shotguns (even had a 50cal available) Pricing for the gun range is pretty reasonably priced. I rented a gun but if you bring your own ammo and gun it's $18 an hour and then the prorate by the minute after the first hour. Certainly higher priced than an outdoor range. Also, this is using a paper target. They have interactive targets available that cost more. I also bought headphones for $10 and the paper targets were $1 per target. I will certainly come back to Nexus to try their interactive targets in the future. read more

From the moment you walk into this facility, you'll know this is not your ordinary firearm store. Then futuristic look is something straight out of Star Wars, Star Trek, or the backroom at Men in Black headquarters. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful especially if you need help in deciding which type of gun you would like to purchase. They are very patient and will answer any question you have, in addition to asking you questions to determine what type of gun best suits your needs. Their displays are hanging in front of you on the walls where you can see them, not just stacked in a case. If you are not sure which handgun is best for you, you can rent them and try it out in their shooting range which has a very high quality ventilation system. Btw, they have Ladies Day/Night on Mondays where ladies can shoot paper targets for free. It's not just a gun store, not just a gun range, they truly care about their customers' interest and will guide you to make the best decision. read more

Today I had my concealed weapon course with Christ Hill. I just can say that it was excellent. He explain basic things with the correct POV, very puntual in real life. Very neat facility with large variety of guns to choose from. The range is clean and well kept. The guns are displayed beautifully and the screens behind them are digital. Very modern. There are glass cases in the center displaying collector items and all the guns in these displays have not been shot. There are also a lot of accessories being sold including women's bags for concealed weapons. Inside the range, you have the option to shoot paper and to shoot digital which is really cool. I didn't get to experience it this time but the guy explained behind the digital screen is a gel like material that encases the bullets. You can shoot ducks or other targets. Very advanced technology. The lanes are clean. The security is not extremely tight, the is a person standing guard but will not oversee every small detail. The ears here aren't over ear, they're small in ear plugs. I realize it makes a big difference so if you have sensitive hearing, you may want to bring your own. read more

DONT DO IT.. Looking over the reviews I thought this place would be pretty pleasant, boy was I deceived. Most of the five star reviews seem to be from their friends or first timers. My time was scheduled for 5:45pm on March 4th, 2023. The first guy was I was Inside the back to shot was a older gentleman very good and Thorough with his instruction and all was going good. Then it must have been a shift change cause all I feel on my back is "tap tap tap". I turn around to a chubbier younger guy telling me how to aim. Lol I laugh it off cause I've been training with guns for 20 years plus by high ranking marksmen but just trying to be nice I say sure show me. The guy grabs the gun and I mean he's shaking like crazy. So I laugh again and lean to start shooting. (Tap, tap, tap) "oh and no rapid fire btw). As he's saying it a fully auto blars out. I step back like are you serious dude. I wouldn't recommend at all it's expensive and just not worth it. I payed about 205 ammo targets ears glasses and rented a desert eagle. Desert eagle was absolute trash. Every shot the thing jams. After that and the guy constantly tapping me I was fed up only about 20 min into my hour session.They refunded me my money for the rental gun but not the ammo and not the rest of my time. read more

We visited this evening looking to see what a "state of the art" gun range is really about. We didn't really get to see anything ..... however. More on that later .... They demand a membership at a reasonable 10 bucks but required of everyone meaning pure profit to use the facilities. They offer two ranges and both are behind a closed off area without ability to view. They suggest it's for sound and safety, however, it appears mostly about liability. Such an expensive retail and range should have some ability to view the range and family while shooting. This was the only real negative, that and they don't carry Kimber ! The employees are very nice and their are many available. The retail area has a lot to offer in a relatively small space. Most guns and rifles are on the wall and lined. Prices as easy to see and specials too. The range rents several high quality pistols and provide all needed items. The digital range is said to electronically track your progress and animated with up to nine choices. read more

Nexus is a shooting range that has all the cool stuff and really takes your breath away with their super modern facilities but once you take a second look it leaves a little to be desired. I went in to have a set of night sights installed on my glock. A simple enough operation especially since I already had the correct night sights and simply needed them installed. The fee was $25 which is more than reasonable and I was more than happy to pay for it. The good: The glock certified armorer did a fantastic job. He was friendly and great to deal with. My sights turned out great and I'm very happy with his work. The bad: When I went in to drop my pistol off (I was happy to leave them my pistol for multiple days) the process took more than an hour and a half. There were only ten customers in the store and about 10 staff members. Everyone I talked to didn't seem to know the "procedure" for taking in a firearm. Finally after the second manager and third salesman they finally agreed to hold onto the pistol so the armorer could install my night sights. The ugly: Upon arriving to pick up my pistol after they had installed the sights, I had to wait for my sales ticket to come up (totally understandable, they were very busy) after which the salesman informed me that he was unable to find my pistol. I ended up waiting for more than an hour until he came back and said he still couldn't find it. It doesn't look good when a gun store looses guns that you entrust them with. After about two hours they were able to finally find my pistol and give it back. I'm not sure where it was but I couldn't believe it took so long to find it. The verdict: They have an incredible facility, they need to clean their bathrooms though, and their services are great. Their staff is more focused on looking cool than actually helping customers and conducting business. I will not recommend them considering there are so many other great ranges in the Fort Lauderdale area that are more focused on customer satisfaction. read more

One of the most hi-tech ranges and gun shops ever existed! Once arrive, it's hard to leave...The retail display is state of art with some of the most sought after arsenal known to sport shooting enthusiasts ranging from Barrett M82A1 50BMG, FN scar 17H to an array of Zev-tech full custom Glocks and everything in between. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable enough to provide some technical assistance although it would be nice to have someone who is an encyclopedia of ballistic coefficiencies on any particular around of ammunition through varieties of barrel lengths or be able to offer interpretation of the significancy of M1918 used by American arm forces during WWII from historian's perspective. The shooting range is nice and clean with pre-set target distance modes. Length of about 100ft standard for any reputable establishments but the standing width is a bit narrow about 3ft although the dividers are clear polycarbonate glass thus make it appearsto be more open. The standing floor area is recessed with grates over it so one needs not have to swipe the casings afterwards, just be careful not to drop any ammo as it can't be retrieved. The digital moving target is entirely on its own level but I will leave it with some imagination for the shooters to experience it on their own. All these fun comes with a fairly reasonable price, $10 life time member fee (one-time only) and $15 paper shooting session. They also offer disposable eyes and ears protection as opposed to other ranges with reusable ones. Best of all is the $10 FFL transfer per firearm which is lowest I have found and I have personally taken advantage of it numerous times. read more

One of the better shooting ranges that I've been to. Came here with my husband and brother in law on a Friday morning. It was my brother in law's first time shooting a gun. The range officers were fantastic in helping him with his grip, stance, and overall made him feel comfortable shooting. We rented two paper lanes for the three of us - we had no wait time. A few negatives: Prices were a little higher than other ranges that I've been to. Since we didn't bring our own firearms, we had to purchase ammo from the range. We didn't travel from NY with our firearms. Wasn't too crazy about the $10 new member fee (especially since I'm not from the area and won't be returning often) I've never been to a range that didn't force you to wear ear muffs. The family of FOUR people in the lane next to us worried me. I didn't like that four people (especially four that had never shot a gun/ had ZERO range etiquette) were able to share one lane. Thankfully one of the range officers was glued to them and kept them corralled. Despite the negatives, I had a great time and will return next time I visit my in laws. read more
