But Dr. Ernst is AMAZING and knows how to help anxious patients feel more comfortable. I had my third bone graft today, and despite having a very positive experience with Dr. Ernst every time, I was incredibly anxious, to the point where I almost cancelled the appointment. But I went ahead and went in, letting the assistant know that my anxiety was very high today. That message got to Dr. Ernst and he came in and was very comforting. He went slow, explained everything clearly, and by the time we were ready for the Lidocaine, my anxiety had gone from a 9/10 to maybe a 2 max! I feel like I'm the only one in the world who can say that going to the dentist relaxed them!

For my second visit, I had two appointment scheduled - one at 11:00am and another at 12:00pm. I called the office the day before at 11:57am, before my second appointment time , simply to reschedule. Instead of being treated with basic courtesy, I was met with rudeness. The staff member told me they charge a $100.00 fee, even though the office's own written policy in the Welcome to Practice section clearly states a $50.00 broken-appointment fee, not a rescheduling fee. When I questioned the discrepancy, the person on the phone became dismissive and even said " They didn't have to tell me anything". That level of disrespect in unacceptable in any healthcare setting. This wasn't an isolated incident. During my first appointment, my mother -who was sitting in the lobby- overhead the receptionist being rude to another patient on the phone. I also waited over two hours just to get X-rays and briefly speak with the dentist. No one even cleaned my teeth during my visit, despite it being my initial appointment. Between the inconsistent policies , the unnecessary $100.00 fee, the rude and dismissive staff, and the poor patient experience, I cannot recommend this office. Patients deserve, respect, and professionalism- none of which were shown here. Sorry, I forgot to say this occurred at the Indian Trail location.
